Best Places for Donuts in Toronto
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

It’s no secret that Canucks have a bit of a thing for donuts. I mean, there are more donut shops per person in Canada than anywhere else on the planet — talk about a hole-y obsession!

And hey, with coffee reigning supreme as Canada’s top beverage (ranked 9th globally for coffee-guzzling), it’s only natural that donuts would tag along as the perfect sidekick.

So, which sugar-coated sanctuaries made the grade? Let’s dish the deets and find out where to get your fix!

With three spots in Toronto (Lewis, Adelaide, Yorkdale) and a cheeky pop-up in NYC’s Lower East Side, COPS is making doughnut dreams come true worldwide.

Alex White is the Aussie barista turned doughnut kingpin behind COPS. He’s got a knack for business, having dabbled Down Under before making his mark in Toronto.

And why “COPS”? Well, rumor has it, it’s a nod to the boys in blue and their love for doughnuts.

Their sweet secret to success is thousands of mini doughnuts whipped up daily. It’s all thanks to Alex’s doughnut obsession and a little help from a food scientist and a chef.

They’ve got flavors like cinnamon sugar, OG glazed, and a new surprise every Monday, announced via their Insta feed.

Machino’s got a lineup of monthly rotating flavors that’ll make your head spin. They’ve got coconut cream-filled, glazed almond dolce de leche, and cinnamon apple with actual chunks of apple.

And don’t even get us started on their chocolate-covered Ferrero Rocher and peanut butter cheesecake varieties. They’re big on sustainability, using natural plant-based goodies and making sure any leftover donuts find their way to local food banks.

But in 2019, they had to move to a bigger venue to keep up with demand. Then the pandemic hit, and they had to pivot to survive, focusing on their beloved Isabella’s Mochi donuts.

You’ll often catch these brothers hustling and bustling around the joint because SanRemo is their baby. And oh boy, do they know how to whip up a storm!

Their claim to fame? Those heavenly, pillowy doughnuts that folks just can’t get enough of.

Lemon meringue or strawberry jam-filled, it’s a messy affair that’s worth every sticky bite!

These donuts? Fluffier than a cloud on a sunny day, topped with all sorts of deliciousness like crushed Oreo bits. Oh, did we mention they’ve got vegan options too?
