When my cousin from New York came to town and asked me, a born-and-bred Torontonian, where to find the best kosher restaurants, I knew I had to deliver. I told her to hang tight while I rounded up the ultimate spots.
So, I tapped into my network of kosher-loving friends, scoured local food forums, and even did a few taste tests of my own—research was never this delicious!
I came back armed with a list that had her ready to explore Toronto’s kosher food scene. For anyone looking to enjoy top-notch kosher dining, here are the best places to check out.
How much does it cost to dine in a kosher restaurant in Toronto?
Fine dining kosher experiences can push the bill to $60 or more per person, especially if you add appetizers, drinks, and desserts.
Kosher food, with its dietary compliance and often premium ingredients, typically comes at a slightly higher price point than non-kosher options.
How We Chose the Best Kosher Restaurants in Toronto
1. Milk ‘N Honey
Milk ‘N Honey is a long-time staple in North York’s kosher dining scene. For decades, this family-run spot has been serving comforting, tasty dishes, and it’s clear why Toronto’s Jewish community has embraced them so wholeheartedly.
Their menu leans heavily into comforting favorites, with options like pasta, deli-style sandwiches, savory crepes, and panzarottis.
For pasta lovers (like us!), their penne Amatriciana is a must-try. Tossed with a rich tomato basil sauce, it’s packed with lightly battered eggplant, garlic, zucchini, and diced onion for a dish that’s both hearty and satisfying.
When it comes to sandwiches, the avocado veggie panini is our go-to, featuring sautéed peppers and onions, a cheese mix, pesto, and a drizzle of chipotle mayo.
We did hear from some diners that they’re a bit pricey–something to keep in mind.
Portions are probably the largest of any of Toronto’s kosher restaurants
“The restaurant has been upgraded so the interior is very attractive. There’s an extensive (dairy) menu and everything I’ve tried has been good. Portions are probably the largest of any of Toronto’s kosher restaurants. The service is good too. It’s the place to go if you want a good sit-down restaurant experience.”

Have been dining at Milk ‘N Honey for over 25 years
“I have been lunching, dining at Milk ‘N Honey for over 25 years. The service is excellent and the food is delectable. I especially recommend the fish n chips, mushroom crepes, mushroom soup and onion soup. They also do great catering. Our waiter has been there as long as we’ve been going there, which is a great testament to the owner. Definitely, my favorite Kosher dairy restaurant.”

2. Marron Bistro
Marron Bistro has been known as an upscale kosher fine-dining spot in the prestigious Forest Hill district since 2005.
Chef Janvier leads the kosher kitchen with creative dishes that draw flavors from all over the world. You’ll find influences from South and North America, Israel, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
Now, we can’t get enough of their veal chop—tender and juicy, served with a rich Dijon sauce and green beans. For seafood lovers, the branzino is a winner, topped with almond lemon butter sauce and served with light, fluffy quinoa.
To round out your meal, they’ve got a stellar selection of cocktails and wines from over 10 countries. The Head Sommelier can even help you pick the perfect pairing.
Just be aware there have been some reports of last-minute booking cancellations.

Delicious French-style kosher meat restaurant
“Delicious French-style kosher meat restaurant. Service is excellent. Had some grilled shishito peppers as an appetizer. Generous portion and peppers were very tasty. A few were spicy but not overwhelmingly. The beef carpaccio was also excellent. We shared a rib steak and an order of lamb chops. The steak was excellent and perfectly cooked. The lamb a bit less so but still quite good. The dishes came with lots of potatoes in different forms. Would have been nice to have more vegetables on the side and less potatoes. The wine selection is limited and all wines are mevushal. So not many Israeli wines available. They would be better off getting permission to put a system in place to serve non-mevushal wines. Dessert was fine – could have been served warmer – and the bread wasn’t as hot or fresh testing as might have been expected. The restaurant is quite expensive – in the range of $400 for two for this type of meal. But it is probably one of the best, if not the best options for a fine kosher dining experience in the city. And the service was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Happy to go back for a special occasion!”

