I recently took up boxing, and while it’s a great way to get fit, I quickly felt like I needed something more exciting. That’s when my trainer introduced me to Muay Thai.
Unlike regular boxing, which focuses on punches, Muay Thai uses every part of your body—elbows, knees, kicks, and even clinching! Plus, celebrities like Matthew McConaughey and Gal Gadot swear by Muay Thai to stay in top shape.
So, for those looking to spice up their fitness routine or try a new challenge, here are the best Muay Thai classes in Toronto.
How much do Muay Thai classes cost in Toronto?
Monthly memberships usually fall between $100 and $200, depending on the gym’s offerings and location.
Some gyms may also have introductory rates or free trial classes for new members.

Evoke Martial Arts has been a staple in Toronto since 2005, and their passion for inspiring positive change through martial arts really shines through.
Their Muay Thai classes are designed for anyone looking to get fit and build skills—without the pressure of becoming a professional fighter.
For beginners, their Level 1 Muay Thai classes are a great introduction, focusing on pad work, conditioning, and the core fundamentals of Muay Thai.
If you’re looking to take things to the next level, they also offer intermediate classes for those interested in sparring and honing more technical aspects of the sport.

Classes are never repetitive or boring
“I started muay thai classes around three months ago with my fiancé as a way to cut weight for our wedding. He assured me that it was the surest way to get results and he wasn’t wrong! I have now come to love the classes and will continue to train even after the wedding! Master Dayo is a great instructor and very welcoming. His classes are never repetitive or boring. The school has a very friendly environment and there is no judgment whatsoever no matter what level you are at. This is my first time training in any kind of martial arts and as a woman I fully recommend it!!”

3. MC Muay Thai Academy
MC Muay Thai Academy prides itself in providing a positive environment, where learning, resilience, and respect are prioritized.
If you’re new to Muay Thai, the Muay Thai Fundamentals class is the perfect place to dive in. This 90-minute, high-energy session will have you sweating while mastering the basic techniques and movements.
The Teens Muay Thai program is another must-try. What’s cool is that every sesh wraps up with a “critical thinking” segment, so they’re not just honing their bodies, they’re sharpening their minds too.
We did notice that their classes are a bit on the pricier side compared to other Muay Thai classes in the city. But, we think they’re worth it because they offer specialized programs too.
For instance, their Women’s-Only Muay Thai class highlights personal empowerment in a supportive, women-centered environment—totally awesome, right?
Absolutely the best Muay Thai academy
“Absolutely the best Muay Thai, and best martial arts academy I’ve ever been to.
Amazing and dedicated instructors, dedicated and thoughtful support staff (often cheering from the side as you push through). The space is clean and tidy, with a good amount of space for the sizes of classes. The classes themselves are longer than I’ve been used to which gives lots of time for instructors to come by and help you with your form. Everyone being so friendly and welcoming really helps me as a beginner to feel good before and after every class.”

5. Old School Muay Thai
Old School Muay Thai was founded in 2009 by Kru James Hines, the first student of Canada’s Muay Thai champ, Ajarn Suchart. That pedigree speaks for itself.
This spot is super welcoming to beginners, but if you’ve already got skills, their instructors will push you to level up. They even offer personal training for individuals or small groups if you want that one-on-one attention.
Classes are 90 minutes long, three times a week, giving you plenty of time to get into the grind.
New? Try their 2-week trial for $49 with unlimited classes—no strings attached. Students can score a discount too if they commit for six months.
Plus, your membership helps fund their youth-at-risk program, so you’re supporting a great cause while you train.
We did hear people mention instructors being late sometimes, which isn’t ideal. Hopefully, they’re working on that.
