“Dim Sum King is as authentic as you can get – this is one of the few remaining places that has staff pushing the carts with dishes around. The prices here are pretty good relative to other places in Chinatown. The food is okay. The best thing we had was the pan fried shrimp dumpling, which I’ve never had at any other restaurant. Otherwise the rest of the typical dim sum dishes were good. The issue was the curry cuttlefish – it had a really fishy smell to it and honestly wasn’t that good. Overall though still happy to see places like this around!”

“This place is legit. My favorite place to go with my wife is in Boston and damn this place holds up. Hot tea was served practically before we even sat down. The room is huge with a very large dance floor where you can strut your stuff to workout the ridiculous amount of food you will be eating. Everything we ate was really tasty and definitely from scratch. Some highlights for us include the pork buns and likely the best shumai I’ve ever had. Got some short ribs in some honey sauce crispy fried. I mean damn. We also got these hockey Puck sized delicious filled things with meat and veggie oh man. Belly was full Can’t wait to take the Mrs. Also dancing? Brilliant.”

What we love about them is how they effortlessly handle large crowds, having catered for big names like IBM, Google, and Tesla. Plus, they go the extra mile by providing a catering manager to help plan everything, so your event is smooth and stress-free.
But note that their food truck might be a little hard to find sometimes since they often cater private events. It might be tricky to catch them during regular food truck hours.

“We hired Me.n.u Food Truck & BBQ Catering Company for our wedding this year and it was absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, dealing with them was a breeze! Joe and his team are super friendly, welcoming and communicative! We first encountered Me.n.u Food truck back in March 2023, where we wanted Asian Fusion style cuisine for our wedding and arranged to sample the menu. A week later, after sampling the ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS food, we knew that we needed to hire them right away. However, a month after we signed our contract, we had to change our venue to a further location than originally agreed upon but they were extremely accommodating to our transition to the new venue! On the day of the wedding, they showed up at least an hour early and worked their way through the heat of summer with giant smiles. “Chuchi, the owner of this food truck is probably the nicest person I have ever worked with! I hired his food truck, Tropical South to feed an army of people at our Charity Softball Tournament. He is always timely in arrival, super nice to customers, and finally, his food is to die for! I have tried every item on the 2023 menu and I didn’t find a single item I didn’t enjoy. I visited his truck at the CNE Food Truck Frenzy and got the Cubano and the Havana Tropic. The Cubano is a pork and cheese based sandwich where all the flavours meld into a delicious blend of savoury delight. The Havana Tropic juice is fruity and refreshing with a hint of mint hitting you at the end. Perfect for a hot summer day. I highly recommend you try Tropical South as you will not regret it!”

“What a find!!!! Always want to try something a little different while at the CNE… well Tropical South is a gem!!! Chuchi, a great host!! Wonderfully prepared Cuban street food. The Yuca Mainia, WOW what great find!! Yuca was delicious with a great topping of beef, a fresh salad and delicious Mojo sauce. Then to add to a beautifully prepared dish; a wonderful refreshing pineapple drink with a perfect balance of mint and ginger. All I can say is WOW!!! Incredibly prepared, wish he had a restaurant somewhere. I would be definitely be a regular !!! If you get a chance, try him out, you won’t be disappointed!!!”
