Toronto Central’s Consumer’s Choice Award in 2019 and 2020 was given to Imperium Barbershop!
The owner, Moe, established the barbershop in 2016 and lives with his philosophy: “perfectionism and nothing else”.
Imperium Barbershop provides services for hair, trimming, beard, shaving, hot towel, and hair and shampoo conditioning.. We like that they also offer kid’s haircut and styling.
For beard trim, the price starts at $35.00 and the haircut plus style costs about $50.00.
Their combination cuts, for example, a haircut and beard trim costs about $60.00. We highly recommend their combination cuts because these are reasonably priced in our opinion!
On their website, you can book appointments and even request the owner (Moe) to be the one to do your hair.
If there aren’t many customers that their barbers need to attend to, they also welcome walk-ins.
Unfortunately, we talked to some customers who claimed that they felt the service was rushed, resulting in dissatisfaction. For example, some of their fade haircuts were uneven.
Nonetheless, the customers mentioned how the barbers are friendly. We confirmed this in our visit when they were accommodating and professional in addressing our concerns.

The barber who established The Nite Owl at Lakeshore Boulevard West in 1947 immigrated to Canada from Europe during World War II. Since then, the store has monumentally expanded and now has three branches!
The customers we’ve interviewed were mostly repeated customers of The Nite Owl as they have been impressed with the barbers – always ensuring that they leave happy and satisfied with their haircuts.
For instance, a customer highlighted how he was blown away with one of the staff who was keen to detail and how it was evident that the staff enjoys the craft. This made them a repeat customer as they felt like a new person due to his great haircut.
We also commend the professionalism of The Nite Owl’s barbers.
They have strong customer service skills that are not overwhelming. They were appropriately chatty with us when we paid a visit, making for a pleasant experience.
