Under the leading healthcare system Sovereign MD, Sovereign Skin is a cosmetic treatment clinic based in Toronto. This non-surgical place prides itself on having doctors, nurses, estheticians, and technicians who know how to care for the skin.
The treatment of acne and acne scars are considered as some of their flagship services, given their expertise in the matter. They have various procedures that deal with acne and acne scarring, reflecting their knowledge and versatility.
For mild cases, they usually suggest a series of silk peel facials. We like this because it cleanses the face and gently allows it to resurface.
Another peel method they have is chemical peel, which is proven to treat persistent breakouts and deep acne scars. We find that this one is conducted at their skin clinic in 2-week intervals, which isn’t bad at all.
Laser treatments such as IPL, ebrium, and CO2 are also available for acne treatment. Sovereign Skin has appropriate equipment for these, along with aftercare creams recommended for each procedure.
We like this clinic’s interiors and overall look as it presents luxury and comfort altogether. We do note that given all these advantages, quotes for each of their acne treatment procedures can be higher than most.

With well-equipped and well-maintained clinics in both downtown and uptown Toronto, NewDermaMed is one of the most popular cosmetic clinics in the area. They have consistently been awarded as the best cosmetic clinic in Toronto since 2018.
Experienced and professional board-certified cosmetic surges and nurses make up their team, so you can guarantee that you are in safe hands. They will examine what type of acne scar you have and recommend the most appropriate laser treatment.
We like the fact that they perform fractional laser treatment, which is recognised as the most advanced treatment for acne scarring. This shows how innovative and updated they are with the latest in skin treatments.
They also have twinlight fractional rejuvenation for red acne scars and dual fractional laser skin resurfacing that is best to handle damaged skin.
Before and after photos can be seen on their website and these are honestly impressive, as you can really see how the skin of their clients cleared up. We also like how they have frequently asked questions and acne scar types discussed.
We do warn that bookings can get a little messy given that they have two locations. A few previous customers also have complaints about this, but we do note that the good comments more than outweigh than the bad ones.
We also found that prices usually go up over the years. While this isn’t entirely alarming, we believe that they should address it and strategise on their pricing.
Overall, we recommend them simply because they are award-winning and are trusted by many.

Q Esthetics first opened in 2001 and they were initially recognised as a laser clinic. Now, the service has various comprehensive esthetic skin solutions and is visited by many in the Greater Toronto Area.
In terms of acne scar treatment, this place focuses on improving the appearance of acne scarring and eliminating breakouts. They regularly perform microneedling, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and light therapy for mild cases.
Laser treatments such as CO2 laser, fractional laser, and Picosure laser are performed for deep acne scars. These are usually less invasive and the clinic even combines them with other techniques to ensure that the procedures are successful.
What we like most about Q Esthetics is the fact that they thoroughly examine one’s complexion prior to recommending a procedure and other techniques. This is particularly impressive because it makes the service seem bespoke for each client.
They also discuss the different types of acne scars and even discuss with patients how these can be avoided depending on their skin type.
However, we warn that the rates displayed on their website are only starting prices. Several customers also note how expensive they charge, so we hope that they can address this pressing matter.
In addition, we find that their clinic is a little smaller than their competitors’, so this can be a bit of a setback. Still, the place is well-equipped and well-sanitised, so it’s really more of an accommodation and space issue.
We recommend Q Esthetics because of their tenure. They were also voted as the 2020 top choice for medical spa in the Greater Toronto Area.

4. Renovo Medical Clinic
|ADDRESS||36 Park Lawn Rd Unit 6, Etobicoke, Ontario|

Performing medically supervised aesthetic procedures is Renovo Medical Clinic in Toronto. This clinic also has two other locations in Canada, one in Vaughan and one in Hamilton.
The first branch of Renovo Medical Clinic was established in Stoney Creek, Hamilton in 2014. As far as experience is concerned, we can say that the Toronto branch can be considered a little young.
We do note that the head of Renovo, Dr. Sameh Michael, graduated in the year 1991 and has been receiving dermatological training and gaining experience in the field since then. This makes his supervision reliable.
Acne scar removal in this clinic starts with a free and no obligation consultation. This makes a great strategy in our opinion, as it makes good marketing while being able to showcase expertise and genuine concern for patients.
Their procedures are mostly chemical peels and laser treatments, which are common for acne scars. What’s unique is the fact that they use Alumier chemical peels, which can either be AHA, BHA, or enzyme peels.
For laser treatments, they usually use Fotona 3D and 4D laser peels. While being brand specific makes them stand out, this can also be a dealbreaker as other clinics have way more options.
We also note that their customer service is sometimes hard to reach, which they should address. Some patients say they struggle to speak with someone or even get a call back.
Renovo Medical Clinic is reliable simply because of the medical supervision along with their treatments. Their procedures are done with caution and their rates are good as well.
The results are excellent, and the price is very reasonable
“This was my second visit. When I visit, I am never disappointed. The doctor is wonderful, as is the entire staff, including Hala, the manager.
I went for a skin treatment this time. They use a Fotona machine, which I absolutely adore. When compared to other places of lower quality, the results are excellent, and the price is very reasonable.
I was very pleased with the outcome. I wholeheartedly recommend the clinic to anyone. Thanks” — Ges Booth, via Google
My skin is very radiant, and I’m very happy and proud of it
“This skin clinic is amazing! Not only is the ambiance soothing, but the people are as well! I’m hesitant to ask about my skin problem, but Dr. Michael and his assistant put me at ease.
Now that I’ve had my treatment for 6 months, my skin is very radiant, and I’m very happy and proud of it.” — Beth Gatherer, via Google
5. Dermapure Toronto
|ADDRESS||22 Karl Fraser Rd, North York, Ontario|
|CONTACT INFORMATION||+1 647-699-3418|
Monday to Saturday
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
The first Dermapure clinic was opened in 2009 and the brand now has 15 clinics all over Canada, making it a popular skin clinic in the country. This place specialises in high-end aesthetic medicine.
We included Dermapure simply because they have services that can address acne scar problems. Fractional laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light, and acid peels are all performed in line with acne scarring.
They made the cut because they focus on their services well and carefully assess whether or not these can actually help their patients. We like the fact that they also have anti-acne facials to prevent their patients from having more or new acne scars.
Dermapure is a great place because apart from treating acne scars, they also recommend other relevant services and procedures to improve the patient’s skin. Sometimes, they even suggest those that will assist in acne prevention and/or cure.
We do note that not all of the services that Dermapure offers are performed in Toronto. This isn’t really alarming, but it can take a toll on the branch itself.
The Toronto clinic isn’t that big as well, so you really have to secure an appointment. We do admire how they maintain their space elegantly despite its size.
Dermapure deserves a recommendation simply because of their general concern for better skin and their commitment to aesthetic medicine. They will not only treat your acne, they will also find ways to show and enhance your beauty.
