How We Chose the Best Restaurants for Gluten-Free Pizza in Toronto
1. Pizzeria Libretto
Pizzeria Libretto, born out of a love for Neapolitan pizza, opened its doors in 2008. Restaurateurs Chef Rocco Agostino and Max Rimaldi have created a culinary spot rooted in simple, seasonal ingredients.
They proudly serve Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN)-certified pizza, adhering to the authentic Neapolitan traditions. This means that their brick oven mastery results in a crust that’s puffy, flame-kissed, slightly crisp, and perfectly elastic.
Vegans and gluten-conscious diners can substitute any cheese with their housemade vegan fior di latte and enjoy a flawlessly blistered gluten-free crust.
Don’t miss out on their scrumptious funghi pizza, topped with cremini mushrooms, gorgonzola crema, garlic, thyme, rosemary, fior di latte mozzarella, and pecorino.
Beyond crafting pizzas, Pizzeria Libretto engages in community initiatives, like donating proceeds to FoodShare Toronto.

- VPN-certified pizza
- Offers vegan and gluten-free substitutions

Quality is consistently great
“I love their authentic Neapolitan pizza!! I usually get the funghi but this time I also got the ‘nduja — they were both very delicious with a perfectly charred and blistered crust. I’ve been to a few Pizzeria Libretto locations and the quality is consistently great. Reservations are accepted. We were walk-ins on a Tuesday night and there was no wait. There’s plenty of seating.”

2. Pi Co.
Who would’ve thought that childhood soccer buddies would become the masterminds behind Pi Co.? Well, Marc Askenasi and Sam Hazan did just that in 2016, turning their friendship goals into a successful pizza venture.
Their own “Gluten-Freeza” dough is freshly made daily by their master chef. Also, they utilize a separate mixer for gluten-free dough and use rice flour for stretching regular and gluten-free options.
In their 1,000-degree oven, Pi Co. fires up two pizzas: their classic margherita – with a perfectly balanced sauce and cheese ratio – and their build-your-own Neapolitan pizzas. And, they aim to get it done in just 90 seconds.
No fancy reservations are needed here—just quality, made-to-order 11″ pizzas served up in a casual yet chic modern space.
They have their own app where you can craft your own pie or explore chef-inspired salads and desserts. Here, you can also enjoy in-store pricing, contactless pickup and delivery, and rack up loyalty points and rewards.
Pros
- Makes their own “Gluten-Freeza” daily
- Aims to cook pizzas in 90 seconds
- Has build-your-own Neapolitan pizzas
- No reservations needed
- Has their own mobile app
- Offers catering services
- Free WiFi

Best gluten free pizza!

My favorite fast serve Napoletana-style pizza
“Pi Co is my favorite fast serve Napoleontan style pizza. If you haven’t been here before, the concept is similar to blaze pizza where you get to build your own and select whatever toppings you want or have the option to choose pizzas with pre-selected ingredients on it. Their ingredient selection is very good. I would say their dough is superior to blaze pizza as it is closer to the consistency of a true Napoletana pizza. Highly recommend a try.”

3. Pizza Del Arte
Pizza Del Arte’s owner Mandy Lau, who has been developing his pizza skills since 1988, was mentored by an old-school Italian pizza pro. As a result, his pizzas boast a unique “Torontonian” style that blends the best of Neapolitan and North American traditions.
For instance, they use Italian-style Caputo 00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes straight from Italy. Diners also have 28 artisan pizzas to choose from or the option to build their own pie.
We suggest trying their classic New York-style pepperoni pizza. It has savory tomato sauce, gooey melted cheese, and flavorful pepperoni.
Those with gluten-free cravings or dietary requirements only need to add $4.50 per pizza, and vegetarians are also offered meat-free options. Aside from pizzas, they also offer wings, garlic bread, and caprese salad.
Pros
- 35 years of experience
- Specializes in “Torontonian” style pizza
- Uses Italian-style Caputo 00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes
- 28 artisan pizzas or build your own

The owner of this place must be a real gastronome
“The owner of this place must be a real gastronome because when he is the one who makes the pizza, you can tell, it’s fricking delicious! The crust is perfect, the cheese is divine, the toppings have a very natural flavour and they are well seasoned. The place is not a 5-star restaurant, it’s at a very loud intersection, so don’t bring a date there. There’s only one table and a big tv screen so it’s ok to just sit there to meet up with a private investigator or something… Or have a break in the middle of a very long walk or busy day with a child… Well it’s a perfect place if you need to sit down or wait for your next appointment in the area. The staff is not the friendliest or the most chatty, but they are kind and professional, usually very shy. There’s no dessert menu, you can get some sodas from the fridge. The 4-topping offer is very affordable. Bon appétit! Vegetarian options: I always order a large Ortolana pizza and it’s vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: They have vegan options for mostly all pizzas. I can’t stand the taste of their vegan cheese, but if you’re used to it they have that.”

The pizza here is incredible
“The Pizza here is incredible. The prices are very good, and the owner is a good man. I’ve tried their Pepperoni Pizza and their Margarita Pizza. Both were made with class and respect. High talent, quality ingredients. Simply a bit small inside, so it’s more for take-out unless you sit at their one table. Highly Recommended!”

