I was on the hunt for the perfect birthday gift for my dad, determined to break free from the gift-card-and-socks approach. Plus, I wanted something fancy and memorable.
Then, it struck me—cigars! I strolled into Toronto’s top cigar store, picked out a few exquisite selections, and sure enough, my dad was thrilled. He doesn’t even smoke that often anymore—he just enjoys admiring his collection and savoring the aroma.
For anyone seeking to surprise a cigar lover (or just add a touch of luxury to their own lives), here are the best cigar stores in Toronto to check out!
How much do cigars cost in Toronto?
The cost of cigars varies widely depending on factors such as brand, quality, origin, and size. Taxes and import fees can also add to the price, making some cigars more expensive compared to international markets.
How We Chose the Best Cigar Stores in Toronto
1. The Casablanca Tobacconist
The Casablanca Tobacconist has been a go-to spot for local cigar enthusiasts since 2000. With a reputation for offering an extensive selection of premium cigars, this shop is for those who appreciate the finer smokes.
Walking in, you’re met with an impressive lineup of Cuban cigars featuring iconic brands like Bolivar, Cohiba, Diplomaticos, and El Ray Del Mundo.
Beyond the Cubans, they carry Nicaraguan cigars, with brands like ACID, Drew Estate, Padron, Perdomo, and CAO on offer.
The shop’s selection doesn’t stop there, as they also have cigars from Honduras and the Dominican Republic, alongside their own house blends.
We like that it’s a one-stop shop for cigar and tobacco accessories as well—from high-quality pipes, lighters, and cutters to humidors and Lampe Berger products.
However, some visitors told us that certain items can be on the pricey side.
Best amount and selection I have come across
“The best amount and selection I have come across in the last couple of years. I travel internationally a lot and am always looking. Besides this amazing stock, Casablanca is run by two brothers that are very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing their vast cigar experience. What one brother may not know the other definitely does. If you pass to Toronto, definitely stop in at Casablanca it is the only cigar establishment you need to go to, and be sure to check out their new Cuban only walk-in humidor. Thumbs all the way up!!”

The burn was perfect and the draw was just right
“Finally I walk into a humidor and it smells like Havana! I picked out a few that were absolutely magnificent. The burn was perfect and the draw was just right. This is how you know you came to the professionals. This place definitely worth a visit.”

2. Cigar Studio
Nestled in Toronto’s Kingsway neighborhood, Cigar Studio has been a premium destination for cigar lovers since 1996.
When it comes to selection, they don’t disappoint. They boast an impressive range of Cuban cigars, with offerings like Vegueros Centrogordo, Vegas Robaina Unicos, Romeo Y Julieta Mille Fleur, and Quai d’Orsay Corona Claro.
In addition to Cubans, their house blends are a big hit. Bestsellers like the Studio Primera Habano Gordo, Camino Real Maduro, and Studio Primera Tres Petit Corona Habano have a dedicated following and offer unique, carefully crafted flavors.
For those who love surprises, try their “King of Clubs” premium mystery pack. Priced at $96, this exclusive package delivers up to five premium cigars right to your door.
Note that some visitors have clocked some inattentive clerks, which can be a bit of a letdown in an otherwise welcoming environment.

3. The Smokin Cigar
The Smokin Cigar is a true labor of love, founded by Trae back in 1997 when he was just 26. Today, it’s a staple in the Bayview Leaside neighborhood, known for its epic selection of Cuban and non-Cuban cigars.
They’re proud to be the area’s only authorized Habanos Specialist, offering authentic Cubans alongside smokes from around the globe. From classic Montecristo No. 4 cigars to best-selling house brands, they seem to have it all.
Another thing they’re known for is the iconic glass-walled walk-in humidor—the largest in the city and the third largest in Canada.
For those who enjoy the element of surprise, their Quarter Century Cigar Club subscription delivers premium cigars straight to your door for $59.99 per month.
On the downside, a few visitors have mentioned encounters with pushy sales reps.

Lower cost options along with mainly premium smokes
“Great cigars, with lower cost options along with mainly premium smokes and accessories. Pipe tobacco, in-house and tinned, and pipes available, with helpful clerks who know their wares. Great site, best in the city, you can place orders and get same day delivery in Toronto. Has a subscription for monthly costs delivered to you, two options, 50 and 100.”

4. La Casa De Fuma
La Casa de Fuma, opened by Fawzi Asmar in 2011, has become a beloved fixture on a stretch of Yonge Street in North Toronto.
Thanks to Fawzi’s passion and expertise, the store has attracted a loyal clientele who keep coming back for the experience as much as the cigars themselves.
He’s known for taking the time to offer expert explanations regarding choosing and storing cigars. First-time cigar smokers are especially lucky—he’ll even demonstrate how to cut and light a cigar, making those initial puffs something truly memorable.
Plus, walking into their walk-in humidor is like a dream, filled with classic brands like Cohiba Behikes, Partagas, and Romeo y Julieta.
Parking can be a bit tricky, but a smart workaround is to park at the nearby Loblaws and then make your way south to the shop.
Best cigar shop in Toronto!
“Best cigar shop in Toronto! The owner is super pleasant and if you don’t know too much about cigars the owner and the son will be happy to help you pick the best cigar(s). I have visited a twice with friends who don’t know a lot about cigars and none of them have been disappointed with their selections.”

The owner is truly a cigar aficionado
“The owner is truly a cigar aficionado. He introduced me Nicaraguan cigars and I must say I have converted from Cubans. He has a wide selection of cigars and reasonably priced. La Casa De Fuma is my go to cigar shop and I highly recommend to all my cigar smoking friends.”

5. Frank Correnti Cigars
Frank Correnti Cigars holds a unique place in Canada as the last hand-made cigar factory, as well as Toronto’s oldest cigar shop. In fact, it has been run by a family of custom cigar makers for over a century.
Generations of statesmen, politicians, movie stars, diplomats, and sports icons have walked through its doors—all in search of a truly special smoke.
The cigars here are crafted using aged imported leaves from some of the world’s finest plantations, including aged Cuban raw leaf that’s been stored for over 35 years.
And if you know your cigar wrappers, you’ll be pleased to find options like Claro, Colorado, Maduro, and the deeper, richer Oscuro/Double Maduro.
We love that their professional cigar rollers are available for hire. Watching them roll a cigar can certainly elevate any occasion—from fancy balls to Toronto’s IndyCar races.
Watch out for some shop attendants though, as they can seem clueless.
Best handmade cigars

Home of the oldest cigar manufacturer in Canada
“Quite a place. It’s the home of the oldest Cigar Manufacturer in Canada. Located close to Chinatown. Almost missed the place – it’s on the first floor! The gentleman there (I think the owner) is very hospitable. They sell a variety of hand rolled cigars, which the rollers will sign for you. The feel of the place is rustic, definitely a peek into the old world – the billing machine, the equipment and the decor are all stuck in time, which is really the charm of the place. The cigars are quite good, starting from $ 11. They sell cigar cutters and other accessories as well, so a good place for newbies (like me). It’s one of the places I enjoyed visiting the most in Toronto.”
