Chica’s Chicken is the go-to place in the city for the sought-after Nashville-style hot chicken. The restaurant is the brainchild of a husband-and-wife duo that adores fried chicken and everything spicy.

We like that Chica’s Chicken creates their recipes from scratch and adds their own concepts and flavours that appeal to the people of Toronto. This produces a distinctive take on the Nashville specialty,

More than their star dish, the restaurant offers chicken sandwiches and chicken bites covered with various sauces and seasoning. They also have whole wings and a decent selection of sides and dips.

We like that you can choose from five different heat levels at Chica’s Chicken. Indeed, the couple is living up to their reputation as serious chicken and spicy food lovers.

Chica’s Chicken prides themselves on dry brining meat for two whole days, creating spice blends on-site, and sourcing chickens that are local, grain-fed, free-range, and 100% halal.

They have a welcoming and friendly staff, which we think would give you comfort because food may occasionally take a while to arrive. You might also find their neat diner-style interiors to be enjoyable.

We think it’s worth the wait as Chica’s Chicken offers generous portions. Their dishes are affordably priced, too.

However, there have been remarks on the consistency of their food. They should improve on their quality checks to avoid sending out rubbery meat.

Chica’s Chicken is open Tuesdays through Sundays for dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and catering services.

The staff are always extraordinarily nice, and the food is BANGIN’

Okay. I’m giving in. I gotta review this place. I come here all the time, and normally I don’t eat fried chicken or really American food. What makes this the exception? It’s comforting, the staff are always extraordinarily nice, and the food is BANGIN’. Honestly if you cannot afford to get addicted, do not go 🙂 You will definitely be back! Chicken is juicy and perfectly fried. Sides are tasty. Coleslaw and pickles, perfect proportions. I wish more of life could be this consistently well done. 👌 —Michelle Jia, Google Reviews

Big pieces of chicken that satisfy your cravings and keep you full for hours

“Delicious wings! Seems like the place to go if you’re in the area – it’s made to order so you know it’s fresh and hot. If you don’t want to wait, make sure to call it in ahead of time.

Big pieces of chicken that satisfy your cravings and keep you full for a few hours! The meat is tender and moist despite the outer appearance. It comes with a creamy sauce and pickles. Enough spice to give you that kick but also let you enjoy the meal; highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fried chicken place with a chill neighbourhood vibe.” —Teresa V. Yelp Reviews

Craving for more Nashville hot chicken? PG Clucks is another outstanding restaurant to get this popular delicacy.

Their original branch at College Street may be small, but they’re a big winner when it comes to taste. It’s noteworthy that PG Clucks packs flavours into their chicken with a two-step brining process, which involves lemon and herbs, and buttermilk.

Further, it’s laudable that PG Clucks has garnered numerous awards, such as National Post’s Best Fried Chicken in Canada and Toronto Life’s Best Fried Chicken Sandwich.

Speaking of chicken sandwiches, this is among PG Clucks’ treasured dishes, along with chicken fingers and popcorn chicken. However, they have limited choices for sides.

Moreover, all their chicken comes from de-boned leg meat, which may dampen the spirits of bone-in chicken fans.

You’d enjoy the huge servings, affordable rates, and deals and promos, at PG Clucks. You’d be happy with their excellent customer service as well as their well-kept diner setting.

The branch at College Street is only for takeout and delivery but is open seven days a week, while the Queen Street West branch is open Tuesdays through Sundays with dine-in, takeout, and delivery.

It’s also worthwhile to note that PG Clucks provides catering services for all of your special occasions.

Finally, an Instagramable food that lives up to the look

“Got it delivered as a midnight meal and HOLY!! It was worth every penny. The sandwich was huge, the chicken was soooooo juicy and the toppings were very generous. The mango drink was so bomb!! Taste as good as, and maybe even better, than how it looks. Finally, an Instagramable food that lives up to the look. Definitely ordering again.” —Sharon Chan, Google Reviews

Wholesome vibe and friendly service

“Super yummy and generous pieces of real chicken. Tried the sandwich first and then the tenders and both delicious. Sauces are really good. Wholesome vibe and friendly service, too.” —Fung Lee, Google Reviews

If you love to pair fried chicken with burgers, we think Cabano’s Comfort Food won’t let you down.

The restaurant is well-known for their elevated take on traditional meals such as chicken sandwiches, wings, and burgers. Furthermore, it’s impressive that they have established four branches in the country since opening their doors in 2015.

On their website, they describe themselves as a “quick service restaurant”, but at any rate, they never use frozen products. Their food is always made-to order, guaranteeing its quality.

Also, they always make sure to utilise fresh and local ingredients.

You can choose from five flavours for chicken wings, but there are only two kinds of chicken sandwiches—original or with cheese. You can get this in regular or spicy flavour though.

In our view, Cabano’s Comfort Food should consider diversifying their menu.

In terms of pricing, their menu items tend to be on the more expensive side. For all we know, their generous servings and efficient and friendly personnel may help take your mind off the prices.

We think the restaurant should also reflect on the fact that they don’t have a telephone and can only be reached through email.

Customers admire Cabano’s Comfort Food’s lovely patio-style space and modern self-ordering kiosks. See for yourself and visit them for dine-in or avail their takeout and delivery services!

The consistency of their food is the exact same

“Best burger I’ve ever had. The staff is always friendly. I’ve been to all 4 locations now and the consistency of their food is the exact same, always fresh and every bite is delicious. I cannot wait to have a picnic in Trinity Bellwoods consisting of Cabano’s burgers and wings. Keep up the good work!” —Nina Moradi, Google Reviews

Definitely on the higher quality side

“What makes it a 5/5 for me is the Cabano’s Burger Sauce. Every time I try a new burger/chicken sandwich place, I need to give their house sauce a shot. Cabano’s Burger Sauce is delicious. It’s creamy with a slight zip. It’s a blend of other condiments, but includes real egg and dairy—definitely on the higher quality side. Well worth the extra $1.25… I look forward to going back and trying their Chili Cheese Fries and Stroman Shimmy Wings.” —Nathan G. Yelp Reviews
