With over a century’s worth of experience, the club has hosted historical tennis games and has been the training ground and go-to club for Toronto tennis legends. Their website says that prominent players such as Borg, Navratilova, Connors and Evert have been to their Har-Tru courts.
A total of 14 Har-Tru courts can be found inside the vicinity. All of these are outdoor and there are also 4 indoor courts installed with plexi-cushion.
What seems to be the most redeeming factor for this place is its prestige. It has been referred to as a premier club since it opened and continues to be a place for high-end facilities and programs.
Entry fee membership usually starts at $6,000 and an upward of $2,000 per year. This is honestly a bit heavier than most rates.
The downside, of course, is that this place can often be seen as an exclusive area. It does not give off that “affordable, friendly” attitude and can be more expensive than most tennis clubs around.
Other than those mentioned, there aren’t many negative things to say about this place. It has been tested for years by various generations and is still possibly one of the top tennis clubs in the entire Canada.

For about 50 years in the business, Davisville Club has been an active and social tennis organization. It offers a variety of programs for beginners and advanced players alike, including individuals under 18.
Their packages are Adult/Junior Membership, Adult Weekday Daytime Membership, and Junior Weekday Daytime Membership. All of these come with no court fees, meaning registered members can fully enjoy the facilities under the conditions of their availed packages.
Package rates are reasonable as they are priced per season. This also makes it easy for customers who just wish to try tennis for a while and do not want long-term commitments.
Davisville has 6 well-lit courts and offers tennis lessons, games, refreshments and clubhouse facilities such as a lounge and tv area. According to the club, they have around 550 full members, 120 daytime members, and over 140 junior members.

This is the best run tennis club in the city.
This is the best run tennis club in the city. For at least the past ten years, it is sold out before opening day. The key to the success of this club is the tag board. Everyone is rated by the club pro. You can show up at any time during the summer and get a doubles hit with players at the same rating. Lots of time for singles players too…oh…and tennis balls are replaced about every two hours I believe.
The club is fortunate to have many volunteers that keep things running smoothly. The executive committee does an excellent job running all the programming such as ladders, house league, tournaments, social tennis, inter county nights, group lessons, private lessons as well as socials and BBQ.
Most of the members live in close proximity to the Davisville and Leaside area. Mostly a friendly bunch, you will enjoy lively debates while sitting waiting for your next hit.
The driving force behind the club is the tremendous leadership of President Stuart Teather, now in his fifteenth year of service who has really made the club the wonderful place it is today.

Mayfair Lakeshore was established in 1987 and offers a variety of sports activities, with tennis as one of their flagship services.
The club hosts tennis for adults and kids, including tennis camps and high performance tennis. They also have squash, golf, and multi-gym activities for those who are interested in trying a new experience.
More than 10 features and services are provided by Mayfair. These range from diverse facilities, interesting programs, and even extra spaces for leisure and relaxation.
In terms of courts, this tennis club has a total of 8 indoor courts, 13 international singles and 1 doubles squash courts. They also have facilities for cardio, weights, and they host over a hundred group activities such as yoga and cardio dance classes weekly.
Mayfair also has wellness and leisure spaces such as a spa, bistro and bar, and even a sports shop. This gives visitors a well-rounded experience, in our opinion.

Had a great experience here!
This is an extremely nice club. I came here for a university squash tournament and loved the facilities. There’s something like 13 squash courts and a doubles court. With over 70 years experience, Leaside Tennis Club has been serving generations of tennis players and enthusiasts. This seasonal club is known to rent the Clubhouse at Trace Manes Park from the city of Toronto starting from April up to October every year.
The good thing about Leaside is that they embrace diversity, opening their facility to anybody who is eager to play tennis. They even crafted a program for young players anywhere between the age of 6-18.
All 6 courts of this tennis club were resurfaced in 2018 and feature a deco turf surface. The club supplies all of the equipment surrounding their facilities.
Leaside also boasts its various teams and social clubs. It has 7 adult teams across different leagues and treats its members as parts of a sports community.
Their membership plans are affordable, starting from an average of $150 to the highest plan being $240. They also offer a holding plan, which gives renewing or returning members the option to think about pushing through their membership.
Honestly, the only negative thing we can really say about this club is that it only operates for a few specific months. This makes membership plans a little more to think about as people may not be able to maximize their annual payments.
On top of that, potential customers may resort to other tennis clubs around the area given the limited operating schedule of Leaside. It is also not the most premium club out there as there is nothing spectacular about its courts and facilities.
Overall, we see Leaside as a humble and simple tennis club. It may not be as prestigious as the others but it lives up to its goal of being a club that encourages, fosters, and promotes the game of tennis.

Probably the most affordable tennis club in this list, Forest Hill Tennis Club has been around for less than a century. Established in 1930, this was mainly built to serve the community of Forest Hill and later on reached people from nearby areas.
What really makes Forest Hill stand out is its budget rates. This makes it a perfect option for anyone who is just curious about tennis as a sport or even those who really want to develop their skills without spending too much.
Currently, the four full-lit hard courts of this facility are awaiting updated lighting this 2022. The four courts are annually available as soon as the month of May starts.
Included in the affordable packages of Forest Hill are access to all of the courts during club hours, social events, singles play at any time, and optional league play with no extra fees.
In all fairness, this club is pretty straightforward. We appreciate how it really just aims to serve as a venue for tennis players and enthusiasts.
Of course, being straightforward has its downsides. One, this place doesn’t have many courts, which can be a deal breaker for many.
Another thing is that it does not offer any other services or facilities for members. It is undeniable that membership packages nowadays do look for that extra flare.
However, Forest Hill really steps up in terms of affordability. Aside from all the access it grants its members, it also offers tennis lessons that can be paid per hour.
A club supervisor is always present as well, so members can find compatible players with their help. Kids are also granted assistance and supervision during games.
