But, of course, I didn’t want to settle for just any gym—I wanted the best.

Empact Fitness is a multicultural strength and conditioning gym focused on helping you grow—not just physically, but as an individual. And they offer plenty of ways to do that, including their popular Hyrox training classes.
Their Hyrox classes are held 7 days a week. They’re designed to build up your endurance, strength, and agility, so you’ll be more than prepared for those eight infamous Hyrox workout stations.
During these classes, you’ll tackle sled pushes and pulls, rowing, and burpee broad jumps. These are all combined with intervals of running, rowing, or biking.
When it comes to pricing, we like their affordable package of $139/month, giving you access to eight Hyrox classes a month. But if you’re not ready to commit, their 7-day trial package for $35 is a great way to test things out.
Note, however, that their variety of Hyrox class types is a bit limited.

We appreciate their affordable $49 Two-Week Trial offer, which includes unlimited access to all their classes for 14 days.
Plus, you can enjoy the vibe of their cafe and lounge after class—a great place to refuel with a protein smoothie or just hang out with your training crew.
Sadly, their Hyrox classes are held only on Sundays, and they alternate between two different locations. So if your schedule is tight, this might be a bit inconvenient.

4. Academy of Lions
Since 2008, the Academy of Lions has been a community-focused class-based gym. They offer functional fitness, gymnastics, weightlifting, and of course, Hyrox-prep classes
To prepare for Hyrox, they provide a 13-week MetCon class to build up your cardio, endurance, and technique. It starts in July and leads up to the Hyrox race in October, progressively increasing in both intensity and volume.
For more experienced participants, they recommend combining their MetCon classes with Powerlifting, Track Club, and Run Crew programs.
And if you’re new to the gym or just want to get a feel for it, they offer a free Fundamentals class every Saturday at noon—perfect for checking out the vibe.
Speaking of vibe, don’t forget to check out their cafe that offers healthy snacks and drinks.
One thing to note is that the space can get a bit noisy, especially during peak hours.
By far the best CrossFit gym in downtown Toronto
“This is by far the best crossfit gym in downtown Toronto. The coaching is amazing – everyone is highly knowledgeable, they have specialty coaches in gymnastics, olympic lifting, mobility, stick mobility and strength and conditioning. The atmosphere is friendly and inclusive but also cool. And the community is outstanding. Even if you just drop by for a coffee in the cafe, this is a fun place to hang out for an hour. GoodLife Fitness has been a staple in the Canadian fitness scene since 1979. Their focus is on progress rather than perfection.
Now, for Hyrox training specifically, they provide two main programs.
First, their Hyrox Foundational Training is a group workout that focuses on building the basics for fitness. You’ll work on building strength, power, endurance, and agility—all of which are key for a Hyrox race.
For those looking to push further, the Hyrox Complete Training takes things up a notch. This program is designed to boost your stamina.
We recommend going for their “Book a Tour, Get a Free Workout” offer—simply fill out an online form to sign up for a free workout session. They even run seasonal promos, where you can save up to 70% on memberships.
However, it’s not all perfect. We heard complaints such as no hot water in the showers and some broken treadmills and bikes.
