Even once they’ve passed away, we know that you’ll still want the best for your loved ones. That’s why we compiled a list of the best cremation services in Toronto to aid you in these tough times.
Apart from the range of services and cost, we also selected them for the care and compassion they’re able to give. Though there isn’t any measurement for this, we connected with their past clients to hear their thoughts on the matter.
We’ll also cover the costs of cremation services first before going into the reviews. We know it’s a valid concern, after all.
The Cost of Cremation Services in Toronto
The costs depend on whether you only need a basic cremation or a cremation plus a funeral service. It also depends on the funeral home making this arrangement and how much they usually charge.
A basic cremation starts at around $1,500. For cremations with a full funeral service, the costs start at $4,000.
Depending on the included service (viewing, flowers, etc.) the cost can go up to $8,000. It’s a bit pricey, but compared to a traditional burial that can easily cost you $15,000, it’s a much cheaper option.
The Best Funeral Homes for Cremation Services
As you can see, even dying comes at a cost. But to be fair, it’s the final expense you’ll have to pay for your lost loved one.
Knowing this, you deserve cremation services that can take care of you and the deceased for the last time.
Here are the best cremation services you can find in Toronto:

Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel offers both pre-planned and immediate cremation services. This makes them a great choice for unexpected deaths or for one that may come in the far future.
One of the first things we appreciated was their 24-hour working window that makes urgent cremations possible. You’ll only have to send a form and they’ll get back to you in 15 minutes.
Their cremation services are also competitively priced at $2,670. For this amount, you’ll get coordinated activities, transfer of remains, documentation, and facility to hold the deceased.
If you want a funeral service with cremation, you can reach out to them to customize your service. But basically, you can choose between three cremation packages: Honor, Heritage, and Legacy.
On their site, they’ll list specific services per package, but they also added a few recommendations that bump up the price.
If you purchase these recommendations, the Honor will cost you $8,543 while Heritage will cost you $9,968. Legacy is the most expensive one at $13,308.
Note that you can still get a lower value if you take out the catering services plus other services you don’t need. We highly recommended discussing this matter with them to truly find the right package for you.
Another thing we liked about them is their cremation remembrance items, which can forever remind you of your loved one. You can get pendants, charms, and memory tags from $85 to $350.
As a final note, you’ll also get an option for home or mail delivery of the ashes plus scattering assistance. They also have flexible event spaces to hold funerals.

Customer Reviews
Excellent services from caring and thoughtful staff
The staff at Rosar Morrison funeral home are fantastic. They made great suggestions, they were patient and they were helpful. As sad a time as losing a loved one is, you still need help in making sure that the next steps run smoothly. We felt as though we were in good hands and it allowed us to take time to mourn the loss, rather than to worry too much about funeral arrangements. The service we received from the staff at Rosar Morrison was excellent. Melissa, the funeral home director is a caring and thoughtful person who is a great listener and easy to talk to. Our family is grateful to her and the funeral home for all of their assistance during such a sad and stressful time. It really helped. – Elias Paisley
Makes arrangements to make client’s needs
The staff, in particular Michael Kessel, were outstanding and very kind. He even came in on his day off to meet with us and make sure all arrangements were exactly as we wanted. His positive presence throughout was a welcome respite from the horrible reality of losing my 47yr old wife. He went out of his way to be kind and accommodate my wishes and this helped to make the experience bearable. Highly recommend Rosar-Morrison. – Howard Moore
2. Affordable Burials & Cremations
SERVICES | Cremation, online tributes, planning, memorial site, urns, public viewings and visitations, chapel or graveside service & keepsakes |

Affordable Burials & Cremations truly lives up to its name for cremation services. Plus, they offer a simplified booking process, allowing you the time you need to mourn instead of obliging you to busy yourself with arrangements.
Their standard cremation is one of the cheapest we’ve come across in Toronto at only $1,560. If you want to spend 15 minutes with the deceased, you have to pay $2,096.
Getting an hour of service at the chapel will set you back $2,893. We favor this because it’s still relatively affordable, but note that it doesn’t offer special add-ons to make the gathering more remarkable.
Speaking of gatherings, you can request a custom quote easily as they’re open 24 hours. And you don’t have to worry about the costs because there are no hidden fees – you’ll only have to pay for the quote they gave you.
If you want to get their pre-arranged cremation services, the process is the same. We would love to see more comprehensive packages in the future but at least you get complete freedom to plan your service.
Overall, this service is great for affordable cremation services with seamless booking and easy communication. You’ll also love how they’ll stick with you in preparing documents with a straightforward approach.
Pros
- Open 24/7/365
- Best for affordable basic cremation services
- Affordable cremations with timed gathering

Extraordinary service the exceeds expectations
This review is for the extraordinary service provided by Fatima over at Affordable Burials & Cremations. First off, I would like to comment at Fatima’s attention to detail and this is needed as when our loved ones passes away we are not in the greatest frame of mind so having someone explain all the steps required is essential. Everything was laid out to me in terms of all the activities and costs with no hidden fees. Within 5 days my father was safely cremated and put away peacefully which far exceeds my family expectations during these pandemic times. On behalf of the Wong family, I would like to thank Fatima and her crew for making this a seamless experience. – Henry Wong
Assists in every step of the way
My father passed away after a lengthy illness. Affordable Burials and Cremations made the process extremely smooth without any problems. They informed me every step of the way, no hidden costs, and basically did all the paperwork I needed. I was expecting a long, expensive, tedious process at a very stressful time especially during this pandemic. Fatima was so kind and knowledgeable about the process and never made me feel like just a number. I am extremely happy with the service they provided and recommend them to anyone. – Jenn Lakos

