Up until now, I’ve mostly celebrated my birthdays at home, usually in my living room or in the backyard. I guess you could say that I’ve kept it simple, but some people would probably call it, unfortunately, basic.
Now that I’m getting older, I feel like it’s time to get out of my comfort zone and throw better parties. After all, we only get so many birthdays in our lifetime.
I’ve decided that my next celebration is going to be big and electric — and that means I need a place that can live up to what I have in mind.
Thankfully, I don’t have to look very far. There are several well-known venues in Toronto that are known for hosting the most exciting birthday parties.
How much does it cost to rent a birthday party venue in Toronto?

Toronto Event Space Rentals is a great venue for a casual celebration that still feels elevated. This bright, wheelchair-accessible space can comfortably fit up to 40 guests.
The highlight here is how the owners are very responsive and accommodating. They won’t even make a fuss if you reschedule after a date has been set.
We think you’ll also appreciate that they have a good selection of versatile decorations on hand, such as candles, garlands, and marquees. It’ll definitely save you the effort of finding a stylist.
But nowadays, just decor isn’t enough anymore — photobooths are also a necessity. Thankfully, they can arrange that for you, along with an on-site attendance and extra fun props.
Just a warning, though: they can be very strict about noise levels. So if you want to go all out with live music or a DJ, it’s best to book someplace else.

3. Sixteen Eleven Studios

Sixteen Eleven Studios is an elastic event space that’s been used for pop-ups, exhibitions, and, of course, birthday parties. There’s no need to worry about culling your guest list since they can accommodate about a hundred attendees.
The venue has 3 separate areas, which lend themselves to a lot of flexibility. Oftentimes, clients designate one for dancing, and another for chatting or eating.
Manpower is something you wouldn’t have to worry about here. Some of their most popular add-ons include a DJ, a host, security, and a professional event photographer.
The full-service bar is also a huge hit. We find it cool that they allow one person, usually the celebrant, to drink all night at no cost as a freebie.
The only catch is that this isn’t an ideal location during the summer. Although they have an AC unit, it still gets pretty hot inside, especially if there are plenty of guests.

In the last 30 years, The Fifth Group has become known as one of the best teams for large events, hosting affairs that had more than 1000 guests. However, they can also help you arrange something more intimate but just as impactful.
Most of the birthdays they handle are held in Bibliotheque, a moody speakeasy with a capacity of 120.
Outside of this being a party venue, it’s often been described as a hidden gem with delicious food — proof that their catering is top-notch. Their chefs will even be happy to craft a menu based on your theme.
We like that the coordinators you plan with will be present on the day of the party to greet your guests and ensure that every little detail goes smoothly.
Let’s just hope that your event pushes through as planned. From what we’ve heard, they’re not the best at issuing refunds for cancellations, despite saying that they will.

A Event Space is the perfect choice for themed events, especially kids’ birthday parties with lots of color and decorations. Their spacious function hall can easily be transformed into a magical wonderland for any party.
Here, you can invite up to 200 of your loved ones to celebrate your special day. For the size of the venue, it’s definitely one of the most budget-friendly options in the city.
You won’t have to worry about setting up that much, since they’ll provide most of the equipment. The staging, sound system, light system, projector, and seating will all be taken care of.
And on the day of the party, we love that their helpful staff are ready for anything. Every request you make will be handled quickly and efficiently.
Sadly, their washrooms leave much to be desired. Some clients have complained that they aren’t always the cleanest.

Ahma provides a venue that is curated for close-knit celebrations. Although they can house up to 70 guests, they’ve had affairs with as few as 25 attendees.
Depending on your budget, you can either rent the room alone or choose one of their packages. The most hands-on one is dubbed Build-Your-Event, and it includes an on-site coordinator and plenty of planning consultations.
Over the years, their team has become known for being very meticulous and attentive. No detail will be overlooked throughout your meetings and during the actual event.
What’s nice is that you can make your celebration even more unique with one of their add-on experiences. A lot of their clients especially enjoyed the cocktail classes, live music, and curated menus.
Now, due to the venue being more on the sophisticated side, we’d say it’s primarily for an older crowd. We can’t really imagine a kid’s party happening in this space.

“I hosted my birthday party at Ahma, and what a great idea that was! It is a gorgeous and cozy event space! I had been previously and knew I wanted to go back. The ambience is sexy and chic, and Erica was a masterful bartender for our Cocktail making class. Madison was also super easy to communicate with and very accommodating.
