I visited a friend’s house, and the first thing that caught my eye was their family photo hanging above the fireplace.
The framing was spot on—a glam black with gold detailing that felt modern and not dated at all. Impressed, I asked my friend where she got the frame. Turns out, she designed it herself and had it custom-made!
Lesson learned—the right frame can completely transform a piece and sometimes even a whole room. To that end, here are the top custom framing spots in the city.
How much do custom framing services cost in Toronto?
Custom framing services in Toronto can range anywhere from $50 for simple frames to over $300 for large, bespoke designs with premium materials.
Prices depend on factors like frame, size, material, glass type, and any custom matting or mounting.
1. Decor Frame Toronto

Not sure which frame style to go for? Then, take advantage of their free design consultation, with artisans skilled in interior design and color coordination—don’t forget to bring photo references.
They offer over 800 frame styles (plus hundreds more in their catalogues), so you’re spoiled for choice. From jerseys, floaters, and shadowboxes to canvas, hockey cards, diplomas, and more, they can preserve and showcase just about anything.
As a bonus, all framing is done on-site to maintain consistency and quality. No third-party framers here!
Of course, quality comes at a price, so make sure to obtain a quote first before proceeding with your order.
Incredible material quality worth every penny
“Thank you for the wonderful job! You cherished my father’s memories with the great detail you put into the frame, and you made me feel prouder of my father. The process was very easy and accommodating to what I wanted, and the quality of the material is also incredible and worth every penny.”

2. Dimensions Custom Framing & Gallery

Dimensions Custom Framing & Gallery, located in West Beach, has earned a solid reputation after 24 years in the industry.
This spot can frame just about anything—from the usual paintings, photographs, and posters to small sculptures, musical instruments, vinyl records, and travel souvenirs.
They use acid- and lignin-free mat and mount boards for longevity, along with UV-filtering glass that helps protect against irreversible light damage.
If you’re not sure which aesthetic to choose, their friendly staff can guide you in refining your choices based on space, style, and the overall look. While they finalize your order, feel free to browse through their art gallery.
As expected, top-quality moldings and craftsmanship lean toward the higher side. But we think they could be a worthwhile investment.
They have a good artistic eye to guide decisions
“Dimensions gallery is an awesome place for framing. Ellen and Wendy are not only highly skilled at what they do, but they have a good artistic eye to guide decisions. I take all of my framing there and would not think twice about having your art framed by them. The photo is a recent display of a precious hand-painted thangka that I carried back from India. They displayed it beautifully in a modern white shadow box.”

3. GALLERIA FRAME SHOP

Since 1966, GALLERIA FRAME SHOP has been a trusted name in Toronto for full-service premium custom picture framing and repair services.
They offer the convenience of mobile consultations for art and picture framing, so you can plan your projects without needing to visit the shop.
And they’re pros in various custom framing services like canvas stretching, jersey framing, and other decorative options. We like that they can frame almost anything—think oriental rugs, cross-stitch, memorabilia jerseys, and more.
What’s cool is that every project is backed by their Absolute Satisfaction Guarantee. This might come in handy, though, since we heard reports of subpar workmanship.
On the bright side, they offer online deals with discounts ranging from 50% to 75% off framing services—perfect for those looking to save.

4. B M Picture & Frame

B M Picture & Frame has been in the game for over 30 years, delivering custom framing for artists, galleries, and anyone who wants to preserve their treasured moments.
It’s led by Bruce, who has advanced licensing in conservation picture framing and mat design. Teaming up with him is David, a graphic designer with a Fine Art Painting degree, a Master’s in Graphic Design, and eight solo exhibitions under his belt.
Their materials are sourced from leading manufacturers in the US, Canada, and Italy. And their frames don’t just look good—they protect your valuables from dirt, fingerprints, and fading, and have perks like UV resistance, acid-free materials, and durable finishes.
Their products might check all the boxes, but their customer service is another matter. That’s because we heard about their rude staff members.
Exceptional job of framing an old/creased canvas
“Bruce was extremely professional and kind. He did an amazing job at fixing one of my favorite pieces. He also did an exceptional job of framing an old/creased canvas of mine. 100% recommend.”

5. Frame it on Bloor

Frame it on Bloor is run by David, a Master Framer with a knack for blending modern and traditional framing styles. He has over 20 years of archival handling experience and is passionate about preserving heirlooms and historical memorabilia.
The shop’s frame collection is huge—over 3,500 samples ranging from sleek to classic. They also handle specialty services like stretching canvas paintings, batiks, giclee prints, and fabric on custom-sized stretchers made in-house.
For those with 3D treasures, their object framing options are designed to beautifully preserve and showcase your collectibles.
They even offer laser engraving, adding custom logos and graphics to metal, plastic, or glass for frames, plaques, awards, or memorials.
Everything seems to be on the up and up except for communication. Sadly, we heard about customers being frustrated due to their lack of responsiveness.
Best custom frame shop in Toronto
“Best custom frame shop in Toronto. We wanted our previous little pup to be remembered in a memorial board after his passing, 2 months ago. We met Brandon, who was kind, so patient even as we cried. We brought in Louis’s collars, one t-shirt, clippings of his hair, nose print, paw print, his Swiss passport, his little sock and boot, two poems from condolence cards, his favourite toy, and emailed 21 pictures. My husband and I told Brandon and his team to use their creativity to put all these in a shadow box frame. We wanted to remember Loui’s special things and moments hanging up for all to see. We went to see the frame and had it picked up yesterday. We were blown away with the amazing job Brandon did, almost speechless. I cried when I got home as Brandon displayed all of Louis’s special belongings so well and blew up one photo of his choosing to centre it. We gave no input on the organization of this board, and they nailed it. Brandon and team, a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most previous board we have ever seen. We will cherish this memorial forever 😘”

The final result is stunning
“100 stars! We had a sentimental 1975 Scholastic poster from Berkeley that we wanted framed as a key piece for our dining room. After checking out a few framing shops, we went with Frame It on Bloor. Brandon and the team offered fair pricing and a new customer discount. The final result is stunning, and it’s made our home feel even cozier. Professional, friendly service – highly recommend! Thank you, Brandon and team!”
