With over 25 years of experience in performing full service repairs, Nine Two Five Watch and Jewelry Repairs has been one of the Toronto favourites for major to minor watch repairs.

It also helps that their name also has a certain ring to it, so they’re quite easy to remember.

Apart from being a full service shop, what makes Nine Two Five stand out is the fact that they cater to almost all kinds of watches. We find that bringing them a vintage or digital watch wouldn’t be a problem as they are knowledgeable in various brands.

Their expertise in jewelry repairs also makes them a great choice for those who have luxury watches or those who are very particular with the material of their silver or gold watches. They handle each piece delicately and communicate the issues well.

We also like how they have established a good relationship with their customers, as many have made them their go-to. Sometimes, they even throw in a free strap adjustment for loyal customers or provide discounts for those with major services.

Honestly, there isn’t anything alarming about them. We do find that since many people love them, waiting can sometimes take long and it’s best to call them for a reservation or ask about their schedule, as they don’t normally post if all slots are filled for a day.

We also note that they are closed on Saturdays. This doesn’t affect their performance, but we find that almost all their competitors are open on this day, which puts them a little behind in terms of availability.

Overall, we recommend Nine Two Five Watch and Jewelry Repairs for their attentiveness and relevant knowledge in repairing watches. If you’re wondering, they do repairs for wall clocks too!

Pros

  • Has been in the business for over 25 years
  • Caters to almost all watch makes and models
  • Also repairs jewelry
  • Has a good relationship with clientele
  • Occasional free or discounted minor services

Cons

  • Queues can sometimes be long
  • Closed on Saturdays

Formerly known as Oyster Time, Swiss Watchery opened in Toronto in 2010. Their founder has 27 years’ worth of experience in the Swiss Luxury Watch repair industry and was a former horologist at Rolex Canada.

Swiss Watchery is very accessible. Their location makes them a convenient choice, as they are only a minute-away from the Toronto Eaton Centre.

Service- and repair-wise, what we like about this store is their guaranteed same day repair turnaround for selected procedures. Their while-u-wait service is popular because customers get to sit and observe as their watches get fixed.

They are also a great choice for luxury brands, as they are an independent service provider for the likes of Cartier, Gucci, Omega, Rolex, and more. We do note that because of this, some of their charges can be a little higher than most.

We also find that their expertise in Swiss watches could mean their lack of knowledge and skills with regards to repairing watches in other makes and models. Still, they usually get the job done for common repairs such as battery and strap replacements.

We recommend Swiss Watchery for those who have luxury watches or those who are willing to spend on a quality watch repair. They also offer computerised engraving for those who want their pieces personalised.

Pros

  • Perfect for those with luxury watches
  • Original battery replacements
  • Can perform same-day repairs
  • Location is very accessible

Cons

  • Some quotes are expensive
  • Expertise can be limited to Swiss watches

Canadian Watch is a watch sales and service business that has been in Toronto since 1979. They are recognised for their expertise in Swiss and Japanese name-brand watches.

They have a fully-equipped service facility that practices advanced technological methods in watch repair and uses the finest and updated equipment and tools. The facility is also beautiful in itself and is the first environmentally-friendly place of its kind.

We like Canadian Watch because of their good track record over the years, but we especially find their inventory of parts, tools, and accessories superior. They usually have both the newest and oldest pieces a modern or vintage watch will need.

A few of their services are also available same-day and on a while-u-wait basis. We note that their staff are Certified Master technicians, so sometimes they can be more expensive than their competitors.

There are also reports about unsatisfied customers with regards to the results of their repair services. Some claim that the results are mediocre or that the repairs aren’t lasting solutions, which can be a red flag for those who rely on previous experiences.

Still, we find that the positive feedback outweighs the negative ones. We believe that the tenure and overall experience of Canadian Watch make them recommendable.

Pros

  • Over 40 years experience
  • Environmentally-friendly facility
  • Updated equipment and tools
  • Has a good inventory of watch parts, tools, and accessories

Cons

  • Can be expensive
  • Has a few unsatisfied customer claims

Established in 1999, Right Time is among the popular places with regards to watch sales and services in Toronto. They were trained by and are an official service provider of The Swatch Group.

Highly qualified technicians make up Right Time’s team. They also have a state-of-the-art facility where they use up-to-date watch equipment.

We like this service because they cater to all makes and models. We do note that some parts of certain watch brands may not be available right away and that they may require the owners to wait.

Orders for their watches for sale and bookings for their watch services can be done online, but customers will need to create a free account to do so. Creating an account is easy, but we hope they can make the website entirely public.

We also warn that Right Time has reports of rude customer service and that their communication needs some work. This is a concern that we hope they will address immediately.

On the bright side, we find that they have affordable pricing for their services. The results aren’t always perfect and they aren’t experts for all watches, but they usually get the job done well and customers appreciate how they don’t have to spend much.

Right Time is a great option for those who want straightforward, affordable watch repairs. Their battery replacement services are very quick and cheap.

Pros

  • 24 years’ experience
  • Official service provider of The Swatch Group
  • State-of-the-art facility
  • Ordering and appointment booking can be done online

Cons

  • Some watch replacement parts are not on-hand
  • Has reports of rude customer service

WK Watch & Jewellers is a watch and jewelry business that has over 30 years experience in jewelry, watch, and antique clock services. They also perform appraisals, so they are very knowledgeable in the watch and jewelry industry.

Popular services by WK Jewellers are watch glass and battery replacements. We find that these are basic watch repair services, so we believe that they still need to further their skills on major repairs.

They do have appropriate equipment for old and new wristwatches. We also note that they are also known for their antique clock repairs, which is a huge plus in terms of their knowledge.

Watch clean ups, along with re-assembling and re-lubricating are also available here. We do note that they can only perform a part replacement depending on your watch and their parts inventory is smaller than their competitors’.

Their prices are also affordable. However, we find that they have a small team and that customers are not well attended to at times, especially during long lines.

On the bright side, we like that WK Jewellers have polishing, cleaning, and engraving services. This makes them a quick go-to for those who want a simple watch touch-up.

All said, WK Jewellers made the cut because of their generally good reputation over the years. They have delivered promising repair services and have kept their affordable prices.

Pros

  • Over 30 years’ experience
  • Also repairs antique clocks and jewelry
  • Best for watch glass and battery replacements
  • Very affordable services

Cons

  • Watch part replacements are not guaranteed
  • Small team leads to occasionally unattended customers
