Let’s talk about cost really quickly first.

Different dog daycare centers vary in price rates, and most of them offer their own package rates. But on average, full days cost from $12 to $38, while half days cost from $6 to $25.

You should also consider certain possible additional fees as well, such as an application fee, late pick-up fees, cancellation fees, pick-up and delivery fees, and emergency vet fees.

Customer Reviews

Great place for dogs

We looked into Petopia because of a recommendation from an owner from the same breeder as us, and we couldn’t be happier! We have been sending our girl since March of this year, when she was 5 months old. The staff are so friendly, and helpful and Méabh (Great Dane) is beyond excited when I drop her off in the morning! The live camera feeds are great and always give me a little smile when I can check in and see her having fun. The staff are great at adjusting the day to keep pups safe if it’s too hot/cold and there are toys for them to play with. When you first start going you get little report cards to let you know how your dog did throughout the day and who they made friends with, and sometimes there is little bonus treats around holidays! This is a great place! – Jennifer Cleary

Positive experience

Petopia was a really positive experience for my doggo Ginger, and for my family who had never before trusted our best friend to dog daycare or sleepovers. But the staff at Petopia were very patient and caring with our sweet but nervous Jindo. By the time we came to pick him up, he didn’t want to leave. Great work! We will be back. – Ryan Rigby

2. Parker Pet Care

Parker Pet Care
SERVICES Dog daycare; dog lodging; grooming; cat lodging
WEBSITEhttps://www.parkerpetcare.com/
ADDRESS68 Floral Pkwy, North York, ON M6L 2B9, Canada
CONTACT DETAILS+1 416-241-4697
OPERATING HOURSMonday – Friday:  7:00 AM-7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Building its reputation for 70 years, Parker Pet Care is anything but inexperienced. And we saw this in their services and facilities.

They have large play areas, which include a pool for splashing around in, and areas for one-on-one bonding with owners. These are under constant supervision by qualified and caring personnel, who will also keep a close eye on your older pets and those with medical conditions.

What stood out to us is their unparalleled customer service coupled with extensive animal knowledge. It may have come with the experience, but they really are able to offer comfort and safety while still maintaining that fun-filled and loving atmosphere.

Like other dog daycare services in Toronto, they also offer some additional benefits that the customers could take advantage of. In their case, it’s the Parker Perks Loyalty Program, where you can earn points for every dollar you spend and can redeem the points for cash credit on any of their services.

Many customers praise the place’s reliability, responsiveness, professionalism, and quality service. Dog owners are happy that their pets came out satisfied with the experience, and they themselves receive positive customer service from the staff.

But there also have been several complaints of instances of lack of professionalism. That said, we think the many positives outweigh these relatively rare complaints, plus matters can be easily straightened out with them.

Pros

  • Experienced and constant educational development
  • Has a pool for dogs
  • Provides constant supervision
  • Has a loyalty program that offers great benefits
  • Constant communication

Cons

  • Reports of lack of professionalism

Customer Reviews

Highly recommended

I would highly recommend Parker Pet Care! I was referred to them by a fellow dog owner. I stopped by and the front desk receptionist was very helpful giving me lots of information on their boarding and daycare services. I took Mateo to his first complimentary daycare day last Friday and Mateo had a blast. I was given a report card on his day with comments and pictures about his interaction with other dogs and staff members. The facility was very clean coming into their reception area and the ladies were super friendly and welcoming. I have already recommended them to another dog owner and will continue to use their services in the future. – Steve Kaiser

Tried-and-tested

I have been using Parker Pet Care for 30 years off and on and their service is always top-tier. Last week we boarded a relatively new-to-us dog with some anxiety  issues not knowing how he would react. From the moment he got there he was made to feel comfortable and loved. They reported to us every other day which was reassuring. We could have our three day mini vacation knowing he was in the best possible hands. They are simply exceptional at pet care. – Cathay Shilton

You can choose from among their variety of full-day and half-day daycare packages. However, they emphasize several requirements.

First, new clients must be committed to having their dog attend daycare at least once a week, to ensure a good relationship with your dog and harmony with the pack.

Second, all dogs must be up to date with flea prevention, vaccinations, and Bordetella shots.

Third, puppies must be a minimum of 14 weeks before starting.

Fourth, all dogs above 8 months of age must be spayed/neutered.

Finally, the dogs should have no history of aggression.

