Did you know that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer? I didn’t either until my uncle mentioned it. He recently had to call in pros after a home radon test showed dangerously high levels building up in his basement.
It turns out radon comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and groundwater, and it can seep into homes through tiny cracks or gaps without any warning. Scary! That sent me down a rabbit hole of research.
So who do you call when you want to keep your home safe? I rounded up the best radon mitigation experts in Toronto to help you breathe easier.
How much do radon mitigation services cost in Toronto?
Radon mitigation services in Toronto cost around $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the size of the house and the complexity of the mitigation system. For more difficult installs, the price can go up to $10,000.
1. Radon Gas Expert

Business Hours: Mon – Sat: 8 AM–9 PM
Radon Gas Expert provides radon testing and mitigation services across Southern Ontario, backed by their official C-NRPP certifications.
They’re a popular go-to for local homes and businesses. This is not surprising, since they create custom solutions instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach.
For instance, they install soil depressurization systems that collect radon and other soil gases underneath buildings before they make their way inside. They also make an effort to make them unobtrusive and blend into the property neatly.
Their team even guarantees results in writing; they promise to reduce radon levels below Health Canada’s recommended action limit.
While their radon-related services seem great, we heard about their staff who come off as rude over the phone—something to watch out for.
Radon levels have been reduced to the lowest level
“I would have no trouble recommending Radon Gas Experts for radon mitigation. Michael Martin was very professional, did what was needed, and explained the process beforehand. The radon levels have been reduced to the lowest level on the scale. Very pleased.”

Was able to reduce my radon levels to almost zero
“Michael M. is a true master of his craft. From the first call, where he provided all the technical information (sometimes too much), up to the thorough job of testing and installation. He is obsessed with quality and has the tact of a true customer service rep with many years of experience. My expectations were managed from the start, and the radon mitigation device was able to reduce my levels to almost zero. I am only able to work and bring kids to my basement carefree now (after so many cancer cases in my family in the past) because of Michael’s excellent work. Thank you! Definitely recommend… the price is not the cheapest but the value is fully there.”

2. Mr. Radon

Mr. Radon began in 2005 when Maureen Wood realized Ontario lacked companies that could fix high radon levels. So, she teamed up with her husband to start one.
What impressed us right off the bat is their major role in forming CARST and C-NRRP, helping create the radon standards and guidelines that Canada uses today.
Given their street cred, it goes without saying that their process is thorough. Every job starts with on-site diagnostics to know where to install the system.
Plus, they only use the gold standard for radon reduction—the Sub Slab Depressurization System or SSDS. It creates negative pressure under the slab, so radon gets captured before it enters your property.
A consistent downside is their high pricing, but given their top-tier services, we think they’re worth it.
Our radon levels have dropped dramatically
“Andrew and Hal were very professional. Through the process, they explained what they were doing and helped us make the best choice for our installation. We learned a lot about why things were done the way they were recommended. They were also neat and tidy. Our radon levels have dropped dramatically, and our unit is also very quiet. We are very happy with the results, and we hope this review helps someone find the right company to do their mitigation.”

Level dropped from 500+ Bq/m3 to 13 Bq/m3
“We had been living with radon levels in the 500+ Bq/m3 levels for some time. On December 8th, 2024, we had a mitigation system installed by Mr. Radon, and by December 12th, the level had dropped to 13 Bq/m3 and has remained there to this date, January 9th, 2025, and showing a steady low reading. The install was very smooth, clean, and we were informed along the way as to what was taking place. The install crew was very pleasant, and they left the place so neat, it was hard to tell any work had been done. Very pleased and highly recommend Mr. Radon if you need a mitigation system.”

Canada Radon, a CARST and C-NRRP-compliant entity, is one of the largest radon mitigation companies in Ontario. They don’t just stick to ON; they provide radon testing across the country via Accustar Canada.
They start with a site assessment, so they can determine the best system to install.
Sub-Slab Depressurization is used for most homes, where a vent pipe is installed through the foundation floor and connected to a fan that vents radon safely outdoors. If your home has a subfloor area, they’d have to use crawl space mitigation.
They also deploy aeration systems to homes with high radon levels in well water.
Seeing that they offer a wide range of mitigation systems, it’s not surprising that they’re in demand. Booking in advance might be wise.
Radon levels have been persistently low
“After learning of a family member’s cancer diagnosis, we got a radon monitor for the basement where our kids spend a lot of time. After levels appeared to be trending persistently high, we sorted out Radon mitigation. Rob from Canada Radon explained the process and did a fantastic job. After mitigation, radon levels have been persistently low, The screenshot below is what we have been regularly seeing since Canada Radon installed the Radon mitigation. Thanks, Rob and the team at Canada Radon. Update…added in the monitoring chart for last month that shows the radon levels since we had the mitigation done.”

Radon level came down from 800 to 25
“Rob and his team were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They explained what I should expect and finished the work in 1 day. The basement looked cleaner after they left than before they showed up. If you are wondering if you need Radon mitigation or what your options are, I’d highly recommend reaching out and letting them walk you through the process. The picture shows the level around 800 from before they came to about 25 now.”

Since 2008, EcoStar Insulation’s mission has always been to provide practical insulation solutions for homeowners. They’ve carved out a niche in radon mitigation by using insulation as part of the defense.
Their team offers spray foam insulation to create a continuous air barrier, which helps block radon and other harmful gases from entering your home. As a bonus, it acts as a vapor shield that reinforces and protects your foundation.
You can fill out an online form to receive an accurate estimate within the day—this makes planning and budgeting a whole lot easier. They even offer payment plans through Financeit to make the cost more manageable.
It goes without saying that their radon mitigation services are comparatively limited. So, homeowners with very high radon levels may need to look elsewhere.
Very happy with the service and quality of the work
“I have used them two times. Once to do my attic and then to spray foam my garage. Very happy with the service and quality of the work. Fast, friendly, and easy to deal with. Bernardo and his team were great to work with both times. Thanks.”
– Ben O’Shea, Google Review
Excellent results on the spray foam insulation
“Excellent results on the spray foam insulation on the first floor of our home! Nearly no over-fills, and any were cut off flush to the studs. All areas were filled; no missed cavities. The plywood floor was left clean; everything was left as they found it. Service was completed fairly fast, in just a few hours. Communication was clear and prompt via email and texts. We’ll definitely work with Ecostar for the next phase of our renovation. Their price was reasonable, and the top-notch service was greatly appreciated. If you’re thinking about spray foam insulation, definitely hire Ecostar!”
