Now, he proudly cruises to work during the week and takes the same bike out for some mountain biking on weekends. Naturally, I got jealous and brought my own bike to the same place he went to.

How much do custom bicycles cost in Toronto?
In Toronto, custom bicycle builds from scratch usually start around $1,500 to $2,000 for mid-range parts. The cost can climb well past $6,000 to $8,000 for high-end frames and components.
Fitting or upgrading your current bike is more affordable, with professional bike fitting services typically running $200 to $400.

Saddle Pressure Mapping is offered, too, which can show you where pressure points are and how to fix them.
Keep in mind, though, that their service department gets swamped during peak season (April to June). If you need work done, it pays to book early.

Then, you can choose from one of their many custom bike packages—a popular one is the Essential Package, which offers safety, reliability, and smoothing out details. If extra parts or labor are needed, they’ll give you a heads up before doing anything.
Just note that we heard about their slow turnaround times, so you might need to wait a bit before getting your bike.
In addition to being a shop, they also have a coffee bar inside, making it a cool hangout spot where cyclists can chill and vibe with each other.

Since 2014, Toronto Bike Repair has been a neighborhood staple in Bloorcourt Village, located right at Ossington and Bloor. In fact, they service around 4,000 bikes per year, so you know they’re legit.
It’s run by a team with a background in metal casting and fabrication, giving them an edge when it comes to building custom bikes.
You’ll start with a meeting, which includes a conversation or an assessment so that you have a clear idea of what needs to be done.
Afterward, they’ll walk you through possible custom fixes, tune-ups, upgrades, or repairs. We like that they don’t push unnecessary extras, either.
The only downside is the high pricing. But we think their skill and level of care sort of balance it out.
