You know how sometimes you just need a mini break from work or life? There are just days when you deserve to go somewhere cozy and sip coffee because you’ve been a really good boy or girl (you see where I’m going with this, right?).
Yep, your dog needs that too.
As a lifelong fur parent and cafe-hopping local, I’ve scoured Toronto for the best dog-friendly cafes where both you and your pup can chill and snack. Because, guess what? You both deserve it!
To that end, here’s my exclusive list of top Toronto dog-friendly cafes—bone appétit!

Must-Order: Flat White
Daily Dose Coffee Bar is a sweet spot near Toronto’s Entertainment District that welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes—inside and outside.
The space inside is small, but there’s some nice patio seating where your furry sidekick can chill out and munch their own treats right by your side. Whenever I bring my dog here, he just loves greeting his other dog friends nose-to-nose.
Sure, their drink menu might be pretty compact, but I do love their classics (flat white, espresso, etc.). Pair your drink with a delicious butter chocolate chip cookie or a flaky croissant, and you’ve got yourself a nice coffee break snack.
Pro Tip:
Daily Dose tends to get busy, especially around lunch. If you can, come early with your pup—ideally right when they open—to snag a good seat inside or outside.

Must-Order: Vietnamese Iced Coffee
Tucked near Trinity Bellwoods, Cafe 23 is a Queen Street West multi-level cafe that’s charming as hell. Imagine antique mirrors (a la Snow White’s stepmom’s), vintage chandeliers, and retro magazines—a very Insta-worthy backdrop for your dog selfies.
Outside, it gets even more gorgeous—you can choose between their lovely Japanese maple garden or their rooftop terrace. Just make sure to keep your dogs leashed.
As for drinks, my favorite here is their Vietnamese Iced Coffee, with beans made from local roasters like Hale Coffee and De Mello. What’s cool is that they have a partial dog menu, like pup cups and random treats.
Pro Tip:
You deserve a treat, too! Order Cafe 23’s famous Almond Chocolate Croissant—perfectly flaky and indulgent—and enjoy your coffee date with Fido.

Must-Order: Cream Berry Croffle
Forest Cafe is a pet-friendly Korean cafe near Fairview Mall that welcomes leashed dogs indoors and on their patio as well.
They’re famous for their dalgona latte, a whipped caramel-y cloud of joy over iced milk. However, I go here mainly for their range of pastries; I recommend their housemade Cream Berry Croffle (croissant + waffle).
If you’re after something more filling, try one of their freshly-made sandwiches.
Inside, there are comfy chairs, barstools, and plenty of outlets so you can camp out with your dog and your laptop for a few hours. Their free WiFi is a welcome bonus.
Pro Tip:
Planning to go to Forest Cafe on a sunny day? Chances are, so do a lot of other people in the North York area—come early if you and your dog want to snag a spot.

Must-Order: Halva Latte
Goldstruck Coffee is a cool Yorkville hideaway that sits just below street level. It was founded by coffee (and pet!) lovers, so you know their caffeine game is strong.
Speaking of which, they specialize in freshly roasted beans and creative brewing methods like pour-overs and cold brews. My favorite? Their delicious Halva Latte—it’s sweet, nutty, and creamy with that rich sesame flavor that hits just right.
As for your pups, they have a big jar of dog treats waiting by the entrance. And while dogs are not allowed inside, during warmer months, there’s a small patio with stools out front where you and your dog-child can chill.
I love bringing a small blanket or mat for my pup while sitting on their patio. He loves curling up on it while I sip my Halva in peace.
Pro Tip:
Goldstruck Coffee also hosts fun events like jazz nights and acoustic sets. Check their website for upcoming activities (some of which might be dog-friendly, too!).

Must-Order: Cashew Butter Latte
The Roasted Nut is an awesome little find for dog lovers—it offers amazing coffee, plus a charming outdoor seating area for leashed dogs.
There’s no full dog menu, but the staff is always super sweet about offering pup cups or dollops of fresh peanut butter for your pet. My dog gets to live his best life with his peanut butter treat while I get to relax with my killer coffee.
My go-to order? Their amazing Cashew Butter Latte—it’s smooth and nutty, and very addictive. I always pair this with either their Pecan Cheesecake or Black Bean Brownie.
Inside, there’s a little shop area where you can pick up jars of nut butter, oat milk, beans, and snack packs to take home.
Pro Tip:
I always go to The Roasted Nut in the afternoon (between 1 PM – 3 PM) to avoid the Queen Street breakfast and lunch crowds. That way, I can always sit at one of their shady outdoor tables.

