My aunt used to have this constant pain in her foot that stopped her from enjoying long walks and dancing at family parties. Turns out, her bunions were the culprit, causing all that discomfort with every step—no amount of creams or DIY fixes could help anymore.
After having bunion surgery (also called a bunionectomy), she felt like a new person—walking pain-free and back to her old lively self!
If you’re dealing with similar foot pain, here are Toronto’s best bunion surgery clinics to help you get back on your feet.
How much does bunion surgery cost in Toronto?
Bunion surgery in Toronto typically costs between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the complexity of the procedure and the surgeon’s expertise.
Factors like the type of surgery, hospital fees, and post-operative care can also affect the total price.
How We Chose the Best Bunion Surgery Clinics in Toronto
1. InStride Podiatry

InStride Podiatry is led by Laura Desjardins. She has an impressive background that includes treating elite athletes, like an Olympic Gold medalist, and serving as the on-call chiropodist for the Toronto Raptors.
Her clinic offers three main approaches to bunion surgery.
The Osteotomy realigns the bone in your big toe for a more natural foot structure. On the other hand, the Exostectomy removes the bony bump, which is great if you need relief without major joint adjustments.
For more severe cases or when arthritis is present, they offer Arthrodesis, which fuses the big toe joint for stability and pain relief.
During your consultation, the podiatrist will create a personalized treatment plan and will choose the most suitable procedure based on your foot structure.
One area for improvement, though, is their booking system, which we heard is a bit messy.

2. Accent On Feet

Accent On Feet was created by the renowned Dr. Hartley Miltchin, a.k.a. “The Bunion King.” With over 35 years of experience, he established the clinic as a world leader in Minimally Invasive Surgeries (MIS) for bunions and hammertoes.
The first step is a consultation where digital X-rays help determine if surgery can be avoided. In some cases, prescription orthotics might be all you need to correct the issue, saving you from going under the knife.
If bunion surgery is necessary, you’re in luck. Dr. Miltchin’s expertise in minimally invasive bunionectomy techniques makes sure that your recovery will be quicker and less painful, with minimal scarring.
While the clinic’s medical services are top-notch, we did hear reports of calls not being returned promptly—something to keep in mind when booking or following up.

3. North York Foot Clinic

North York Foot Clinic specializes in all things related to feet and ankles, including bunion surgery. It’s led by Samuel Rosenwald, B.Sc, D.Ch., who has been treating patients since 1985.
The clinic features a welcoming space with a reception area, three examination rooms, and an onsite lab, which we think is pretty convenient.
Now, their approach to bunion surgery includes two main categories:
The head procedure bunionectomy involves cutting the bone just behind the joint, repositioning it, and securing it with a screw or pin. This is perfect for those who can’t afford lengthy immobilization.
The base procedure focuses on the bone near or behind the big toe joint, with various techniques like cutting a wedge out of the bone to realign it.
However, be prepared for potentially less-than-friendly interactions at the reception, as we heard about their unfriendly receptionist.
Staff are professional, helpful, and thoughtful
“Staff are professional, helpful, and thoughtful. I’ve visited this clinic 3 times. Totally satisfied.”

4. Clearpoint Surgical Toronto

Clearpoint Surgical Toronto has six state-of-the-art operating rooms and private, well-appointed rooms for overnight stays. We like that they’re also easily accessible via major highways and Toronto International Airport.
In terms of bunion surgery, they specialize in the MICA (Minimally Invasive Chevron Akin) surgical option. This not only realigns the bone but also addresses soft tissue issues, potentially offering better results than traditional methods.
Patients love it because recovery is quicker—no waiting for the bone to fuse—and there’s less pain thanks to the smaller incision.
Your journey begins with a thorough consultation. Make sure to prepare your questions, as their orthopedic surgeon will help determine whether a traditional bunionectomy or the MICA procedure is right for you.
One downside—we heard about staff arriving very late for appointments.
Everyone at this clinic was absolutely fabulous
“I had foot surgery Nov 10 and everyone at this clinic was absolutely fabulous. My surgery was on time, all staff were efficient and wonderfully warm and empathetic. All of my pre-surgery anxiety was erased with the professionalism and pleasant staff. If all surgery clinics could be as civilized as this one it would be amazing! Thank you to all of the lovely staff and of course to my incredible surgeon for a successful surgery!”

5. Walkrite Foot Clinic

Walkrite Foot Clinic is led by George Panagiotopoulos, D.Ch. He’s a member of both the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
We’re also impressed to learn about their many awards like the Consumers Choice Award for 2024.
Now, let’s talk bunion surgery—it begins with a thorough consultation process. Dr. Panagiotopoulos assesses your health, age, activity level, and lifestyle to design a procedure that offers lasting relief.
He can remove the abnormal bone enlargement or realign the first metatarsal. He can also use the Syndesmosis procedure to connect parallel bones—each approach is carefully chosen to address specific pathologies and maximize patient comfort.
The only con? Booking appointments can be a bit of a challenge due to high demand.
Offers the best service to anyone who cares about their feet
“Dr. Panagiotopoulos and Jasmine offer the best service to anyone that cares about their feet. Their care and compassion for people of all ages is evident. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who cares about the most important part of their body!”
