5 Best Antique Lighting Fixtures & Decor in Toronto for Amazing Vintage Vibes

top-antique-lighting-fixtures-toronto
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Forget those ultra-sleek, soulless spaces that look like they’re straight out of a minimalist catalog. Sure, modern decor has its place, but there’s just something about antique lighting and decor that brings an unbeatable, timeless vibe.

And no, I’m not talking about that grandma’s attic look with cluttered, mismatched lamps and dusty chandeliers. Imagine instead stepping into a James Bond-worthy library with warm, golden lighting, or a classic Toronto loft bathed with intricate glass fixtures.

That’s why we’re your go-to for discovering the best antique lighting fixture and decor spots in Toronto. These places will help you turn any space into a work of art with lighting that tells a story, every time you flip the switch.

How much do antique lighting fixtures & decor cost in Toronto?

In Toronto, simpler vintage lamps or decor items might start around $100–$300, while larger, more intricate chandeliers or designer pieces can range from $500 to several thousand dollars.
For high-end, rare finds, prices can soar even higher, especially for fixtures with unique materials or historical significance.
Costs can vary widely in price depending on the rarity, age, and craftsmanship of each piece. Local shops and antique markets often provide a range of options to fit different budgets.

How We Chose the Best Antique Lighting Fixtures & Decor in Toronto

Authenticity: We looked for shops that specialize in genuine antique lighting fixtures, ensuring pieces are true to their eras and not reproductions.
Quality: Each fixture’s craftsmanship and materials were assessed to make sure they’re durable and in excellent condition for continued use.
Variety: We prioritized stores with a diverse selection, from Victorian chandeliers to Art Deco sconces, catering to different tastes and styles.
Expertise: We evaluated the staff’s knowledge about antique lighting, ensuring they could provide detailed information on each piece’s history, origin, and care.
Pricing Transparency: Shops were selected for their fair and transparent pricing, with items priced according to rarity, quality, and condition.
Customer Service: We focused on places known for excellent customer service, with staff who take the time to help clients find the perfect pieces.
Unique Finds: We searched for stores that offer rare or one-of-a-kind items, providing customers with unique decor that can’t be found elsewhere.
In-Store Experience: Shops were chosen for their inviting ambiance, creating a shopping experience that feels like a trip back in time.

Outstanding selection of antique and vintage chandeliers

“Outstanding selection of antique and vintage chandeliers and various stylish lamps. A unique store, the best in Toronto, with a great collection of antique ceiling lights, lighting fixtures, with beautiful and stylish design, in great condition. There is something for every taste. If you need any repairs to your vintage lights, just go here

“If you need any repairs to your vintage lights, just go here. This team is amazing. I had a difficult lamp to rewire that 5 other places rejected to fix due to its difficulty. But I dropped by here and they had it fixed in less than 2 days! Price was reasonable given the work / parts. Donald (the repairman) is very transparent and the rest of the team is very kind. Go here for all your repairs!”

Turn of the Century Lighting has been a trusted name in antique and custom lighting since 1976, serving the GTA and beyond. They’re also CSA-approved, meaning their selection doesn’t just look good; it’s built to last.

We browsed through their wide range of options, from chandeliers and pendants to outdoor lighting and floor lamps, and we loved their highly curated collection.

It’s no wonder their work has even been featured on over 100 projects across North America, including supplying 1850s gasoliers to the Dundurn National Historic Site. They even supplied historic consultant services for accuracy.

For old fixtures in need of some love, they offer rewiring and restoration services to give your lights a new life. As a bonus, their work is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

However, we did hear about their unfriendly staff, which can be a bit of a bummer.

Pros

  • Over 50 years of experience
  • CSA-approved facility
  • Featured on over 100 projects across North America
  • Has historic consultant services
  • Rewire and restoration services
  • Two-year limited warranty

Cons

  • Reports of unfriendly staff

Great collection of vintage and antique lighting

“TURN of the CENTURY LIGHTING provides a great collection of vintage and antique lighting. I picked up a 1920’s industrial Holophone flush mount that had been rewired and CSA approved along with a machinists industrial work light with original paint. I met the owner, Michael Rosar and despite the fact he wouldn’t part with a gorgeous bit of shelving unit, (I don’t blame him) he’s still a 5 star kinda guy! Accommodating and patient. Loved his customer service and fair prices.”

Eclectic Revival has been in the antique game since 1985 here in Ontario, starting with a mix of furniture, architectural pieces, and antique lighting. By 1998, they went all-in on lighting, which has allowed them to become experts in antique fixtures and restoration.

We love that they travel around North America and Europe to source period lighting from different eras. This covers everything, from oil lamps and gas fixtures to electric and combination pieces.

And when they restore, they do it right, focusing on preserving the original patina and finish. Any part replacements are done with vintage parts whenever possible.

They’re also a go-to if you need lighting for a special event or movie set because of their extensive rental collection.

Note that the showroom is open by appointment only. Great if you want a more personal shopping experience; not so great if you just want to drop by on a whim.

Pros

  • Over 35 years of experience
  • Period lighting from North America and Europe
  • Offers restoration services
  • Has an extensive rental collection

Cons

  • Showroom by appointment only

My favorite store for vintage lighting in the GTA

“This is my favorite store for vintage lighting in the GTA. They always have an interesting and eclectic selection on display. I have purchased a half-dozen or so pieces from single bulb fixtures to large chandeliers. There’s always something interesting to choose from. Pete, the owner, is very knowledgeable and always helpful. Highly recommended!”

What The Vintage is an awesome place to go to for vintage, mid century, and retro furniture, lighting, and decor.

We love their curated collection lighting, from table and floor lamps to gorgeous chandeliers. Each piece goes through a check and tune-up process when it arrives, so whether it’s repairs or cleaning, they make sure it’s ready for your space.

They’ve also made everything available online, but if there’s something specific you’re after that isn’t listed, they’re open to requests. A cool bonus—free curbside delivery within the GTA is offered.

Her shop is a fantastic collection of vintage, antique, and reclaimed materials, from unique lighting and custom tables to clever storage solutions. You’ll even spot AJ’s work in cafes and retail spaces around the city!

She also collaborates with Lee Valley Tools to create content and how-to videos, and you may have even caught her on the show, Salvage Kings.

Professional, meticulous, and extraordinarily skilled

“Custom work can be tricky at the best of times, never mind in a pandemic! But not with AJ’s Antique Revival. Professional, meticulous, and extraordinarily skilled, AJ listened, and helped me navigate the design process painlessly. The end result is beautiful and I’m absolutely thrilled!”

Did the most beautiful job on a family heirloom

“AJ did the most beautiful job on a family heirloom. The piece wasn’t usable for us the way it was and she transformed it into something that will be great in our home. I am so happy with it — it is exactly what I was hoping for. Her craftsmanship is amazing. AJ provided regular updates on her progress and consulted with me along the way to make sure she was delivering exactly what I wanted. I am definitely going to call on her again for refurbishing furniture.”
