Relaxing and enjoyable service
I purchased the Exotic escape for 2, and it was amazing I had a very good time with my boyfriend. The whisper zone is relaxing and quiet to relax in the pool and hot tub , I absolutely loved the steam room. The Swedish massage was so relaxing and I deeply enjoyed every minute of it!! the dinner was excellent , great service as well as the food! Will definitely come back sometime!! – Julia
Incredibly luxurious and amazing experience
Had an amazing four hours at the Elmwood Spa yesterday. My sister and I each had a 50-minute massage and lunch, but used the water therapies beforehand, which included swimming in the heated pool (so relaxing!) and sauna (smelled amazing and I felt great after just 10 minutes in the incredible heat!). I had two appetizers for lunch and they were outstanding – lots of awesome flavours and just the right amount of food. Walking around in a cosy bathrobe all morning and through lunch felt incredibly luxurious. Every member of the staff was super kind and welcoming. I felt pampered the whole time I was there and the value of spending so long at the spa for the cost of a massage and lunch was well worth it. It was such a great experience I’ve decided to do it at least a few times a year. Self care is hugely important when life gets so busy. A few hours at the Elmwood is a perfect way to do just that. – Michela Pasquali

The Spa at Four Seasons is the kind of place that would cross your mind when you think of five-star glamor. Well, after all, it’s at the Four Seasons Hotel where everything screams luxury.
Before we talk further, we’ll give it to you straight – massages here are pricey. We reckon it’s the best getaway for a planned weekend or a monthly pampering, rather than a spur-of-the-moment spa.
Anyway, we believe you’ll love how you can personalize the spa experience for yourself. This way, you can enjoy more services other than massages.
In line with massages, some of the client favorites here are the Aromatherapy Massage and the Deep Tissue Massage. The first one is best to soothe muscles and reduce tension, while the second one is best for increased mobility.
Other than these two, they also offer Elemental Massage, Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, Bamboo Massage, Mom-to-be Massage, and Rosedale Reflexology.
To give you an idea, each of these massages lasts for 60 minutes and none of them cost below $200. If you still want to elevate the experience, certain enhancements cost $25 each.
For example, instead of oil, you can opt to use organic whipped shea butter instead. It makes your skin dewy and supple by the way, so look into that if you’re up for it.
Pros
- Clients can personalize the services they get
- Offers a wide array of massages
- 60 minutes is the minimum duration for massages
- Offers massage enhancements to elevate the experience
- Offers monthly specials

Cons

Heavenly massage experience
The massage experience was absolutely heaven. The therapist is attentive to your needs. The massage beds are comfortable with silk/satin sheets and warm blanket. The large facility also has warm & cozy bathrobes, the best compared to other luxury spas in the City. There is a waiting area with healthy snacks & herbal tea. The eucalyptus shower experience is refreshing. And they have a great selection of moisturizing products for hair, face & body. The steam room & hot tub are relaxing & large. The service is great in all areas of the spa. – Rav

This is my favourite spa to go to in all of Toronto. Yes, it’s quite expensive but it is worth every penny! Their standards across the board is literally 5 stars. They make sure everyone is having the best experience and are all so professional and courteous. Every technician I’ve had from facials to massages to getting a manicure and pedicure are top notch. They sell most of the products in the spa as well. Do yourself a favour and indulge in this perfect oasis in Yorkville! – Chantel Whitter

When we talk about massages, there’s no way we can’t talk about the famed Thai massage. And here’s why Bahn Thai Spa made it to our list.
You can only try Thai and Swedish massages here and no other types of massage. In our opinion, it’s a good thing because it makes the massage highly specialized, but it can be limiting for customers looking for something else.
Regardless, we believe you’ll enjoy the authentic Thai vibe in this spa. The best part is, their prices fall within Toronto’s average, landing them among the most affordable spas on this list.
Another thing that we liked is that you can go crazy with the session duration. If 30 minutes isn’t enough, then you can get up to 300 minutes of pure Thai massage!
Other than the traditional Thai massage, you can also try their Detox Abdominal Thai Massage/Chi Nei Tsang, Hot Stem Thai Massage/Luk Pra Kob, Lanna Backwalking & Thai Massage, and Infrared Sauna.

