Where to Purchase Car Parts in Toronto
The following factors were used to examine each of the car parts shops in this list:
1. Strictly European Motors Ltd
SELECTION | ★★★★★ |
Quality of items | ★★★★★ |
Range of options | ★★★★★ |
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
PRICES | ★★★★★ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Strictly European Motors Ltd started as a small Toronto shop in 1995. They have grown to be among the go-to shops for car parts in Toronto because of the relationships they have established with clients and suppliers over the years.
What we most like about this shop is the number of brands they carry. They are recognized as experts in the brands Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche.
They are a full service repair shop on top of them being a car parts store. This is great because they can be a one-stop shop for those who need repair services and reliable car parts.
We also like how shopping on Strictly European Motors’ website is so convenient. There is a menu bar that allows customers to filter and narrow down options that are relevant to what they are looking for, saving a lot of time.
Of course, this service isn’t perfect. We found out that some of their new and existing customers had trouble with setting up appointments or even suffered from unreturned to no calls at all about their concerns.
They should also fix their communication with customers/clients, as some people come to their shop only to be told that they cannot be accommodated or granted a service. This may take a toll on them in the long run.
Still, we can say that Strictly European Motors Ltd is generally reliable for finding car parts and car part replacement or repair services. They have a great grasp of automotive parts and years of experience in the industry.
Pros
- Almost 30 years in service
- Experts in Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche
- Also performs car parts replacements and repairs
- Great website shopping experience
Cons
- Has issues in terms of setting up appointments
- Has reports of unreturned calls or unaddressed concerns

2. Ahon Auto Parts
SELECTION | ★★★★★ |
Quality of items | ★★★★★ |
Range of options | ★★★★★ |
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
PRICES | ★★★★★ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Being in the Toronto automotive business scene for over 30 years, Ahon Auto Parts is undeniably one of the most trusted places for car parts replacement in the city.
They are a family owned-business and are sponsors of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), a charity in Toronto. This is great for their reputation as it shows that they are an honest business with a heart.
On the technical side, we like Ahon Auto Parts simply because they are well-organized. They have a structured product card that shows which brands they carry for a specific item and customers can even request for a catalog on their website.
The staff here are also very friendly and helpful. They do have a small shop with limited parking, which can be a disadvantage.
We also note that a customer reported that they suddenly became unresponsive. Though this may only be an instance, it can still be damaging to their reputation and is still a reflection of bad service.
Other than those mentioned, we don’t really find anything alarming about Ahon Auto Parts. They deal with almost every make and model and have sufficient car parts.
We recommend them for the great service that their physical store has been providing generations.
Pros
- 32 years’ experience
- Caters to almost every make and model
- Highly recommended for car parts replacement
- Products are well-organized online and instore
Cons
- Shop is smaller than competitors’ and has limited parking
- Few reports of suddenly being unresponsive

3. PartSource Toronto

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
PartSource is a Canadian specialty automotive store that has about 90 chains all over the country. They began in 1999 and their Toronto store carries the same level of expertise and amount of experience.
The best thing about PartSource is that their staff are all auto parts professionals and car care specialists, whichever branch one may go to. We like how they offer over 300,000 car parts and how they are able to explain to customers what they need.
They are also very quick to access car parts. They claim that they can do it within the same day or overnight, and they have proven this in a number of situations and customer visits.
We like how PartSource Toronto is particularly well-maintained and very clean. It also has a very distinct building design, so people are able to see it easily.
Do take note that all PartSource stores have been acquired by Canadian Tire Corporation since 2013, so most products in their stores are from the same company now. This isn’t a bad thing, but some brands you need may not be found here.
We also found that there are a number of reports about the Toronto branch having bad customer service. Some customers were left on hold for an average of 10 minutes, while some struggled to even reach the line.
All said, we believe that visiting PartSource is still worth it and safe. Their Toronto branch has way more positive feedback than bad ones and are usually able to address concerns and find the best car parts for customers.
Pros
- Almost 24 years in the business
- Staff are auto parts professionals and car care specialists
- Offers over 300,000 car parts
- Can perform some services same day or overnight
Cons
- Has reports of terrible customer service call experiences
- Some automotive brands are unavailable

4. Canadian Auto Parts Depot
SELECTION | ★★★★☆ |
Quality of items | ★★★★★ |
Range of options | ★★★★☆ |
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |
PRICES | ★★★★★ |
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Canadian Auto Parts Depot is a local business that was founded in 2012. People especially like this shop because of the great prices they have.
Apart from having OEM parts for various automotive brands, this shop also has imported parts. They have top of the line Japanese new and used auto parts, which are some of the most in demand in the market.
They sell products and do all repairs in their shop. They don’t have an online store, which can be a disadvantage for them especially in this digital age.
They do have an online presence, but only very minimal. They have a website that contains basic information about them and a few customer testimonials.
We also find that it is important to note that they are not associated with Canada Auto Parts. Some people often confuse them as such, but they are an independent business and have proven to be successful in being so.
Do take note that they cannot cancel an order once it has been placed, so if any issues arise you’d have to return the item you purchased and wait for the refund. The refund process may also take up to 60 days, which is something they should improve on.
Overall, we like Canadian Auto Parts Depot because they are very affordable. Their customer service is also commendable considering their experience and business level.
Pros
- More than 10 years’ experience
- OEM parts for all car makes and models
- Have top Japanese new and used auto parts
- Very affordable prices
Cons
- Minimal online presence, no online shop
- Strict order cancellation and refund process

5. Khapco Auto Parts
SELECTION | ★★★★☆ |
Quality of items | ★★★★★ |
Range of options | ★★★★☆ |
KNOWLEDGE | ★★★★☆ |

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION | ★★★★☆ |
Khapco is a homegrown Toronto business that has been around since 1987. They supply quality after parts and other car maintenance items for various brands such as Acura, Honda, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan and Volvo.
They also have a few supplies for Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, but these are not always in stock and complete.
We do note that Khapco is strictly a supplier of car parts and car maintenance needs. They do not perform any repair or replacement services, which isn’t exactly bad, but it puts them a little behind as most of their leading competitors do.
A good thing is that they have a few tips and information on how car owners can DIY a few procedures needed for their vehicle’s maintenance. We also like how they categorize their items for easier searching, both online and in-store.
Aside from parts, this shop also sells tools, cleaning items, and other car equipment. We like this because it makes Khapco a great stop if you just need to purchase some things for your car, as you can even discover additional automotive stuff.
Honestly, there isn’t really anything alarming about Khapco. We do note that some of their pricing is way more expensive than their competitors’ which can take a toll on their business.
Still, the quality of items here and the amount of their stocks make them a great car parts and equipment shop. We recommend paying them a visit if you want that car shopping experience.
Pros
- 36 years in the business
- Supplies quality after parts and other car maintenance items
- Covers many well known automotive brands
Cons
- No additional services such as car parts repairs or replacements
- Some items are priced higher than competitors’