4. PIANO PIANO
PIANO PIANO’s chef and owner Victor started cooking at his uncle’s pizzeria at the age of 11. He named his restaurant based on the Italian phrase “piano piano va lontano” – meaning “slowly slowly we go further” – to serve as a reminder to slow down and enjoy life’s pleasures.
Don’t miss the gluten-free version of their “Sweet Hornet” pizza with fior di latte, spicy soppressata, black olives, and a touch of hot honey. You can also pair your pizzas with their array of wines, beers, and handcrafted cocktails.
For those craving PIANO PIANO at home, their frozen pizzas –100% naturally leavened sourdough delights– are now up for grabs.
They open their doors for birthdays, weddings, holiday parties, corporate dinners, bar mitzvahs, and engagement celebrations. Plus, outdoor seating is available.
Pros
- Has gluten-free versions of pizzas, pastas, and desserts
- Has wines, beers, and cocktails
- Can be booked for events
- Offers frozen pizzas

All in all, five stars, no notes beyond praise
“My husband and I booked Piano Piano for our wedding venue; the upstairs for the ceremony and the banquet room downstairs for the reception dinner. It was, put simply, quite literally everything we could have possibly hoped for. Food: where to begin! The selected menu provided fulfilled all our needs, both in terms of the range we wanted to have our guests to sample, and for dietary restrictions (gluten free and vegan), and was simply SUPERB besides. A meal that every guest has comments on the quality of in extremely glowing terms and one I’ll remember for years. Service: Cannot begin to thank the staff for their professionalism and care for our most important of days. Particular thanks are owed to Buffy and Victoria for their work in organizing the day prior, and Victoria for the in-person direction on the day itself. Every question we had had an answer, and every potential issue was calmly and smoothly handled with an ease that just seemed natural! Superlative work was done to take care of every need both at the event organizing level and table service. Sincere thanks are owed to the wait staff for ensuring everyone had everything they could have wanted for the whole evening. Venue: Gorgeous, elegant, and dealt with our design tweaks perfectly. Deeply grateful for being able to put our own stamp on the banquet hall while working within such a wonderful room. All in all, five stars, no notes beyond praise. Cannot express our gratitude enough to Piano Piano for helping making our day as memorable as we could have wanted. Thank you everyone!”

5. The Parlour
The Parlour blends Vancouver charm with Toronto vibes. Owned by brothers Sean and Chris Holland, it honors its history as the Mason and Risch piano factory, showcasing a vintage piano chandelier in the lounge.
Designed by Chris Holland, the 1894-built factory retains its original charm, boasting a salvaged workbench turned host stand. The venue also offers a year-round courtyard and a quaint patio for outdoor enjoyment.
The menu showcases a menu curated from coast to coast, with fresh BC fish, Maritimes oysters, Ontario-sourced meats, and specialty gluten-free pizzas. Shareable delights include steak tartare, Ahi tuna lettuce wraps, and fiery tomato-sauced meatballs.
We recommend their gluten-free Goldmember pizza with a sinful mix of caramelized onion, mushroom duxelle, Yukon gold potato, truffle oil, Gruyère, and mozzarella.
Pros
- Beautifully designed space
- Offers oysters, pizzas, and shared plates
- Champagne, beer, wine, and cocktails
- Happy hour available
- Wheelchair-accessible
- Has a TV and free WiFi
- Bike parking
Cons
- Pricey
- Poor customer service
- Gratuity automatically added to the bill
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service
“Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service. You will have an amazing experience here, if you’re willing to drop hundreds😄This place is very expensive, but everything is really good. Highly recommend the Goldmember Pizza, it’s the BEST. The truffle tastes amazing and it’s a great vegetarian option. Better than any other pizza, including meat ones. The pepperoni can’t go wrong either, it’s delicious. Dough is soft and cheese is cheesing. So sooo good. The Roasted chicken pizza was good, but I definitely prefer the other ones. Short ribs were really good, but very overpriced. $28 for a very small stack of short ribs. The meatball slides were soooo good, but again, pricey. I forgot what it’s called but there’s a salmon dip with fried cracker-looking things and it was insane!! Highly recommend. The shareable were very good, but I recommend spending your money on the pizzas. They are so good. Happy hour def makes things more affordable, ½ price wine and oysters ! The ambience is amazing, so much natural light if you want it, but if you want more of a dimmed, candle-lit vibe, there’s def options for that too. Waitress was super sweet and had a smile on her face constantly, recommended amazing dishes. Vegetarian options: Goldmember is the best pizza! Vegetarian.”

New fave spot for sure!
“New fave spot for sure! Definitely a hidden gem. We went for dinner and had the 1/2 price oysters because it was Monday. They were really good quality. The cocktails were amazing. The blackberry smash was super yummy & the old fashioned is the best I’ve had on King Street. Music was 10/10 which made a huge difference. You have to try the beef short ribs! Pizza was also phenomenal, we ordered the gold member and will be back again to try the others :)”
