How We Chose the Best Wedding Dress Shops in Toronto
1. Best for Bride
Best for Bride is all about making dreams come true. Owner Olga’s own quest for the perfect wedding dress sparked the idea for their store back in 2005, upon realizing that every bride deserves to feel special on her big day.
Winning the 2022 Consumer Choice Award is proof that customers are satisfied with their work.
We’re excited by their designer wedding gowns, crafted with European finesse and adorned with details like Swarovski crystals. We also appreciate their sizes– from 0-36 –making sure that everyone can get their dream dress.
Plus, we think their Lowest Price Guarantee offers great value– they’ll beat any price found in authorized retail stores in Canada by 10%.
As a one-stop bridal shop, they provide various bridal services, from wedding invitations and favors to decor and cakes.
However, watch out for some of their sales reps, who we heard can be a bit unfriendly.
Pros
- 19 years of experience
- Consumer Choice Award winner in 2022
- European designer gowns
- Size 0-36
- Lowest Price Guarantee
- One-stop bridal shop
Cons
- Unfriendly sales reps
I’ve definitely found my top choices here!
“What a pleasant, fun, and personable experience we had with Shawna at Best for Bride! She was attentive and patient to help find the styles I wanted and try on the styles I’ve never tried before! Since she was very knowledgeable with the inventory, we browsed and tried on a number of dresses that was recommended and was in the price range I was comfortable with. Which is amazing! And important to me! Shawna really had the Best (interest) for (the) Bride in mind 😚❤️ I’ve definitely found my top choices here! Highly recommend the bride & party to come find their dresses here!”

Susan was amazing!
“Susan was amazing! She went above and beyond ensuring that my experience was perfect. She had spent a lot of time pinning dresses to show that customized look I had imagined. She wears many hats, (tip provider, veil extraordinaire, dress psychic, gown expert, supportive best friend, guiding mother figure, spunky aunt, biggest fan) ensuring to be exactly what you need as a helping hand in the decision when you need it most. She made sure to make this moment special for my mother as well, keeping her excited and engaged. Helping to capture each moment that my mom wanted to collect. This experience wouldn’t have been as magical without her, nor do I anticipate having found the dress of my dreams.”

2. Ferré Sposa
We were quite happy with our wedding dress shopping experience at Ferré Sposa. Their bridal consultants provided us with expert advice without any pressure.
We browsed through their racks and were impressed by the selection of designers they carry, including Pronovias, Enzoani, Vera Wang, and more.
Plus, upon registering on their website, they gave us access to their entire bridal collection online, which was pretty cool. Being able to favorite dresses and book appointments online made the process so much smoother.
Their small rooms are perfect for trying on slim-fitting gowns, while the regular rooms offer a spacious setting.
Unlike other shops, they offer seasonal sample sales, where we can score amazing deals of up to 80% off.
Impressively, Ferré Sposa has been featured on platforms like the Marilyn Denis Show and WedLuxe.
We did notice that they’re a bit slow to respond to online inquiries.
Pros
- Has bridal consultants
- Wide selection of designers
- Book appointments online
- Small and regular fitting rooms
- Seasonal sample sales
- Has been featured on media platforms
Cons
- Lack of responsiveness
Amazing sample sale appointment with Kennedy!
“Had an amazing sample sale appointment with Kennedy! She was so kind, caring and her attention to detail is unmatched! Although I did not leave with a dress (it was my first ever bridal appointment), I had an excellent experience overall! Could not recommend this shop enough, and will definitely be back.”

Amazing time trying on dresses here

Exclusive European designers that you cannot find anywhere else
“Thank you Bravo Bridals! I had such a lovely experience with Lydia, who helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding! With multiple venue changes I was admittedly being a very indecisive bride, I wanted one thing and then I wanted another, but Lydia was SO patient with me. I visited the shop three times, and I guess the third time’s the charm because I found my dress! I highly recommend Bravo Bridals. They have a great staff and they carry exclusive European designers that you cannot find anywhere else in Canada. A true GEM in the city.”

4. Blu Ivory Bridal
Since 2013, Blu Ivory Bridal’s guiding principles have been love, laughter, and family. Interestingly, their name was inspired by the classic wedding saying “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”
Their boutique offers spacious changing rooms and a curated collection of trendy wedding dresses priced between $500 and $5000. Designer gowns from Essense, Kara Oceane, L’amour, Sottero, Pronovias, Ingram, and Stella York are available.
For the budget-conscious, off-the-rack sample sale gowns, as well as seasonal promos, are offered.
We also love the convenience of their appointment request system, allowing guests to pre-select six favorite gowns to start the appointment with. Each appointment lasts for one hour, and you’re even welcome to bring three guests!
Curvy sizes up to size 22 are also on the table, which adds to their inclusivity.
Sadly, we heard about some clients who felt their consultants weren’t accommodating enough.