3. Schmaltz Appetizing
If you’re a fan of bagels and smoked fish, Schmaltz Appetizing is the kosher spot to hit.
One sandwich you have to try is the Chazzer. This beauty is stacked with pastrami gravlax, horseradish cream cheese, and salmon caviar, delivering a punch of flavors that feel indulgent yet perfectly balanced.
Another top-notch pick we love is the Schmaltz tuna melt. It takes things to the next level with Gryfe’s pizza bagels (yes, double bagels), tuna, cheddar, capers, and onion.
If you’ve got a group to feed, go for one of their catering platters such as The Nova Lox Smoked Salmon Platter. Feeding 4–6 people, it has half a dozen bagels, silky smoked salmon, plus all the fixings.
While the food gets top marks, there’s been some buzz about the servers being a bit snarky.
BEST smoked salmon bagel in Toronto no doubt!
“The BEST smoked salmon bagel in Toronto no doubt!!!!!!! My boyfriend has grabbed me bagels from many different stores across the city and Schmaltz is for certain above any other, both taste and size wise. The salmon is fresh and on the fatty and thick side; the cream cheese has somewhat a yogurt-ish freshness and taste to it. The price is on the higher end, with a smoke salmon cream cheese bagel 15 dollars plus tax. But trust me, it’s really worth a try! The store itself is quite small, and there is not really a place to sit and eat. The owner is very friendly 🙂 A must try in Toronto!”

If you’re a bagel lover, this spot is a must-visit!
“If you’re a bagel lover, this spot is a must-visit! I tried the Maven on an everything bagel, and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, generously portioned, and full of flavor. The bagel itself had the perfect chew, with just the right amount of seasoning. The lady at the counter was incredibly friendly and recommended the Maven and the Chub Chub as fan favorites. The ambiance in the back was stunning, with a beautiful little fountain that made me want to stay all day.”

4. Slice N Bites
Slice N Bites dishes out everything from sushi to pizza, nailing that sweet spot between variety and flavor. No wonder they snagged a 2020 Top Choice Award!
Their kosher pizza game is on point, our fave being their breaded eggplant pizza. The crispy eggplant adds a brilliant texture and depth of flavor.
But let’s talk sushi—it’s truly next-level. Fresh, flavorful, and never fishy, their sushi rolls are a hit every time.
For a hearty, plant-based option, you can’t go wrong with the falafel sandwich. This handheld treat comes loaded with hummus, lettuce, Israeli salads, cabbage, eggplant, falafel, pickles, hot peppers, and tehina.
They’ve got vegan and gluten-free dishes too, which is always a win when dining out with a group.
That said, we noticed that they tend to have slow service, so patience is key.
Best kosher pizza and sushi in the city
“The pizza is so delicious, the sushi is AMAZING (always so fresh, never fishy and so so yummy!!) and the customer service at Slice N Bites is first rate. It is the best kosher pizza and sushi in the city. My husband and I pick up takeout from here at least once a week and it is our go-to for catering when we host large groups at our house. We have always received kind and attentive service from management – they really care and make sure that we have a positive experience! Go eat here!!”

One of the few reasonably priced kosher restaurants in Toronto
“One of the few reasonably priced kosher restaurants in Toronto. Great sushi menu, and lots of seating. Only drawback is it so popular that wait times can be long, especially on Saturday nights.”

5. Pizza Cafe
Nestled in a strip mall, Pizza Cafe is an unassuming kosher pizzeria that has slices, whole pies, pasta, sandwiches, salads, and fries—all freshly prepared daily.
For pizza lovers, we recommend their whole wheat pizza with eggplant, spinach, and sundried tomatoes. The crust is hearty yet light, and the toppings come together in a perfect medley of savory, earthy flavors.
If wraps are more your thing, do yourself a favor and try the spinach feta wrap. It’s packed with hummus, olives, spinach leaves, feta cheese, and red peppers.
Now, when it comes to kosher credentials, they’re supervised by the Kashruth Council of Toronto (COR), Plus, all their dairy products are Cholov Yisroel, and their breads and wheat-based products Pas Yisroel and Yoshon.
Sadly, service can be a bit of a mixed bag, since we heard about their rude servers.
Hands down the best kosher pizza in Toronto
“Pizza Café has hands-down the best kosher pizza in Toronto. However, their pizza rivals any pizza the city. The crust doesn’t taste like cardboard from Pizza Pizza (oops — how would I know that) pizza Cafe’s crust is crispy, chewy & has flavour. You should try their poutine pizza, the green olive pizza is awesome and feta, with spinach & feta or the eggplant and feta is outstanding — also the kosher pepperoni is mine blowing. On top of that their Sushi is out of this world.”