Basic Funeral and Cremation Choices offer direct cremation and funeral with cremation services. They also provide pre-planning options and worldwide shipping of cremated remains.
We liked how comprehensive the tiers are per service you get. Basically, there are three tiers that would define the additional services you get and the cost: budget, basic, and priority.
For basic cremation, you’ll have to pay $1,499 to $2,999 depending on the tier you get. There is no exact quote per tier since the additional services are all up to you.
Under funeral-with-cremation services, you have the option to go for a traditional funeral or hold a simple memorial service. Though they seem the same, note that the traditional funeral is more expensive at $4,000 to $6,000.
If you simply want to say goodbye for a short period, you can pay $2,500 to $3,500 for a 30-minute final viewing with cremation. We recommend this if you’re not waiting for any family members or friends to see the deceased.
Apart from these straightforward services, we also like how they ship cremation remains worldwide. The best part is, they’ll do all the necessary steps on your behalf and even translate documents if necessary.
If you want to get a quote, you can fill up their form and a funeral director will send you a custom quote guaranteed for 60 days. Their approach is also comprehensive, taking the responsibility off your hands while you mourn.

Everyone I spoke with was highly impressed by what they saw at the funeral and family by the way things were conducted behind the scenes. Cremation Care offers some of the most affordable cremation services we’ve encountered. And all these services come with a comprehensive plan that you can easily customize.
They only offer three plans but each already covers the basics of cremation services. These include documentation, transfer, sheltering, proof of death, and more.
Their most basic plan is called Cremation Care and only costs $1,222. This price is even lower than the lowest average in the city so you’re already getting a good deal.
If we could recommend one plan, consider their Private Farewell Care that costs $1,529. This plan has all the services that the basic plan offers, plus you get a 30-minute private farewell, basic dressing, and 5 more pieces of proof of death.
But if you prefer a plan that comes with government benefits assistance, delivery of ashes, and unlimited proof of death documents, you can get the Complete Care plan for $1,789.
The good news is, the customization doesn’t end here and this is where their interactive planning tool comes useful. Through this tool, you can select your own casket, urn, jewelry, and added care.
This entire process makes it easy for you to see your options better and their costs. But it can take a bit of time if you need immediate cremation services.

Timely first-class service
I highly recommend The CremationCare Centre. Their professionalism, timely responses and services are first class. The management and staff were extremely helpful, empathetic and kind. Their pricing was very reasonable. Involving their services lifted a huge weight off my shoulders in a somewhat unusual case. I cannot begin to thank them enough for the relief I had involving them to service my needs. I am so impressed I will be making arrangements for myself so that my children and I have peace of mind for the future. – Katherine Mulyk
Kind staff who understood familial complexities
The CreemationCare Centre was recommended to me when my husband passed away in April 2021. I was told it was a one-stop shop Funeral Home so to speak which was indeed the case. Given the pandemic, a small funeral was held with FaceTime permitted for the mourners who could not take part. When my son and I visited the Centre, we were particularly struck by two things…they did not try to oversell their tasteful products and the kindness of the staff who understood family complexities and arranged things accordingly. My sincere thanks to Erin. – Anne Green

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Cremation Company
Losing a loved one is truly heartbreaking, and sending them off properly is what everyone would want. Keep in mind that this is still a big decision despite your grief, and that it typically requires a lot of factors and planning.
To help you out, we’ve put together a guide to how you can choose a cremation company that can assist you with the sendoff. Here are some things to take into account.
Process and Facilities
The very first thing you should ask about is the crematory process. How will they take care of the body of your loved one? Do they have the facilities to hold both a cremation and a funeral?
Some crematory companies don’t have a gathering place, so you should be aware of the exclusion.
In addition, you have to know if they have a funeral home or if you still need to find another place to safe-keep your passed loved one.
It’s recommended to find a crematory company that has all of these things for convenience.
Services Included
Once you know how the process will flow, you would also want to ask about the services included. You want to know whether the package includes an urn, keepsakes, caskets, and other personalization items.
Funeral homes are generally transparent regarding the pricing and the services they will provide, so you wouldn’t have to worry about surprise charges. If you think that the prices and services suit your taste, then hiring them is a good choice.
Gathering Type
The third thing you need to consider is what kind of gathering they can offer. Ask if you can rent a casket and if they have a space where you can have the gathering.
Also, ask if you can have some services changed or add something to it like catering services. Of course, this would also change the price.
Client Testimonials
Lastly, before choosing a cremation service provider, you have to know whether their past clients were satisfied. Do they feel that the crematorium provides the right services?
To narrow things down, try to get in touch with the people who have tried the cremation service provider. Review their feedback and make your decision based on how well they fit your needs.
