Finally, our research and assessment were completed through an initial visit plus a spontaneous subsequent visit to observe the place. Highlights were noted using our best judgment with impartial evaluation in each shop.

Not only does Posh Pooches specialize in dog grooming, but they also tend to cats. With their skilled staff around we found a lot of compelling reasons which allowed them to land on top of our list.

Firstly, their pet grooming facility is located at the home of the shop’s owner so the grooming does feel comfortable for both pet and owner. Although this is the case, the shop guarantees its clients that the place is spacious enough to cater to many pet customers.

When it comes to customer service (which is a big factor in this business) we heard good feedback from their previous clients. Most of them attest to how accommodating the shop is, that even though it is a last-minute call they still manage to include them in the schedule.

Another plus factor for us is the fact that fur mom/dad is welcome to stay and watch (or even participate) during the grooming process. It is important for the cat’s owner to be there through the whole process so that’s an extra point in our book.

For their pricing, it is quite competitive with a flat fee of $65 per cat grooming, in our opinion, and is very reasonable with all its inclusion. Through this, cat customers can enjoy nail trimming, bath, and lion cut (or de-matting, brush-out).

As mentioned above, they also specialize in dog grooming so if you are an ultimate fur parent that owns quite a few dogs and cats, they can be your go-to pet grooming service shop. Might want to check them out for that.

Pros

  • Great customer care service
  • Skilled pet stylists
  • Comfortable and spacious facility
  • Charges a flat fee for services
  • Owners can join the grooming process
  • Plenty of waiting space

Cons

  • Limited grooming packages

Customer Reviews

Great service

I’ve taken my cats to Posh Pooches three times now and the care given and services have been great everytime! They asked questions about my cats, and were very careful and thorough during the grooming process (which included soothing pets throughout ). I absolutely reccomend Posh Pooches and will be going back again in the future! – Maya Finkelstein

Highly recommend

Repeat customer for years now with a Persian female cat for a lion cut who often gets badly matted especially in tender areas under her legs – they are so gentle and care for any affected skin underneath mats after the shave. The best care for cats (and dogs, I’m sure! We’d bring a pooch here if we had one ;)) And the results are seriously CUTE as well! You can have it all at Posh Pooches, highly recommend. Friendly, personable and accountable owners/groomers/care providers who take the time to explain how the groom went and how to best care for your loved fur-ball at home, too. – Maya Baumann

If you have a young, elderly, or frightened pet, The Fur Factor is an exciting place for them. Although a small, home-based pet grooming salon, they can tend to the kind of pet grooming you need for your fur babies.

Since they have been in the business for over 20 years, the salon has a pretty good reputation. This is all because of their friendly and responsive staff who treat their cat and dog customers with respect and great care.

Through our visits and surveys, we found out that the shop prefers to bring in one pet at a time, which we think is a little inconvenient for some customers. But through this system, we also believe that they can produce such quality of service.

Above all, this can give them enough time to concentrate on their pet customer’s needs and tailor their services to their individual personalities. This, in our opinion, is one of the reasons why clients attest as repeat customers.

For their cat grooming service, the shop strictly doesn’t bathe them for stress reasons. But surely they have package services (for a competitive price) that mostly include nail trimming, brush-out, spot-shave, and also lion clip haircut.

But if you’re a fur parent with a tight budget, don’t worry because they also offer stand-alone services. All these come with a low-stress environment, which we think is what you truly looking for to cater to your pet grooming needs.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Offers stand-alone services
  • Low-stress environment
  • Reputable business
  • Only caters to one pet at a time
  • Responsive staff

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer bathe service for cats

Customer Reviews

Right groomer

Great experience – did a great job grooming, and were a pleasure to deal with – I’m a skittish dog owner and don’t love leaving my dog with strangers, but felt at ease, and Frodo (our three year old Sheepadoodle) was relaxed and happy when I came back to pick him up. We’ve been looking for the right groomer for quite a while, and feel like we’ve found a home at Fur Factor. One note – you walk in through a comic book store, and enter Fur Factor through the door at the back – once you’re in, it’s clean and well lit. Happy customer! – Michael C.

Friendly staff

I have been a patron of Fur Factor for several years now, and I am very happy to have found them so close by in the neighborhood. I had taken my little one to several other grooming facilities and it was always an ordeal for both of us. The Fur Factor staff has been so friendly and responsive to what I want for my small dog, as well as treating her with respect and great care, it is really a pleasure to go there. – Dave S.

Spaw Boutique earned its loyal patrons by being one of the most reliable groomers in the city. As of writing, they cater to both dogs and cats with grooming services combined in packages for ease and convenience.

Overall, the grooming facility ticked off everything in our checklist from cleanliness to the general atmosphere of the place. Additionally, the receptionists were also very welcoming, which seals the friendliness of the place for us.

