1. Q Esthetics Laser Clinic
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
SKILLS | ★★★★☆ |
EQUIPMENT | ★★★★☆ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Founded in 2001, Q Esthetics Laser Clinic is one of the leading skin care and personalized cosmetic treatments in the Greater Toronto Area.
Their mole removal procedure is mainly performed through the use of lasers. An individual assessment will initially be done to determine the particular treatment needed.
One of the most effective options that they recommend to clients is the Nd Yag laser, which is generally known for its creation of free ions and electrons. This helps eliminate skin blemishes such as warts and skin tags as well.
Apart from laser, the clinic also offers excision for potentially cancerous moles. They also perform electrocautery or the use of light electrical current that will significantly burn a mole.
We do warn that for electrocautery, Q Esthetics Laser Clinic may need to complete 2 surgeries to fully remove a mole. This procedure is safer and is easier to perform and control as it only reaches the outermost layers of the skin.
Packages aren’t the most affordable in this clinic though. Some of the clients we’ve spoken to said it was quite overpriced, but the clinic’s service and effectiveness made up for it.
Q Esthetics Laser Clinic is open daily with regular hours during weekdays and a different schedule during Saturdays.
Pros
- More than 20 years experience
- Offers Nd Yag laser
- Offers electrocautery
Cons
- Can be overpriced
- Closed during Sundays

2. New DermaMed Cosmetic and Advanced Laser Skin Clinic
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
SKILLS | ★★★★☆ |
EQUIPMENT | ★★★★☆ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
New DermaMed Cosmetic and Advanced Laser Skin Clinic uses skin rejuvenation and body contouring technology across all their offered treatments. They have two clinics in Toronto: one in uptown and one in downtown.
This clinic is knowledgeable in terms of many skin treatments – their 10 years of experience is a testament to this. They have procedures for the face, body, hair, veins, acne, and they even perform enhancements such as botox and dermal fillers.
For moles, they perform removal procedures for both face and body. The method they will use will depend on the patient’s condition, but they usually recommend laser or electrocautery.
Probably the best thing about this clinic is that they are among those who offer affordable prices. They also encourage patients to book a free consultation to make the procedure more efficient.
What we think they can improve on is their customer service. There are times when it is hard to book a session, call for a consultation, or even just do an inquiry.
Do take note that getting a response after signing up for a free consultation through their website can take days as well.
Overall, there isn’t really much to dislike about New DermaMed Cosmetic and Advanced Laser Skin Clinic. They have a good record in terms of mole removal and have even been winning as the best cosmetic clinic in Toronto since 2018.
Pros
- Award-winning clinic
- Affordable rates
- Offers electrocautery
Cons
- Customer service is sometimes delayed or unresponsive
- Closed on Sundays

3. Lumiskins
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
SKILLS | ★★★★☆ |
EQUIPMENT | ★★★★☆ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Although recognized as an expert in terms of birthmark and acne removal, Lumiskins is one of the most efficient clinics in terms of mole removal. They also have a well-designed clinic with updated equipment.
What we find most interesting about this clinic is that they remove moles through the use of thermocoagulation. This procedure is usually performed by applying a tiny probe to the site of a mole and using radio frequency energy to dehydrate melanocyte cell clusters.
Thermocoagulation is different from laser removal and excisions as this is pain-free and does not cause excessive scarring. This makes it an optimum choice for sensitive skin areas such as those near the eyes.
The only side effect a patient may experience from thermocoagulation is a slight head sensation, so we do warn that you be prepared for it should you choose to go with Lumiskins.
Very few clients say that their procedure didn’t go so well. This was primarily because their skin did not agree with thermocoagulation or that the mole wasn’t frozen enough.
On the bright side, this clinic is pretty affordable. Their prices for mole removal start at roughly 200 CAD, which is more affordable compared to other clinics.
Lumiskins is open daily following a regular schedule, except during weekends. They accept appointments via call or through their website.
Pros
- Uses thermocoagulation
- Very affordable
- Beautiful facility and updated equipment
Cons
- A few patients’ skin do not agree with thermocoagulation
- Closed during weekends
Customer Reviews
I’ve had one session with Nana for a mole removal. It healed beautifully with no scar of any kind.
Simply the best skincare clinic around. The service is impeccable, and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. I’ve had one session with Nana for a mole removal. It healed beautifully with no scar of any kind. Can’t even see where the mole was. I’ve also had several sessions with Alla to remove some large discoloured areas on my face. Alla is very professional, friendly, and a joy to talk to. I’m really happy with how the dark patches have lightened, and will be back for some other treatments. 4. Dr. Cory Torgerson Facial Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
SKILLS | ★★★★☆ |
EQUIPMENT | ★★★★☆ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Since 2008, Dr. Cory Torgerson has been applying his expertise in plastic surgery and providing treatment to patients. He does this through various surgical and non-surgical procedures in his self-named facial cosmetic surgery and laser center.
This clinic also has their own line of recommended skin care products for after surgery care and daily use.
The mole removal that they offer is usually through laser treatment, but there are times when they may recommend shaving or cutting out through a laser.
Their photorejuvenation procedure enables them to improve skin discolorations and other irregularities such as moles in less than 30 minutes. This procedure is considered a safe, common, and relatively fast option with minimal risk as the usual side effect is only redness.
We do note that photorejuvenation is usually completed within a few treatments that are at least 4 weeks apart. This part can be a little heavy in terms of finances as the repetition depends on your skin situation.
Clients can increase their savings though by checking out whether the clinic has promotions for the month, as procedures can come with big discounts sometimes.
All said, we recommend Dr. Cory Torgerson Facial Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center given their tenure and expertise. Their background in the field ensures that procedures will be executed well and with caution.
Pros
- 14 years in the business
- Offers photorejuvenation and laser
- Has special promos during selected periods
Cons
- Occasional photorejuvenation can be costly
- Closed during weekends

5. The Centre for Minor Surgery
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
SKILLS | ★★★★☆ |
EQUIPMENT | ★★★★☆ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
One of the youngest cosmetic surgery clinics in Toronto is The Centre for Minor Surgery by Royal College-certified surgeons and brothers Dr. Robert Backstein and Dr. Richard Backstein.
The focus of this clinic is to provide cosmetic surgery treatments for patients who encounter benign and cancerous growths.
Most of their treatments are to remove skin irregularities and other growths that may harm one’s body or overall health. For mole removals, their approach is usually laser-focused.
They initially assess patients to make sure that the method they will use is the most appropriate. They also try to perform the procedure the soonest that they can (sometimes even during the initial appointment), which is a huge plus.
We like the fact that this clinic highlights OHIP coverage and informs patients on whether or not their mole removals will be free or discounted. This is a really good reflection of their integrity as a service.
Price-wise, we would say that their starting rate is in the average range. This seems pretty fair given their experience and expertise combined.
Given that this clinic has less than 5 years experience, we can say that they still need to work on establishing their brand and gathering more patients. However, there isn’t anything alarming or negative about them thus far.
The Centre for Minor Surgery is open during weekdays only. Bookings are made online and same day treatments are possible depending on one’s concern.
Pros
- Royal College-certified surgeons
- Honors and reminds OHIP coverage
- Treatment can be done during the initial consultation
Cons
- Less than 5 years experience
- Closed during weekends
