For me, a Toronto breakfast just isn’t complete without eggs, be it scrambled, poached, sunny-side-up, or packed into a breakfast sandwich from your favorite local spot. But have you ever thought about where those eggs actually come from?
You might be shopping at the farmers’ market, trying to connect with egg suppliers, or just curious about how TO’s best eggs are raised. Whatever the case may be, if you care about sourcing fresh, ethical, and top-quality eggs, you’re in the right place.
In this guide, we’re spotlighting the best chicken egg producers in Toronto. Check them out (like I did!) for delicious and nutritious eggs year-round!
How much do pasture-raised, organic eggs cost in Toronto?
Pasture-raised, organic eggs in Toronto cost between $5 and $10 per dozen, depending on the farm and vendor.
Prices can vary based on certification, feed quality, and whether you’re buying from a farmers’ market, specialty grocer, or directly from a local farm.
1. Farm Fresh Eggs

Since 1999, Farm Fresh Eggs has lived up to its name, selling fresh white, brown, peewee, and jumbo eggs from a Cooktown farm.
Sure, it’s a bit of a drive from Toronto, but I really enjoy the scenic ride through the countryside. In fact, most of their regular customers make the trip from the city, and once you’ve tried their eggs, you’ll understand why.
Not only are they delicious, but they’re really affordable, too: white eggs go for just $4 per dozen or $10 for a flat tray, while brown eggs are $5.25 per dozen($13/flat). For big breakfasts, they also sell jumbo eggs for $16/flat.
And if you don’t mind imperfections, they even sell cracked eggs. These are great for folks who use them for bulk baking, fertilizer, or animal feed.
Best eggs we have ever had
“We came across the egg store by chance and bought eggs. Best eggs we have ever had. We now travel over an hour one way to get eggs. Well worth it!!!”

Best eggs, fantastic prices, & a beautiful drive
“Just came across this wonderful place and don’t know how I ate eggs before! These are the best eggs, fantastic prices, and a beautiful drive. What could be better? I won’t buy eggs anywhere else!”

2. Schmucker’s Fresh From The Farm

While Schmucker’s Fresh From The Farm carries a range of thoughtfully sourced products, from hormone-free meats to homemade meals, it’s their eggs that really shine.
You’ll find an impressive variety here—free-range, duck, and quail.
Their pastured eggs are a bestseller. The yolks are a deep marigold color, and the whites are firm and stand tall in the pan.
Their secret? The chickens are fed a custom blend of corn and soybean meal, grown right on their farm near Millbank. It’s all GMO- and chemical-free (totally unprocessed), and customers swear that they can taste the difference.
Yes, the price tag is a bit higher than what you’d pay at the supermarket. But some think it’s worth it since you’re buying more than just eggs—you’re supporting a way of farming that puts animal welfare and sustainability first.
The eggs taste amazing!
“They have pasture-raised chicken and eggs, and non-GMO and grass-fed beef! The pricing is also pretty good and fair! They also have a variety of products of great quality. The eggs taste amazing!”

Eggs are always super fresh
“Love this store!! Best soup shank, bones for broth, quality grass-fed meat, and organs; it is so rare to find such a variety of cuts that are grass-fed. Eggs are always super fresh. Homemade meals and treats are delicious. And then lavender hand cream, which I often buy for gifts too, it is really soothing, my favorite.”

3. Carma Farms

Carma Farms is a family-run spot that has been growing since Paul and Mary sold extra produce from their backyard in Agincourt. Now, it’s a full-fledged, 200-acre Markham farm run by the next generation.
The eggs here are so popular that they actually limit customers to two dozen per visit!
I just love the rich, golden yolks on their eggs (from pasture-raised hens), which cook beautifully whether you’re frying or poaching. Plus, they’re super affordable at only $6 per dozen or $13 per flat.
Before or after buying eggs, I recommend checking out or even feeding their animals. Admission is only $2 per person, and you can grab a feed bucket for $10—it’s a fun, wholesome activity that the whole family can enjoy.
Do watch out for the owner, who might not always be cheerful.

4. Homestead Farm

Opened in 1953, Homestead Farm started with just one cow, Maggie, whose descendants still make up part of the herd. Today, they offer not just dairy products but also a wide selection of eggs.
Their brown and white eggs come in a variety of sizes, from 40g to 73g. I love that they’re priced fairly, too—around $5.50/dozen or $9.75 for a tray of 30.
Specialty free-run eggs are also available, if you want a more ethical or flavorful option.
For those thinking of selling eggs themselves, you can apply to become a wholesale retailer/buyer via their website.
While you’re there, don’t just buy eggs. Stock up on pantry staples like cheeses, honey, pickles, sausages, and even meat pies.
Just a heads up, though. We heard that some of their staff are a bit unfriendly.
Hands down, the best place for fresh, high-quality eggs
“My Go-To Spot for Fresh, Delicious Eggs. I’ve been getting my eggs from Homestead for a while now, and it’s hands-down the best place for fresh, high-quality eggs. The difference in taste is incredible—rich, flavorful yolks and firm whites that beat anything you’ll find at the grocery store. Whether I’m baking or making breakfast, I can always count on these eggs to deliver great results.”

All the products are fresh and absolutely delicious
“A great local farm selling fresh eggs, dairy, chicken, and baked goods. We drive here from Toronto often, and it never disappoints. On our latest visit, we bought a tray of free-range brown eggs, quail eggs, a loaf of sourdough brioche, and non-homogenized milk. All the products are fresh and absolutely delicious. I’m happy to consume these organic and pure products and share them with family and friends.”

5. Diversity Farms

Diversity Farms is a family-owned homestead that uses sustainable practices to grow and produce farm-fresh products. They’re mostly known for their eggs, which are often laid just hours before you pick them up.
Their hens have access to the outdoors year-round, snacking on commercial grain mix along with whatever they can forage naturally. We love that they’re also raised without chemicals, hormones, or antibiotics.
A dozen eggs will run you about $10, which is on the higher end compared to other producers. You’ll get the best selection if you stop by after 2 PM when that day’s eggs are put out, but they’re available all day while supplies last.
While most customers (including me) rave about their delicious eggs, not all are wowed by the taste. A few have reported that they taste like something from a grocery store.
Egg quality is far superior to other eggs I’ve tried
“I have been getting my pasture-raised eggs from Diversity Farms for the last year, and I can confidently say that after trying other farmers’ eggs, the quality of the eggs at Diversity Farms is far superior to any other eggs I have tried in Ontario. In addition to that, I have had small interactions with the family a few times, and they have always been very informative and helpful!”

The most beautiful eggs come from this farm
“The most beautiful eggs come out of this farm. Just Wow. The owners are super friendly, and we ONLY get our eggs from here now. We don’t eat Meat, but a good, clean way to eat eggs is from Diversity !! MUST COME HERE !”
