Great food – but may need to indicate spice levels
“Innovative and delicious food to try. Ordered the “Hot as Cluck” with the plain waffles. They were scrumptious, however, I would have liked more sauce in my waffle sandwich. I did feel that it was a little dry. I also would have liked to pick a more spicy option as I was under the assumption that the chicken would’ve been spicy.
For sides we ordered wedges and loaded fries. Both were good and worth ordering. I personally preferred the wedges as they were better seasoned, and went well with the cluck sauce.
The service was nice, the server and cook were both kind as well. Next time I would’ve liked it if the service was a little faster. Overall, I recommend people to visit as it’s a great place to try a unique experience.”

Fast service, good food, kid-friendly
“This is my second time visiting Cluck Cluck’s chicken and waffles at this location and I would highly recommend! The food is great, very fast and best of all halal! The service was also timely and excellent and we only had a short wait for our food. We tried the cluck cluck fries with the spicy aioli sauce and the cluck cluck chicken and waffles sandwich with pickles and both were amazing. The atmosphere is warm and is nice. I am from the US and I always make sure to visit this place when I am in Toronto. Would highly recommend!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!”

Crowded, good food – but can be better
“Maybe i am just disappointed cause I had much higher expectations.
The service and atmosphere were good. The restaurant was crowded so we sat at the counter, but the bartender still made sure that our glass of water was always full and made sure we were having a good time throughout the night. Also extra point for Birra Moretti on tap.
On the other hand, pizza was just not good. The menu has good options, and we went for margherita and casereccia.
Overall the quality of ingredients was not very high, dough still flat and not properly proofed, basil burnet and tasted like mint, pizza underneath way too dark.
As an Italian myself i can guarantee you can find way better pizzas in Toronto.”

Great spot, great service, fair prices
“Fantastic experience with the food and service. We sat at the bar as the restaurant was full but the service did not suffer. We were walking in the neighborhood and just stumbled on this and am totally glad we did. The bartender was courteous and kept checking up on us and the food was amazing. Price is fair compared to neighboring restaurants. Will return for sure.”

Great ambiance, fantastic vegan food choices
“I am pure vegetarian. I visited this vegan restaurant today. It was a treat to my eyes and tongue to see and taste such delicious vegan food. The staff is very cooperative. The Ambience is beautiful. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting available. We had ordered the ultimate cheeseburger and bbq ranch burger. They tasted delicious. They also have many other vegan options which include meat(meat which is made from plants but tastes like meat). It’s a must try restaurant.”

Plant-friendly spot, great decor, good vegan deals
“I wish I got more pictures of the inside, because the atmosphere of this place is really quite something! Lots of greenery — some real, some not — really giving the space a beautiful vegetative touch!
The food was amazing. No complaints whatsoever but I recommend the cauliflower bites to start because they were really great (both buffalo and bbq).
Friendly staff, comfy seating, and enjoying it all with great company.. 5/5 easy!”

Great options, flavourful meats and dipping sauces
“Amazing Yakiniku with tons of meat/grill options along with an expansive kitchen/pre cooked options.
Prices are very reasonable considering the portions and quality, and they also have happy hour specials.
I think it would take most people a few visits to find what they really like here as there are so many options, and while some a pretty similar to eachother, there are definitely some standouts and flavors unique to Gyu-kaku. Our favourite was the umakara rib eye and pork, prime Kalbi Short rib, and miso duck breast. The cheese corn butter is a must imo, but they also provide a variety of sauces to dip your meats – our favourite being the “premium dipping sauce” that came with the short rib.
One minor complaint is that the cooking surface for the grill was either not oiled enough or hot enough so we were experiencing some sticking with the meats, but overall an excellent experience and meal and we’ll definitely be back to continue to eat our way through the menu.”

Cons
- Can get busy during peak hours
- Flavours may be a bit too intense for some
- Can get a little noisy at times
Halal food, diverse options, may need more dessert selections
“This is my go to Thai spot in downtown Toronto! I’ve come here several times with friends, family and colleagues as well. The quality of food here is top notch for a very reasonable price.
My go to is usually the pad Thai, but the fish dishes are very delicious as well, crispy and come with a large amount of protein. What I love most about this restaurant is that the meat offered here is all halal, which makes it easier for Muslim’s to eat chicken or beef dishes.
The seating arrangements are also ideal as you can easily book a place to eat well in advance, and reserve seating for your night out. One recommendation I have for this place is to expand their desert options, it would be great to have a greater selection of desert dishes to choose from.
Dietary restrictions: Halal dietary restriction are offered.”

Fast service, good food, kid-friendly
“Very delicious Thai food. I was with a group of 6 and we dined in on Tuesday night at 6:30 (with reservations). I was surprised that it was very busy. Outside of the restaurant had a lot of loitering food delivery bikers.
Food came fast (menu available via scan QR code). I ordered the Khao Soi with chicken. My craving was satisfied. I requested mild but it had a little kick. I also had the Thai Iced Tea. I found it a tad too sweet. My friends had their favourite, Pad Thai. They loved it.
I loved the decor inside the restaurant. I found the music too loud so I felt like I was screaming to talk to my friends.
Overall, delicious food. I would definitely come back when I’m in this area.”
