A friend of mine recently welcomed a precious newborn into the world! Just a few days in, she was eager to capture adorable baby photos (who could blame her; her baby’s a total cutie!).
Unfortunately, her first try wasn’t ideal—the photographer seemed rushed, the pictures lacked creativity, and the studio itself wasn’t very clean. Needless to say, she felt frustrated.
Determined to find the perfect newborn photographer, she turned to me for help. Together, we asked our friends and scoured mommy blogs online for recommendations.
Our search paid off! We found a photographer who exceeded her expectations—patient, friendly, and with a clean, organized studio.
If you’re a new mom (or dad!) on the hunt for a top-notch newborn photographer in Toronto, then look no further. This curated list will help you capture all the cuteness of your newborn!
How much do newborn photography sessions cost in Toronto?
Newborn photography sessions in Toronto typically cost between $300 and $800, depending on the package. Factors that may affect the price include the duration, the number of edited photos, and the photographer’s reputation.
Customization options and travel expenses, if the photographer comes to your location, can also influence the overall cost.
How We Chose the Best Newborn Photographers in Toronto
1. A Little One Studio

A Little One Studio had us swooning over their portfolio filled with adorable baby pics! They specialize in newborn, maternity, and family photography, with a focus on creating beautiful memories for Toronto families.
They have a cute little studio stocked with tons of props—think cozy wraps, fluffy blankets, and headbands galore. Oh, and if the idea of venturing out with a brand new baby makes you nervous, they also offer in-home newborn photo sessions.
Speaking of sessions, they have newborn photography packages—from a mini session for under $400 to a premium package with all the bells and whistles.
We also love what we heard about their photographer, Grace; apparently, she’s calm, gentle, and patient, even when the little one gets a little cranky. Bonus points for her waiving extra time fees during a fussy session.
Note that spots fill up fast, so try to snag your session date while you’re still pregnant.
By far the best photographer we’ve worked with
“By far the best photographer we’ve worked with. We had the pleasure of working with the magnificent April as our photographer. I can’t simply put it to words how comfortable she made us feel. From music, to atmosphere and constantly boosting your confidence throughout the whole session. Don’t think twice & book your appointment. We will definitely come back to April for our Newborn and many more milestones to capture those precious moments. Thanks again April!”

2. Ally’s Photography

Ally’s Photography caught our eye with its focus on capturing the beautiful mess of motherhood, from maternity shoots to those precious newborn snuggles. Ally wants to get to know you and your story, creating photos that are personal and meaningful.
They offer a variety of newborn packages to suit different needs, from mini sessions with classic newborn poses for $650 to their popular Mama & Me sessions for $399.
And let’s talk wardrobe; the studio boasts a luxurious collection of gowns, fabrics, and accessories. Imagine flowy silks, cozy knits, and everything in between—perfect for creating those magazine-worthy pictures.
Plus, all the editing is included, so you can expect stunning, artistic portraits that are download-ready.
The downside is that Ally’s services are on the pricier side. And while they might be able to squeeze you in last-minute, booking early, at least 6-8 weeks in advance, (especially for weekends) is key.
Amazing experience with Ally for our newborn photoshoot
“We had an amazing experience with Ally for our newborn photo shoot. She is absolutely amazing, professional and accommodating. We had certain photo ideas and props in mind which she was more than happy to incorporate. Ally was super patient with us and our baby. She was also very prompt in our communications and provided the edited photos before the promised time! For all those looking for a newborn photographer, look no further than Ally!”

