Downey’s farm is located in Caledon. It features a big field with many options of fruits and vegetables to pick on their land, including strawberries, raspberries, squash, pumpkins and sweet corn.

Family-operated since 1902, it offers wagon rides to their customers as well. Downey’s works on a first-come, first-served basis – so make sure to head there early so you can get the good pickings!

This farm offers other fresh produce at its market, including raspberries and seasonal pumpkins. Their on-site market features local gourmet food, seasonal ice cream and baked goods.

They don’t use pesticides on any of their produce, so you can be sure that what you’re biting into is authentically fresh.

Stonehaven has no reservation system for their strawberry picking, so be sure to head there early to get first dibs.

Brantwood Farms is located in Brantford and has been family operated and owned since 1905. They, too, offer other varieties of fresh produce and baked goods in their market.

5. Forsythe Family Farms

Forsythe Farms is keen on providing educational information on growing produce and agriculture to those who want to know about this aspect of the country’s history in a fun way.

Located in Uxbridge, they provide fun events and experiences for their customers. They implement a first-come, first-served policy, so you’ll need to be there early. If you’re simply after enjoying the fruit, they’ve got freshly-picked strawberries in their market too.

Fresh produce and baked goods are also available. If you prefer to pre-pay for your baskets online, you may visit their website – but know that they also accept in-person payments.

Forsythe also has farm animals that love visitors, and have a playground and wagon rides for fun-loving families!

Located in Markham, Organics Family Farm is a health-conscious farm that has been offering organic fresh fruits and vegetables with zero pesticides since 2001.

Organics Farm takes climate change very seriously and has found a more sustainable approach to agriculture by eliminating inorganic fertilizers. Their farming goals are to provide the greatest health benefits with the least negative effect on our environment.

This farm also has a market on-site that offers organic and locally-grown seasonal produce, as well as baked goods from their wood-fire oven. Strawberry picking is offered on a first-come, first-served basis – no prior reservations are required.

Linton’s Farm Market is located in Oshawa. It sells fresh and locally-grown fruits and vegetables, honey, maple syrup, cheese, jams, preserves, fall decorations and so much more. 

This farm has many photo opportunities for you and your family to remember the time you have spent together! Payments will have to be made before entering the field, upon arrival at the farm and market.

8. Trapper Bob Strawberry Farm  

Trapper Bob Farm is a traditional family-owned farm that has been growing their fruits for over 25 years. The farm is located in Newmarket.

They offer many other options of produce that are grown locally, and visitors are able to see them grow seasonally on their land!

Trapper Bob Farm does not provide baskets, so each individual must bring their own Tupperware, baskets or containers. The picked strawberries are charged per pound.

The farm both welcoming and family-friendly, featuring farm animals, wagon rides, a family play yard, and much more! Applewood Farm also contains a winery, so indulge in a little glass of their amazing locally-made wine.

Strawberry picking is also on a first-come, first-served basis, so try and make it an early day! The farm provides baskets for sale, but should you desire to bring your own containers, the pricing will be changed.

At Strawberry Creek, no reservations are required to go strawberry picking. Bringing your own containers, baskets or Tupperware is encouraged, but if you do not have any, they will be provided at the farm.

Rock Garden requires all their visitors to pick a minimum of one pound of strawberries so that everyone can enjoy as much as they can. We like that they teach their visitors how to pick the perfect strawberry!

15. Pingle’s Farm Market  

Pingle’s Farm Market has been in operation for over 34 years and is located in Oshawa. With a whopping 148 acres of land, the farm features fresh apples, strawberries, asparagus, pumpkins, and sunflowers. 

Pingle’s Farm has many events throughout the year, including their Harvest Festival and year-round farm market. The farm market contains freshly baked goods, fruits, vegetables, proteins, and made-in-house goodies.