Positive and unique experience
I have had a Thai massage before and this was one of the best ones I’ve had. The ambience added to the experience and I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a unique type of massage. They were very professional and followed strict covid protocols. They are a small independent spa that provided a positive experience from start to end. – Wanda Jemm
Amazing massage experience
We had an amazing experience at Bahn Thai. We went for our anniversary for a couples massage. It was a first for both of us, we had no idea how intense this would be. We have full time jobs and run a diss gig of our own… and we had no idea how sore and stiff our bodies were until our practitioners started working on those areas. 120 minutes of intense deep tissue work and we feel lighter than ever before. The place smells so aromatic with lemongrass essential oils, clean, professional, everything you’d want from a massage place! – Anuja Mehta

H2O Float Studio offers many cool services that will make you feel one with the cosmos. In our opinion, it’s the best place to be if you want a short moment to disconnect with the world and seek peace.

A blissful experience
Most blissful experience ever. I wanted to treat myself to a float + massage. I was booked with Ryan Gaal for my massage and it was SO blissful! He was so attentive and made me feel very safe, and comfortable. It felt like he had extensive knowledge of the muscles. I’ve never had a massage like that before. The language he used before and after the massage made me feel that he really cared about my health and wellbeing. His energy allowed me to really surrender and melt into the massage table – physically and emotionally I was able to tension fade away. When I was transported to the floating tank I was out in space. Thank you so much H20 Toronto for making this experience so beautiful! I feel new. – Ashley Ray
Consistently wonderful experience
I’ve been coming to H20 for float sessions throughout the last 4 years I’ve lived in Toronto, and they’ve always been wonderful. I went in for my first massage awhile ago and it was the best massage I’ve received. The massage therapist was named Hannah, I’d highly recommend her. She helped me get rid of my post-exam stress, and she was very considerate and made me feel comfortable. The float pods/rooms are always kept spotless, tidy, and a good temperature. I made the mistake of trying another float spa roughly 6 months ago (now closed down) and it was nothing close to the quality at H20. Worth every penny. – Chantel Bracewell
Common Types of Massages
Don’t know what kind of massage to get? Here are some of the most common types of massages that you can get in spas and wellness centers:
Swedish Massage
The Swedish massage is probably the most common massage out there. It involves massaging the tissues in the body in order to increase blood circulation, which leads to bodily relaxation.
The massages included in a Swedish massage are kneading, rubbing, vibration as well as stretching the joints. It was proven by the Canadian College of Massage and Therapy that this type of massage does increase blood circulation and relaxes your muscles very well.
Deep Tissue Massage
The deep tissue massage, as the name suggests, goes beyond what the Swedish massage targets. This type of massage targets the network of connective tissues that can be found surrounding, supporting, and inhabiting muscles, bones, organs as well as some nerves.
This kind of massage alleviates the pain you feel because of arthritis, as well as other chronic pain. These were all proven by the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario
Trigger Point Massage
The trigger point massage combines the Swedish and Deep Tissue massage in one as it targets the “trigger point” of the body. The main targets of this massage are the areas of muscle tightness or what other people call “knots”.
According to the Mayo Clinic, trigger points are areas around that body that cause discomfort to the person. A point triggers headaches and other symptoms that people might just brush off.
Prenatal Massage
According to the Canadian Chiropractic Association, prenatal massages lower the possibility of a pregnant woman’s risk of premature birth. Since pregnant women experience pains from their lower back and such, it isn’t surprising for them to want to have a nice massage.
There have been pieces of evidence proving that massages help with women’s mental health, back pains, as well as labor pains. In addition, they feel pain in their lower back, legs, or hips and may suffer from swelling that can easily be solved by some massages.