3. Welcome Baby Photography

Welcome Baby Photography is owned by Ela, who seems passionate about her craft. She wants to give new parents beautiful images and a positive experience; that’s why she offers sessions for newborns, maternity pics, and even family portraits.
Her newborn style leans towards classic and simple, with props and backdrops to personalize your session. Heads up, though—these sessions can take a while; we’re talking 2-3 hours, so be prepared for a marathon snuggle fest (with breaks, of course!).
To snag your spot, you’ll need to contact them in advance to discuss your vision and preferences. Then, they take a retainer to secure your date for when the baby arrives.
This is a good system in theory, but we heard some rumblings about really short sessions and missed deadlines.
Ela was wonderful to work with!
“Ela was wonderful to work with! She was very accommodating and handled our newborn very well during the photoshoot. She was able to accommodate us in a very short notice and gave very clear directions of how to come prepared for the shoot. Her studio is very cute for taking family pictures as well! We felt extremely comfortable to work with her. I would definitely recommend her!”

Made our baby feel very comfortable
“We took newborn and family session with Ela, and it was a fantastic experience. Ela was remarkably talented, professional, caring, understanding, and has an artistic eye for great shots. She was excellent at handling my baby very carefully and got his attention, as well as made our baby feel very comfortable with her different tricks and singing so that he was really enjoying the photo session… bringing out awesome photos. This was our first outing with our baby, as we took his 100 days old photos, and our baby felt very at home in front of her camera. I also loved the way Ela set up her studio, and we were able to get a variety of different types of photos with her many various backdrops and props that she provides.”

4. Lemons & Ants

Lemons & Ants Studios’ goal is to capture your family’s story through beautiful newborn photography. Run by husband-and-wife team Anthony and Le Man, they have over 9 years of honing their craft!
Their studio boasts gorgeous natural light, perfect for keeping those little ones calm and sleepy during the session. They also offer in-home sessions for your convenience.
We love their way of preserving memories with high-quality artwork. This means museum-grade albums and handcrafted boxes to display your precious newborn pics for years to come.
Now, planning is key here—we recommend reaching out 1-2 months before your due date to customize the shoot with props, colors, and sets. The earlier the better, especially since those last few weeks of pregnancy can get rough!
Note that they also offer corporate and branding shoots.
However, we did hear complaints about their less-than-stellar editing.
Newborn outfits and sets were out of this world cute
“We were very happy with our experience with Lemons & Ants. Le Man is a very skilled stylist and her newborn outfits and sets were out of this world cute. Her and Anthony created a very calm and lovely photoshoot experience for our newborn (and for us!). We were absolutely blown away by the photos. Anthony is an amazing photographer. We could not recommend this amazing husband and wife duo more!! We will be spreading the word to all our friends :-)”

The final photos were absolutely stunning!

First and foremost, Le Man and Anthony were incredibly gentle and patient with our newborn. They handled our little one with the utmost care and made sure that every pose was comfortable and safe. The final photos were absolutely stunning! The attention to detail and creativity in capturing those precious moments was truly remarkable. Each image was a work of art, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. They even accommodated our request for some specific photographs we wanted to capture.”

5. Maternity and Newborn

Maternity and Newborn’s goal is to catch those fleeting newborn moments right in the comfort of your own home! They serve Toronto and the GTA, so location isn’t a huge hurdle.
Max, the photographer behind the lens, seems like a pro with over six years of experience and training focused on newborn safety. He’s a dad himself, so he gets the whole sleep-deprived newborn thing (major bonus points!).
Plus, he’ll bring everything to you—props, backdrops, the whole shebang. No need to worry about lugging a fussy newborn to a studio.
They even offer a 10% discount if you book your newborn session while still pregnant, which we think is a nice touch! Maternity photoshoots are also offered, done by another skilled photographer, Lianne.
Sadly, Maternity and Newborn doesn’t have a studio setting.
Had an absolutely wonderful newborn shoot
“We had an absolutely wonderful newborn shoot and can highly recommend Max. Apart from the great results/pictures in the end, was incredibly patient and caring during the shooting. We even had to reschedule the initial appointment on very short notice, because our newborn was not well, and Max was very accommodating with that. 5/5 Stars plus a huge thanks to Max! Best regards, Heidi, Lukas & little Hanna”
