We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

When my cousin decided to dive headfirst into the world of Gundam, I knew he was in for a wild ride. But little did I know, he’d be calling me every other day, asking where to find the best kits in Toronto.

So, I took on the challenge and went on a Gundam store hunt around the city. After countless shop visits and chats with fellow fans, I found the best Gundam stores in Toronto.

Whether you’re a seasoned Gunpla builder or just getting started, here are the best spots in town to fuel your Gundam obsession!

Prices vary based on the kit’s grade and level, ranging from entry-level to high-end. Specialty stores or rare kits might cost more.

How We Chose the Best Gundam Stores in Toronto

Selection of Gundam Models: We assessed the variety of Gundam kits available, from entry-level models to high-end Master Grade (MG) and Perfect Grade (PG) kits.
Pricing: We looked at how competitive the prices are, considering both regular prices and any sales or discounts offered.
Special Editions and Exclusives: We checked if the stores also hosted rare and limited-edition models or collections.

Store Environment: We evaluated the store’s layout, organization, and overall shopping experience, making sure it’s easy and enjoyable to browse.
Additional Services: We reviewed any extra services offered, such as guidance for building and online ordering options.

On the downside, a few people have mentioned that reaching them online can sometimes be tricky, with the staff being unresponsive.

Pros

  • Wide selection of Gunpla kits and Gundam models
  • Constantly updating inventory
  • Knowledgeable and friendly staff
  • Promotions and discounts for older models

Cons

  • Can be unresponsive to online queries

Good selection of model kits, figures, paints, and other tools for hobbyists

“It was my gf and I’s first time checking out the Mississauga branch. Upon entering the store, we were greeted with a warm welcome by one of the staff. They had on display some of the products to help visualize the different sizes/scale of the models.

The store is well lit, very organized, well priced, and had a good selection of model kits, figures, paints and other tools for hobbyists. They also have preorders available online for the latest drops. The friendly staff makes a very big difference as they were approachable and helpful. Will definitely be coming back again once we finish building one of the model kits we picked up.”

Lots of gundams to choose from

“I thought there won’t be enough to choose from coz it’s a small space but I was wrong. We were greeted right away and felt welcomed. Lots of gundams to choose from and other stuff as well. Will def come back. Thank you for a pleasant shopping experience. Staff were very kind and was able to answer our questions.”

Wheels & Wings Hobbies is a family-owned business that has been around since 1986. It has become a long-standing favorite among hobbyists.

Their Gunpla section is seriously impressive, with kits for every level—whether you’re just starting with an HG model or diving into a challenging PG kit, they’ll have what you need.

But, that’s not all. They offer tools and paints tailored for model building—from Gunprimer to HiQ Parts. This makes it a great one-stop shop for all your Gundam needs!

If you’re on a budget, you can browse their selection of pre-owned items purchased from a collection instead of a distributor. The shop made sure to inspect all these items for flaws and price them accordingly.

Note, however, that we did hear some reports about their store staff being a bit condescending or smug towards some customers.

Pros

  • Over 40 years of experience in the business
  • Wide selection of Gunpla kits
  • Tools and paints available
  • Offers pre-owned items for cheaper prices

Cons

  • Reports of condescending and smug staff

Seemingly endless variety of models and hobby supplies

“I’ve been shopping at Wheels and Wings for a few years now and their service, expertise, knowledge and willingness to help customers is unparalleled. They have a seemingly endless variety of models and hobby supplies from the top brands and suppliers, and their online service is fast, efficient, and super easy to use. These guys also have a huge selection of preowned unbuilt model kits. I’ve since moved out of Toronto but still continue to purchase from their store online as they ship Canada-wide. Best hobby store experience, hands down.”

There’s no better place to shop than Wheels and Wings

“If you are getting into this hobby and want some advice to go along with your first kits, there’s no better place to shop than Wheels and Wings.

You can find a constant stream of new and old collections of model kits across many categories here. I got my first iwata airbrush and compressor bundle from them and could not be happier. These guys are the real deal and more than happy to chat with you and give out golden nuggets of much needed advice. I’ve been back multiple times in the past 2 month, a couple of completed models later, I’m still itching for my next visit.”

Good customer support, fair prices, & decent shipping speeds!

“I been a customer of Sunward Hobbies for a couple of months now, & I honestly have no complaints! Good Customer Support, fair prices, & decent shipping speeds! As a small Content Creator who works on models, it was hard for me to get the paints I needed/wanted in terms of prices & knowing if they’re in stock or not. But Sunward Hobbies pretty much solved that issue for me. I HIGHLY recommend them to any Canadian who’s struggling to find modeling paints for a fair price! 5 Stars!”

Massive assortment of hobby products, and their kit selection is huge

“This shop is amazing! No matter your age, you’ll feel like a kid in there. They have a massive assortment of hobby products, and their kit selection is huge! I had a great experience with Paul as well. He was super helpful in giving me some tips on what kind of airbrush I should get as a first timer. I highly recommend dropping by for a visit. The in-store experience is so much better than what you get from just visiting their website.”

  • Regularly restocks collections
  • Hosts rare finds
  • Online shipping and in-store pickup available

Cons

  • Reports of rude and condescending staff

Best selection of in-store Gunpla kits I’ve come across yet

“Fantastic location offering any Otaku goods you could imagine, particularly with the best selection of in store Gunpla kits I’ve come across yet.  Very polite staff, two of which I meant that are also bi-lingual in English and Japanese! Thanks so much! I’ll definitely be back!”

-Joseph Nicholson, Google Review

The staff here are very polite

“This little gem in Chinatown is a great place for figurines and all kinds of reading material, manga or otherwise. I came here with a friend to pick up a figurine that had around a $25 shipping cost, so if you can make it to this location on Spadina yourself then definitely check it out.

The staff here are very polite. When we arrived there was a slight lineup since they have a small capacity limit due to Covid, and once you’re in there, they give you a brief amount of time for actual browsing 10-20 minutes. It might be better for you to check out their inventory online first, but not everything that the store offers is put online so it’s still worth the trip here for the experience.”

Sunday: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Meeplemart is a fantastic spot for Gunpla enthusiasts, offering a solid selection of all the best-selling kits across the popular grades, including HG, RG, and MG.

With their frequent restocks, you can always count on finding something fresh on the shelves—we were stoked to spot the classics and most of the famous releases during our visit!

We also loved the atmosphere here since it doubles as a hub where people from the community can hang out and play games. It’s great for meeting like-minded hobbyists who can share tips on building and buying materials.

That said, since Meeplemart is primarily a gaming store, their Gundam section might not be as extensive as what you’d find in a dedicated model shop.

Pros

  • Decent selection of popular kits
  • Frequently restocks collections
  • Community hub for meeting other hobbyists

Cons

  • Limited selection for Gundam kits

Great hobby store

“Best prices for gundam kits. Their email notifications come in clutch, I was able to get two kits as soon as they sent me the restock email. Other than gundam kits, they have the best collection of paints and supplies ive been to, overall a great hobby store.”

-wonderj95, Google Review

Lowest price you can get

Very good selections of Gundam model kits at a reasonable price. The lowest price you can get compared to other hobby store in Toronto area. I ordered for pick-up the night before and was able to get it the next day right-away.”