Must-Order: Matcha Latte
Boxcar Social is hailed as one of the best cafes in Toronto. It has several locations, but my dog’s favorite is their shop at Harbourfront—it’s hard to beat those Toronto island water views!
Dogs aren’t allowed inside, but their spacious patio more than makes up for it. Just make sure to keep your pup leashed and always check with other dog parents first before a meet-and-greet.
I love their Matcha Latte—it’s very creamy and the matcha is not too overpowering. Sometimes you can request latte art (I once got a cute rabbit).
Watch out for their fun specials like half-price wine nights and drip coffee deals. To be dialled in, make sure to check their socials periodically.
Pro Tip:
There are several doggie water bowls on Boxcar Social’s patio. You could simply request a table next to one if you’re bringing your dog.

Must-Order: Pistachio Cortado
Buno Coffee serves amazing coffee from beans by local roasters like Hatch and Omnia. But, they also roll out the red carpet for your furry companion with a treat jar by the door and a barista who hands out dog biscuits.
I recommend ordering their Pistachio Cortado—something I spotted on their Instagram. It’s subtly sweet and nutty, and I always get it with oat milk. You better snag a butter croissant, too, while you’re at it!
They also serve other baked goods from local bakeries, along with a nice selection of teas. And they even sell home brewing gear if you’re up for the challenge.
Pro Tip:
Don’t be shy if your dog is asking for seconds! Buno Coffee’s staff is so friendly and definitely not stingy when it comes to dog treats.

Must-Order: Flasbrew Lemonade
If you find yourself near Stackt market with your furry buddy, pop into Milky’s Coffee. It’s a tiny but uber charming cafe that welcomes pets with open arms. Yep, leashed dogs are allowed on their patio and even inside.
This cafe is known for crafting everything in-house. My favorite on a summer day is their Flasbrew Lemonade—it’s sweet, tart, and perfectly balanced with their special flash brew over the top.
Another thing they’re famous for is their creative, seasonal concoctions (think Starbucks but way better), so follow their socials to check the latest. I had their Green Tiger (Spanish horchata, matcha, and milk) a few years back, and it was heavenly.
Pro Tip:
If you have time to kill, wander around Stackt Market—there are plenty of other places there that are pet-friendly. They even have a licensed off-leash dog area called the Bark Yard!

Must-Order: Raspberry Croissant
If you’re into coffee, art, or skates, Bevy should be on your list. This sun-soaked cafe is also an art gallery and skate shop, plus everyone brings their dogs here!
Whenever I go to Bevy, I always make a beeline for one of their leather benches, but if they’re full, I hang out on their lovely patio instead. I also love their rotating gallery installations—they’re very hip and Insta-worthy, perfect for dog photoshoots.
My must-try here is their Raspberry Croissant. The jam inside is so yummy without being overpowering, and I always pair it with an Iced Americano.
They’re also famous for breakfast sandwiches, if you and your doggo want to start your mornings here.
Pro Tip:
Keep an eye out for Bevy’s events calendar! You might catch a cool exhibit opening or live music while you sip.

Must-Order: London Fog
Red Rocket Coffee on Danforth is another cafe in the city that has a soft spot for dogs. In fact, your furry friend might even get a treat for being so patient while waiting for you.
They’re famous for their sweet and savory scones (the Herb and Feta Scone is a crowd pleaser). As for drinks, they offer one of the best London Fogs in the city!
Going as a group? There’s a spot there that I love—two brown couches facing each other; just make sure to park there early since it’s a popular nook.
And if you fall in love with their scones, make sure to order their Scone Sampler online or in-store. These frozen, ready-to-bake treats are something you can share with your pup while watching Netflix together.
Pro Tip:
Red Rocket Coffee also carries cool merch, including a Doggie Bandana featuring their signature print. It’s cute, durable, and perfect for your cafe-loving fur baby!