As for the grooming packages, the shop is fairly limited for cats (although that’s pretty much the same for other stores). There’s the short hair and long hair bath packages which is essentially all you need for cat hair maintenance.

Thankfully, the cost of the service isn’t much as it falls within the average in the city. The short hair package hits at $80 per booking while getting a comb cut can set you back to up to $150 – pretty fair in our opinion.

Although clients report some slight miscommunications during bookings, we think their process is pretty seamless. Just be advised that their cancellation policy is strict and can cost you 50% of the service.

With friendly services, spacious location, and fairly-priced packages, we think this boutique should be on your radar. Plus, hundreds of customers already vouched for their top-notch services so we can only think of good things for now.

Pros

  • Standard bath and cut packages
  • Fairly-priced services
  • Clean and well-maintained facility
  • Friendly and highly-skilled staff
  • Relatively quick grooming services

Cons

  • Limited grooming packages
  • Minor difficulties in booking
  • Strict cancellation policy

Amazing care and wonderful experience

Had a wonderful experience. My long haired cat had some mattes & everywhere else I called was wanting to charge crazy prices and would only shave the full cat. I was super nervous about dropping him off as he’s an anxious cat in general. But they took amazing care of him and he did really well with it all. – Devon Frizell

Exceptional service

I brought my rescue kitten into Spaw Boutique today and received exceptional service! The woman working at front desk greeted us right away, and was so friendly towards my kitten, Saint – I wasn’t nervous to leave him there at all! He was just there to get his nails clipped, the service was super fast and because it was his first appointment, it was complimentary! I will definitely be back with Saint! Thanks so much for such a great service! – Brittany Hergott

Based on what we’ve gathered, PetLand Spa’s best offering is the quality of their grooming services. On top of that, we’ve also noted some exceptional customer service which is always a delight to look forward to.

Unlike other grooming boutiques, this one operates on a pretty limited basis, pushing customers to book fast. Despite the limited working days though, the shop can still accommodate customers as long as they secure an appointment.

In terms of packages, we find it favorable that they offer both full packages and mini services for minor touch-ups. To give you an idea, they have full grooming services for regular cats as well as large cats.

Customers can also come to the place if they only like some small eye and ear cleaning and other small services. This, in our opinion, offers great flexibility since cats don’t necessarily need bathing anyway.

The costs are also fantastic and it almost falls in the affordable side because full grooming for large cats is about $120. Well, it’s still quite the money, but considering the 2-hour labor involved, you’re pretty much getting a bargain.

Finally, the location is as spotless as one can imagine with frequent clean ups once a session is over. You might want to check this out if you only need minor grooming services for your cat and wish not to break the bank.

Pros

  • Offers full and complete packages
  • Small grooming services available
  • Affordable grooming rates
  • Spotless grooming facility
  • Notable customer service and quality
  • Easy-to-use online booking system

Cons

  • Limited operating days
  • Risk of overbooking

Reliable and fantastic services

The owner of Pet Land is fantastic. Him and the other staff did a such a wonderful job with my fussy old cat. Ziggy was very happy with her grooming and was in a great mood as soon as she came home. Thank you so much! I can tell that they really care for and love animals here. Your pets will be in great hands. – Alex Brady

Knowledgeable, patient, and kind

Such an amazing place! The groomers are so knowledgeable, patient and kind. Our fiesty cat was giving them a very hard time but the team did so well to manage her and work around her behavioural issues. Our cat looks adorable and we can’t wait to return! – Mazna A.

If there’s one thing that sets Juju Grooms apart from the competition, it’s definitely their level of speciality with cats. Juju is a certified feline groomer so her cat grooming services are definitely  a mastered craft.

Another thing we love about this groomer is the high-level of luxury from the facility to the customer service. After all, the business does fall on the high-end side of grooming so it really delivers an exclusive experience.

When it comes to the packages, there are a lot of things we liked and a couple which we didn’t. For starters, we appreciate how comprehensive each package is with the addition of add-on services that you can’t find elsewhere.

However, you can only book these services via email, phone, or online – no walk-ins available. On the bright side though, this ensures that all potential customers are accommodated based on their preferred schedule.

The booking process is also easy anyway and we haven’t encountered any miscommunications so far. Plus the location is accessible with a beautiful and bright place for both pets and their owners.

Prices are just slightly higher here but we do think they charge reasonably for the quality they offer. Overall, it’s a good choice if you want something reliable, hassle-free, and noted for their specialty in cat grooming.

Pros

  • Certified feline groomer
  • Comprehensive packages and add-ons
  • Easy online booking system
  • Specializes in high-end grooming
  • Top-notch grooming facility
  • High-quality services

Cons

  • No walk-ins for cat grooming
  • Slightly higher rates
