What’s really cool is that all their project instructors come from the industry. Plus, they have an internship program, a career services department, and co-op services that help students get real-world experience—great for job hunting.

Something to keep in mind, however, is that we heard reports of unorganized classes (e.g. abrupt schedule changes, etc.).

I got a good job right after my graduation

“I have recently graduated from one-year diploma program “Structural Engineering Design and Technology” and I am excited to mention that I got a good job right after my graduation. Although I have studied at different universities and in different countries in the past, studying at Metro College under direct supervision of Dr. Jawdat Tashan, the structural engineering genius, was the best choice I have ever made. Thanks to Dr. Jawdat Tashan for creating such a useful syllabus! Also thanks to Anna (Senior Admission Advisor) and the college management for their continuous cooperation! I highly recommend the college for those who want to gain not only the knowledge in their field, but also confidence.”

My experience at General Assembly was amazing!

“My experience at General Assembly was amazing! I never thought I could learn how to code, but enrolling in the Software Engineering Immersive Program at GA proved me wrong. It was definitely challenging (learning programming is NOT easy), but I felt like everyone, including my peers, instructors, and TA’s, were extremely supportive and genuinely cared about my learning experience. It was worth all the effort and every cent. I would absolutely recommend GA to anyone interested in learning Software Engineering (or Data Science or UX Design) and I would encourage them to challenge themselves and to learn more. ANYONE can do it, you just need to have the will to learn. And a HUGE shoutout to Alex, Aidan, Dennis, Afira, Meaghan, and George!!!”

I honestly didn’t want the course to end. It’s a really good learning environment full of amazingly skillful and welcoming people that are always available to chat, discuss ideas & guide you… I also ended up making friendships at GA!”

University of Toronto’s Department of Engineering has been training engineers since practically the dawn of time (well, 1871). Today, they offer a top-notch Master of Engineering (MEng) program that provides advanced professional training.

We like that their MEng program is super flexible—you can go full-time and finish in 12 months, extend it to two years, or even take it part-time.

And you can add a certificate or choose an area like Analytics, Robotics & Mechatronics, or Advanced Manufacturing. Certificate options include Computational Mechanics, Financial Engineering, Healthcare Engineering, and more.

Finance-wise, UofT seems to have your back, offering Teaching Assistantships and financial aid resources to help manage the costs. There’s even a career center to get you prepped for that dream engineering job.