The best bridal shop in Toronto!
“The best bridal shop in Toronto! Such a fantastic experience. Bri was incredibly helpful – guiding me through the process, noting my preferences, and eventually even found my perfect dress!! The ambiance at the shop is magical, and the appointment was so fun and enjoyable (as it should be! I’ve been to other shops where it felt very stressful and I felt pressured). I was on a tight timeline and they were able to help me make it work. I am so thankful to them for this experience and cannot recommend them enough!”

5. Sash + Bustle
We’re thrilled with Sash + Bustle’s unique collection of dresses exclusive to their shop. It’s clear that Vanessa and Andrea, the co-owners, have poured their hearts into curating a selection that truly stands out.
We enjoyed browsing through the exclusive designs from top designers like Aesling, Alyne, Tara Lauren, Watters, and Robert Bullock. The wedding dresses’ moderate price points made them even more appealing.
What’s more, their personalized service, provided by knowledgeable stylists, made us feel valued and supported throughout our appointment.
The complementary accessories such as jewelry, headpieces, belts, and shoes also made it easier for us to shop for accessories.
They’re known for hosting special events. In fact, we can’t wait to return for one of their upcoming trunk shows!
Unfortunately, some customers had issues with incorrect measurements, leading to dresses needing major alterations. Be sure to double-check your measurements to prevent this.
Pros
- Wedding dresses exclusive to their shop
- Exclusive designs from top designers
- Moderate price points
- Personalized service with stylists
- Complementary accessories available
- Hosts special events
Cons

Completely exceeded my expectations, and I left with a dress!!
“I had a really amazing experience with buying my gown at Sash + Bustle! I made one of their regular appoints in November 2023, about two weeks before the appointment. I wanted to bring a higher guest count than their website suggested/allowed, so I contacted the store ahead of time to ask if this could be accommodated. We arrived promptly on time and they were ready for us right away. They provided everyone with little slippers and brought us upstairs to a private room. I was helped by Stevie who was absolutely so kind and wonderful, super attentive, aware of my budget and totally knew the style of dress I was going for. They helped us with water and had a great playlist. The appointment was set for 75 minutes, but as there was none after me, they ended up letting me stay a totally of two and half (!!!!) hours, almost until closing. It was way more than I expected and so kind. They completely exceeded my expectations, and I left with a dress!! They even took some little Polaroid photos of myself with my family who I brought. I would definitely recommend coming here!”

Dresses/styles are stunning w/ inclusive sizing
“Never in a million years did I expect to find my wedding dress on Sunday. I booked an impromptu fitting last week and had an amazing experience – I wouldn’t even bother going to another store if I were you! This is it. Ella was my dress consultant and she was fabulous, thorough and obviously very good at what she does. When we arrived we were given slippers and were allowed to browse some of the dresses and accessories at the front. Once my party had arrived Ella took us to our private room with waters waiting. We spent the next 15 minutes discussing my vision for a dress and more importantly, how I wanted to feel. She was so patient and kind throughout this process! Ella took my group downstairs and that’s when we got to “play”. She let me select dresses but encouraged that I select based on that gut feeling. We ended up pulling a good amount of dresses, which Ella narrowed down for us. By the time I put on dress number 4 or 5 I had landed on the one. I was never pressured, and Ella really made sure I was ready to say yes to the dress. I think by the end of it we were there for 2+ hours and we were never pressured to leave or buy anything. Ella is incredible at what she does and I would recommend her to everyone I know. Her energy was stellar – she honestly felt like another one of my bridesmaids! Sash and Bustle treats their clientele so well, and it’s obvious why they are one of the top stores in the city. To top it off their dresses/styles are stunning w/ inclusive sizing which is a plus.”

Their impressive lineup of designers, including Pronovias, Essense of Australia, Stella York, and many more, offered a wide range of styles to choose from.
We browsed through their extensive collection, finding sizes from 6 to 24 to fit every body type.
We also learned that by booking an appointment with their experienced consultants, you’d have access to awesome discounts on exclusive gowns and accessories in-store.
Unlike other bridal shops, they offer virtual appointments and up-close videos and photos of the gown with full details.
However, we were disappointed to hear reports of pricey alterations costing around $200 to $300 additional, and the policy of no returns or refunds on online orders.