Impactful experience

Really blown away by the amazing amount of knowledge that the staff at pack of paws have when working with the doggos. They have really helped our Covid-cooped pups build confidence and improve their doggy communication style. The daily Instagram updates are a great way to brighten up the day. – B K

Perfect service for dog daycare

Our dogs’ previous owners never really socialized her so we were having a lot of trouble getting her to behave around other dogs. We didn’t think that we’d find a daycare that could handle her but when we first met Diana, we knew that Pack of Paws would be perfect for Ginger. Diana and her team have taught us so much about our dog and she’s so much better around other dogs now. Also, she smells great when she comes home which is really surprising because all the other places we visited didn’t smell that great. If you’re not bought in yet, they also share excellent videos of the dogs from their Instagram page. – Jade Khiev

Paws Playgrounds was founded by a dog-loving couple from Vancouver, which we find reassuring since it means that they understand the needs and wants of actual pet owners.

Paws Playgrounds offer full-service dog boarding, luxury dog daycare, puppy play date, dog bathing, and even cat sitting. You can also visit them for a free assessment and a free trial day.

What we like the most about Paws Playgrounds is that their full-service dog boarding has orthopedic beds (really nice feature for those with senior dogs), 12 spacious sleeping suits for boarding guests, and private rooms for breakfast and dinner service. And these are just some of their facility’s features.

Paws Playground is one of the largest private daycares for dogs in the city, actually. Their 10,000 square foot facility contains a huge outdoor playground, tunnels, slides, and splash pools.

They also have large climate-controlled indoor playgrounds with rubberized mats and agility playsets for winter days.

Many customers, when asked about the place, cited how happy their dogs were at the daycare. They also praised the great facility and very friendly staff.

It’s worth noting that the daycare received some criticisms from certain customers as well, but they still reached out to the dog owners to handle the issues. We find this to be quite reassuring, as it tells you that they care about continued customer satisfaction.

Excellent work

Some say that a tired dog is happy dog, so Paws Playgrounds makes an excellent Job! Every single person there is amazing. A shout-out to Karl who is amazing and so kind. Poppy is just a puppy and she loves going there. She gets home tired and sleeps the whole night! Oh, the place is extremely safe so I feel relief when I drop her off! THANK YOU GUYS!! – Mariana Rilko Alvarenga

Positive experience for dogs

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Paws Playgrounds from my first foster dogs adoption day (image included) to my first adopted dogs own playdate! The staff here are incredibly helpful, professional, supportive, kind, and responsive. I can’t say enough positive things about them. The outdoor play area is completely secure and has lots of space for the dogs to run around and play. I will say that my dog did get quite dirty, however, they offer baths which is an amazing plus! – Amy Berkowitz

Soulmutts Toronto Ltd. is a group of trained pack leaders offering trustworthy and personal dog care services. They treat the dog pack as a family.

Since 2008, Soulmutts has been providing dog walking, dog daycare, and dog boarding services. They offer high-energy off-leash and indoor/outdoor social play in one of the largest private spaces in Downtown Toronto.

We find their facilities to be their most notable aspect, complemented by the quality of their staff and services.

They also have the largest and safest dog transportation in the city. Instead of using personal vehicles or outfit passenger vehicles with flimsy baby gates and area rugs, they use customized commercial fleet vans to transport their dog pack, utilizing the large Mercedes Benz Sprinters and Ford E-250s.

When asked about the daycare, customers commended the staff’s display of extreme experience and genuine care, and overall incredible service.

Their most notable issues come from their walking services, which some customers say are either done with little to no assurance or not done at all. But it seems that they have communicated with them properly, which is important.

Pros

  • Best for high-energy plays
  • Large private spaces for plays
  • Large and safe transportation for dogs

Cons

  • Sometimes unresponsive

Praiseworthy service

Ollie (my dog) has been going to SOULMUTTS since we moved to Toronto in 2018. They have been the best thing for him and for an anxious dog mom! I was so worried about finding a reliable dog sitter/walker/boarding location/groomer, and SOULMUTTS provides all that! They are so accommodating when they can be also! I never have to spend my time worrying when I am away from Ollie as I know he’s in the best hands. I trust SOULMUTTS the way I would a family member to care for my dog! They’re highly responsive, budget friendly service! Can’t recommend and praise enough! – Kris

Reliable and professional service

Very happy with my first time here. My dog has special needs that they attended to very closely and kept me updated even though I probably messaged 10 times more than I had to. I am a worry wart but they kept me up to speed and made sure that my boy was taken care of the way I take care of him in my home. I have boarded my dog many times before and have not had such reliable experiences so we will be coming back to you guys for sure. Thank you again very much for everything. I was actually able to enjoy my time away knowing he was so well taken care of. – Illona Kumpel
