7 Best Don Mills Restaurants That Locals Keep Bookmarked for Cravings

Everyone knows that Don Mills is a go-to for shopping sprees and afternoon hangs. But did you know that it also delivers on the food front?

Whenever I’m craving authentic Italian pasta, spicy Mexican tacos, or juicy burgers, this lovely neighborhood never disappoints. What’s cool is that during weekends, you don’t even have to fight the thick downtown crowds.

If you’re curious about what’s cooking, I listed the top restaurants you should hit up in Don Mills. These spots are guaranteed to make you fall in love at first bite (because that’s exactly what happened to me!).

Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar

Must-Order: Mushroom Truffle Mafalde

I love Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar’s from-scratch philosophy; if they can make it in-house, they do. For instance, their famous hand-stretched mozzarella is made fresh daily, and yes, you can actually taste the difference.

They’re known for their amazing pasta lineup—every dish feels carefully put together. My fave is the Mushroom Truffle Mafalde, which has roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, all the good stuff, tossed in a silky brown butter and topped with Pecorino.

If pizza is more your thing, they have a wide range of Personal Pizzas—handcrafted, smaller-sized pies that are ideal for sharing…or not (we won’t judge).

We like that their menu works beautifully for groups, too, making them a go-to for catering family dinners, boardroom events, or holiday parties.

Pro Tip:

Time your visit to Scaddabush with Happy Hour: Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM and again from 9 PM until closing. You’ll score $2 off imported draughts, sangria, and spritzer cocktails, plus $6 glasses of wine.

Must-Order: Blackened Chicken

Located right at CF Shops at Don Mills, JOEY is the place to be for a power lunch or a romantic dinner. I just love its industrial-inspired design, spacious dining room, and charming seasonal patio—they even have valet parking!

Their unique starters alone are enough reason to visit. Popular ones include the Korean Fried Cauliflower, Mini Steak French Dips, and the Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps.

As for me, their Blackened Chicken is everything. This yummy dish is served with a warm potato salad, layered with bacon and a kick of horseradish aioli, alongside creamy coleslaw for balance.

Of course, no visit here is complete without checking out their Happy Hour offerings. Drinks are always flowing, and they offer 50% off bottles of wine every Tuesday.

Pro Tip:

If you’re hunting for a gift, JOEY has you covered with physical and digital gift cards. And you can even upload your own photo to personalize an e-card.

Must-Order: Crispy Fish Tacos

Known as Canada’s ultimate tequila destination, Añejo Restaurant proudly boasts over 200 different bottles to sip and savor. Fun fact: “Añejo” means “aged” in tequila-making.

They’re famous for their Happy Hour deals. Every day from 3 PM to 5 PM and again from 10 PM until closing, you can score half-price tequilas, $7 margaritas, and $4 classic tacos.

Speaking of tacos, locals keep coming back for them. I’m especially hooked on their Crispy Fish Tacos—they’re stacked with red cabbage, cilantro, and jalapeno, on your choice of white corn or flour tortilla.

Booking a table here is easy, too. They take reservations for small groups of up to 8 amigos directly through OpenTable (just hit the “reserve a table” button on their site).

Pro Tip:

Añejo offers nifty gift cards that are perfect for your tequila-loving compadres. Just keep in mind that these cards are for dine-in only.

Must-Order: Margherita Pizza

The Good Son focuses on local and seasonal organic produce, hormone-free and free-range proteins, and dishes designed to be shared.

Their wood-fired oven and grill were actually imported all the way from Mam Forni, Italy. That old-world craftsmanship delivers those smoky, charred flavors that only come from true wood fire cooking.

No wonder they’re known for their wood-fired pizzas, my personal pick being their Margherita option. This classic is made with San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh basil, and Fior Di Latte cheese (with add-ons like chili oil, balsamic drizzle, or hot honey).

Their Happy Hour is another reason to stop in. Every day from 3 PM to 5 PM, you can sip on $10 wines and cocktails or grab a draught or bottled beer for just $6.

Pro Tip:

The Good Son’s brunch is a local legend, available Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. Some crowd pleasers are Eggs Benedict, Blueberry Pancakes, and Shrimp Tostadas.

  • Thursday: 11 AM – 12 AM
  • Fri – Sat: 11 AM – 1 AM

Must-Order: Lobster & Crab Dip

Jack’s is the kind of spot where everyone fits in—oddballs, outsiders, and locals. This casual hangout offers all the essentials like pub grub, cold drinks, and sports on TVs.

One dish I can’t stop ordering is the Lobster & Crab Dip, which comes with Atlantic lobster and crab meat, cream cheese, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Served up with nacho chips and pita triangles, this treat is perfect for sharing.

Burgers are also sought-after here. They bake their buns in-house every day. You can upgrade your sides to sweet potato, truffle fries, or a loaded poutine.

Pair these delicious offerings with one of their wines. In fact, on Mondays and Tuesdays, all 750mL bottles of wine are half-price—yep, the whole bottle!

Pro Tip:

Don’t miss Jack’s Happy Hour, held every day from 2 PM to 5 PM and again from 9 PM until closing. They roll out their Five for $5 menu, meaning select beers, wines, cocktails, and more are just $5 each.

Eataly

Must-Order: Lasagne alla Bolognese

Dining at Eataly feels like being transported to Italy without leaving Don Mills. Their curated menu is crafted to celebrate some of the country’s most beloved traditions.

Lasagne alla Bolognese is my personal pick here—definitely not your everyday lasagna. This hearty dish is layered with delicate sheets of egg-based pasta, rich ragu alla Bolognese, bechamel sauce, and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano.

To cap off your meal, make sure to order the Crocantino all’Amarena. This sweet and creamy gelato—crunchy praline with cherry swirl—is prepared tableside.

Now, if you’re up for a special dinner, book one of their Napoli Nights starting at $30 per person. Guided by expert chefs, you’ll explore the flavors of authentic Neapolitan cuisine while sipping Italian wines.

Pro Tip:

We think you deserve a weekend treat, so check out Eataly’s Bottomless Brunch on Sundays, starting at $40 per person, from 11 AM to 2 PM. It begins with a welcome drink and then unfolds into Italian favorites, both savory and sweet.

Taylors Landing

Contact: (647) 943-6318
Must-Order: Landing Burger

Taylors Landing is a very spacious space—it has seating for 250 people inside and another hundred on the patio. I really like its design, too, which mixes bare concrete with personalized metalwork and comfy leather booths.

The menu offers pub classics and some healthier fare. But I always go for their Landing Burger, with house-ground beef grilled on the flat top, tucked into a brioche bun, and stacked with cheddar.

Unlike other places, their decadent dessert—Sticky Toffee Pudding—deserves its own spotlight. Served warm with vanilla ice cream and drizzled in chili salted caramel, it’s the kind of treat you won’t want to share.

Wash down your meal with ice-cold beer. They offer 16 taps featuring local brews available by pint or growler.

Pro Tip:

Taylors Landing’s brunch is something to look forward to on the weekend. Don’t miss their legendary Caesar, topped with cute garnishes like a mini corn on the cob.
