We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Expertise - We chose eco-refill stores that truly understand zero-waste living and guide customers with practical tips for sustainable shopping.

Product Variety - We picked stores offering a wide range of household, personal care, and pantry essentials so you can refill almost everything in one trip.

Quality - We looked for refill stores that carry high-quality, eco-friendly products that actually work and feel good to use daily.

Customer Service - We highlighted refill shops with friendly, knowledgeable staff who make eco shopping approachable for beginners and pros alike.

Value for Money - We included refill shops where prices are fair, refills are cost-effective, and customers get good value compared to packaged alternatives.

Last year, a friend of mine introduced me to the whole world of eco refills, and honestly, I can’t believe I wasn’t doing this sooner.

Every week, I swing by for my dish soap, shampoo, and all-purpose cleaner; on a monthly basis, I top up laundry detergent and hand soap. Trust me, it feels weirdly satisfying (and addictive!) to see my jars and bottles coming back full again!

So, if you want to get in on the sustainable efforts, here are the top eco refill shops in Toronto you should visit first.

How much do eco refilling services cost in Toronto?

Basic eco-refilling services in Toronto, like dish soap or all-purpose cleaner, cost around $0.40 to $0.60 per 100mL.

Pantry staples such as rice, oats, or spices are often priced close to regular grocery store rates, just without the wasteful packaging.

Contact Details: (416) 690-7373

Business Hours:

Eco-friendly living might seem daunting at first glance. But honestly, spots like The RE Place make it look easy and very accessible to everyone.

Their refill system is very straightforward. If you’re running low on laundry detergent or all-purpose cleaners, just bring your empty container and top it up instead of buying another plastic jug.

For personal care, they’ve got all the essentials covered—hand soap, deodorant, lotions, and sunscreen.

What I love most is how intentional they are with sourcing to help cut down their carbon footprint. Instead of shipping things halfway around the world, they keep it local, opting for Ontario, Canada, and North American suppliers.

Just note that their refill selection may be limited compared to other green shops.

Pros

  • Refills laundry detergent and cleaners
  • Prefers local suppliers

Cons

Amazing package-free, reusable products

“Amazing selection of package-free and reusable products. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great gift ideas.”

The Green Jar is a package-free refillery with a goal—to help people ditch single-use plastics for good.

If you’re just starting your refilling journey, they sell all the basics: bags, bottles, jars, and food storage. Afterward, you can refill household go-tos like liquid laundry soap, fabric softener, or cleaning and deodorizing staples like borax, citric acid, and essential oils.

Hygiene essentials are available as well, which include shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, and oral care items.

The only downside is if you don’t live near Midtown, refilling in person could feel inconvenient. But a cool option is skipping the trip altogether by using their subscription service—you can set up regular deliveries of your favorites at a discount.

Pros

  • Carries refilling containers
  • Refills laundry & cleaning supplies
  • Offers personal care refills
  • Provides a subscription service

Cons

There’s a great selection of household products

“The owners are wonderfully helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They care about waste reduction deeply and are active members of the community. Products are high-quality, and there’s a great selection of household products like vinegar, dishwasher tablets, shampoos, moisturizers, etc. I highly recommend it!!”

– Agata R, Google Review

Refill station has pretty much any household item

“If you’re looking to step up your eco-game at a good price point, The Green Jar is where to go. I have wanted to try a refill station for some time, but was concerned about how expensive it would be. My partner and I came in to try some dish soap and sanitizer. We told them we were newbies, and the owners gleefully showed us how the refill shop works, and even offered to fill our containers in the back if we wanted to fill a large container. Their refill station has pretty much any household item you can think of, which is great, making it a one-stop shop. They gave us so much information on how to use the products in versatile ways and how to stretch them even further. They even have a loyalty program. 2 other amazing reasons to shop here: it’s Black owned AND female-owned!! Sisters Tannis and Mara own this business and were so helpful!!”

A tiny downside is that you might encounter grumpy staff members from time to time.

Pretty Clean Shop was founded by Miriam in 2018 after she left her corporate job. Since then, this female-owned space has been dedicated to making eco-friendly living easy.

If you haven’t visited this shop yet, I recommend signing up for their newsletter first. This will give you first dibs on new collections, exclusive offers, and popular giveaways.

They have plenty of refill options, such as 1L jugs of all-purpose sprays, glass and surface cleaners, and a natural disinfecting spray.

Foaming hand soaps, glass cleaner tablets, and other stuff for smaller households are here, too, as well as personal care and bath and body items.

When it comes to green products, they do offer a wide selection. The only minor grievance I’ve heard about is their sometimes inattentive staff.

Pros

  • Newsletter signup perks
  • Offers personal care products

Cons

Pretty Clean Shop is one of my go-to spots

“Pretty Clean Shop is one of my go-to spots. I regularly refill my laundry and dishwasher soap there — it’s easy, eco-friendly, and the products actually work. Every time I walk in, I end up wanting to take half the store — they’ve got a great mix of useful, well-designed items. It’s also a solid place to grab gifts for any occasion. Everything feels thoughtful and unique. Plus, it’s nice supporting a local business that genuinely cares about sustainability.”

Contact Details: (647) 344-1875

Co-founder Nikki grew up aware of the environmental damage she saw on her childhood camping trips. Years later, she and her partner turned that awareness into action by opening Saponetti in 2016.

My favorite is their mason jar refill system promo, which lets you save up to 25% off retail while dramatically cutting down on plastic waste.

Everyday essentials are here—all-purpose cleaner, dish soap, laundry detergent, and DIY cleaner blends.

They don’t stop at household cleaning, either. Personal care refills, from hair care and hand soap to shower products and other bathroom staples, are waiting for you here.

One thing worth noting is that prices can run higher than your average big-box store.

Pros

  • Over 9 years of experience
  • Household and personal care refills

Cons

They have a high-quality product range

“I have been refilling with Saponetti for years now and am SO grateful that they exist!!! They have a high-quality product range that checks all of the boxes, makes me feel great about choosing eco, and is very fairly priced. Owners Nikki & Christian are so lovely and helpful, which makes stopping by for refills such an enjoyable experience. ❤️🌎”

– Bianca D, Google Review

Products are natural and of high quality

“This is the place you have been dreaming of if you are tired of disposing of (polluting by recycling) your household waste in plastic containers. Bulk shampoo, conditioner, body and hand soaps, liquid detergents, and even cleaning vinegar! They deliver and have a pretty amazing service. You can also come in person to refill your own bottles. All their products are natural and of high quality. My favorite brands are Sapadilla and Oneka.”
