Apart from the relative affordability, clients can also generally expect thorough testing and comprehensive aftercare. Prior to the procedure, tests are done twice, which can help with peace of mind since everything is basically double-checked.

Consultants also take the time to walk the patients through the steps of the procedure. This in turn results in less anxiety and a more comfortable experience, according to the clients we’ve interviewed.

Following the procedure, the clinic provides patients with a bag filled with items to assist in their fast recovery. Although not unique, when matched with their constant follow-ups, this post-procedure stage easily beats most of the competition.

In our opinion, what really sets the clinic apart is their Herzig Eye Institute’s High Definition Vision® solutions. In general, these solutions involve comprehensive diagnostics, thorough tests and consultations, and the use of an appropriate vision correction lane.

What makes their process unique is that they include a lifestyle assessment for all patients. This is particularly useful to help them achieve their post-operation goals, whether they’re a reader, a passionate athlete, or an amateur driver.

Once matched with the right procedure, clients receive a personalized treatment plan. Apart from the generally high success rates, they also earned our favor by offering a lifetime guarantee on the procedures they performed.

What this means is that they’ll perform a vision enhancement (if medically necessary) at no extra cost. In addition, they also offer a year of post-operative care on their refractive procedures (fees already covered on initial payment). 

Although they promise competitive rates, we’re quite disappointed seeing the fees some clients had to pay. But apart from this and the occasionally chaotic customer services, they’re very solid.

North Toronto Eye Surgery Centre has been in the business of vision correction for more than 25 years. Their range of services includes both medical and cosmetic procedures performed by seasoned professionals.

As with other eye clinics, this one also provides a customized treatment plan based on your diagnosis. However, they get an advantage when it comes to accessibility with eye surgeons because they’re partnered with North Toronto Eye Care.

The same professionals will perform both the pre- and post-surgery examinations on the patients. In our opinion, this is better than having the clients go to their own eye care specialist because it streamlines the assessment.

Apart from that, we also favor its ocular diagnostics technology, not only because it’s advanced and modern, but also because it’s cost-effective. It’s one way to save on surgeries, at least before the actual procedure.

Speaking of the procedure, the majority of the clients we surveyed reported that they experienced impressive progress. On average, recovery times take about a week but it will still depend on your procedure and your level of risk.

We only encountered minor issues when setting appointments via phone call which feels a bit rushed. Beyond that, we have no qualms with what we’ve seen in this clinic and the services they offer.

In our opinion, what makes this clinic different is their no-cut laser eye procedure. We favor this because traditional laser surgery is more prone to flap-related complications and this procedure eliminates that risk.

Another thing that we liked is that clients are handled by only one and one doctor alone throughout the process. Dr. Goldberg will be with you from the initial consultation up until your follow-up examinations.

Now that we’ve mentioned consultations, we like that there’s an option so consult with him remotely. This makes it a convenient option for patients who have tight schedules and can’t drive personally to the clinic.

Consultations are free and there is no pressure to proceed with the surgery whatsoever. Plus, there are occasional promotions that can help you save a couple of dollars before your procedure.

The only major concern we have is that it’s difficult to assess exactly what you’re paying for. But other than the confusing pricing structure, we’re pleased with this eye clinic.