She had made my experience one I’ll never forget, and because of her help we ended up crying tears of joy at realizing I found my dress. Thank you Ave 22 off The Rack! Such beautiful dress selections as well :)”

Wasn’t pushy and gave me all the space and time I needed
“I said yes to the dress today! I had an excellent experience at Ave 22 OTR! In my initial bridal appointment Enrica helped me (they have a beautiful selection) and I shortlisted three (one of which I had a gut feeling would be THE ONE)! I went to a few other places after that appointment to see if I’d get that feeling with any other dress but nope! I knew I had to go back and say YES to my dress. Enrica made me feel so comfortable, she wasn’t pushy at all and gave me all the space and time I needed to make my decision. Thank you!”

Took into consideration the style I wanted as well as my budget
“Camellia was the 3rd location I went to and was by far the best experience. The staff was attentive and took into consideration the style I wanted as well as my budget. They didn’t leave me to do everything myself or hover as I took my time looking at the dresses and seeing how I felt in them. Everything was explained in detail and their communication while waiting for my dress to come in was truly appreciated. I truly had an once in lifetime moment when I put on the dress that I chose and I will forever remember the experience.”

Was able to pull some stunning options that fit my budget
“My entire experience at LoversLand was a dream – I was overwhelmed when I went in to try on dresses the first time with a large group, but Danielle made me feel so comfortable, excited and beautiful! What I remember most is that she had my back 100% throughout the try-on process. She wanted to make sure I was totally happy, without taking in other opinions too much. The selection of dresses at LoversLand is incredible, and Danielle was able to pull some stunning options that fit my budget. When I went back to purchase my amazing dress, the woman working (I’m so sorry I can’t remember the name – thinking it was Hannah??) was also so kind and I felt that she was genuinely excited for me and the dress I chose! I would absolutely recommend LoversLand if you’re looking for something cool, different, and stylish in a shop that exudes lovely vibes. I can’t wait for my perfect dress to be ready!!!”

We love that they have something for every bride. They carry over 500 dresses, ranging from $800 and up, and a selection of dresses priced at $500 and under.
Their EcoChic Bridal collection also offers one-of-a-kind dresses that are upcycled, redesigned, or made from scratch exclusively for The Brides Project.

The service I received in person was flawless
“I loved everything about the Bride’s Project. I love their mission-to help cancer research while helping brides get deals on their dresses-the process to book an appointment was easy and straightforward (you get the whole place to yourself) and the service I received in-person was flawless. I bought dresses on MISSAC to try to save on my dress, never even thinking I could afford a designer dress. But I found the one within my budget and it was the first dress I tried on! Wonderful place, highly recommended. Pros: designer dresses at a fraction of the cost, minimal alternations needed (you try dresses close to your size), wonderful service, feel good to be giving toma good cause. Cons: used dresses, limited choices on dress designs (only what they have in stock).”

So grateful for such a unique, heartfelt, and special experience
“I had such an amazing experience at the Brides’ Project! I love the cause that they have committed to, and I think the entire concept of the store is so incredibly cool. The staff were so friendly, gave incredible advice, and it really felt like a private and non-rushed experience. I tried on so many incredible dresses, and ended up purchasing such a beautiful dres with the most gorgeous beading. I am so grateful for such a unique, heartfelt, and special experience. I found the dress of my dreams at Papilio
“I found the dress of my dreams at Papilio. Their selection is so dreamy and the staff — especially my consultant, is so friendly & honest. I truly enjoyed my experience at Papilio. Not only did I find my dream dress, I also am customizing my dress with them & they helped me custom make an incredible veil to match my dress. I am so glad I found Papilio. I wish I could have bought every dress in their inventory. Would HIGHLY recommend.”

The one on one consultation was amazing
“I visited Papilio on Saturday to look for my Wedding dress. It was the third stop of the day and I’m glad we saved the best for last. The one on one consultation was amazing. They had ready the dresses I said I was interested in and had some other options that matched my style. They listened so well to what I liked and didn’t like about each dress I tried on. I was blessed to find my wedding dress. My family who was with me all agreed when I walked out that it was THE dress & that it matched everything we were searching for that day. They were also able to accommodate some minor changes I wanted to make to the dress to make it absolutely perfect without any additional charge. I’m so happy I was able to find the perfect dress within my price range and have such supportive and accommodating women to help me along that journey. I would recommend them for anyone wanting an excellent wedding shopping experience with a consultant who listens and truly wants to help you find the perfect dress for you.”
