Owner Tony Loschiavo envisioned a place where authentic Italian flavors meet a Canadian twist, and Paese Ristorante has been delivering just that since 1989.

Paese’s atmosphere feels like a kitchen away from home, drawing in a community of regulars who have made the place their go-to spot for Italian fare. The name “Paese” itself – meaning “village” in Italian – captures its cozy, familiar ambiance.

Our top pick is their fettuccine funghi. Their pasta is made fresh in-house daily, and it shines in this dish, which is served with wild mushrooms, porcini cream, and roasted garlic.

Another must-try is their grilled whole fish. Served tableside with roasted vegetables and a lemon wedge, it’s a beautifully cooked masterpiece.

To round off your meal, they offer an extensive wine list with over 500 labels. This earned them the prestigious Wine Spectator ‘Award of Excellence’ for 14 consecutive years from 1997 to 2010.

Service at PAESE Ristorante was nothing short of excellent

“I had the pleasure of dining at PAESE Ristorante recently, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. Tony, the owner, truly went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. His personal touch and attention to detail added a special touch to the evening. The service at PAESE Ristorante was nothing short of excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcomed throughout our meal. They were exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The food itself was an out of this world. We ordered the Gnocchi, Spaghetti gamberi, Fettuccine Funghi, Cornish hen, and a margarita pizza. The pasta is made in house, fresh, daily. It’s evident that the kitchen takes pride in every dish they prepare. From appetizers to desserts, each course was a culinary masterpiece. Overall, our expectations were excepted in every way. Tony’s dedication to creating a fantastic dining experience shines through, and the outstanding service and delectable cuisine make it a must-visit restaurant. I can’t wait to return for another unforgettable meal. There is a parking in the office building beside the restaurant.”

Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!

“Couldn’t have taken my boyfriend to a better place for his birthday. Its been a while since i’ve found a restaurant which such amazing service and food. We started with their bruschetta which was a special menu add for the day. Definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. Main course was the sweet potato ravioli and fettuccine funghi. Both topping each other in flavour. Cannot name a favourite for sure. To go with the meal I ordered an aperol and gin based cocktail which was very refreshing and complementing my dishes very well. Lastly when I asked for the dessert menu our server very generously got us a bowl of tiramisu on the house as a kind gesture for his birthday. I definitely thought this was a cherry on the cake to an already remarkable service our server provided. Not to forget mentioning the tiramisu is a must have.

Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!”

Nomé Izakaya offers Japanese tapas and an oyster bar, making it a unique North York establishment. Its interior has a modern ambiance adorned with warm wood and cool stone accents—a cool setting for sharing small plates and sipping sake.

Another crowd favorite is their Japa Burger sliders. We love their generous beef patty portion nestled between tomato, lettuce, onion, and doused with their tangy barbeque sauce and garlic mayo.

Meat lovers would also love their beef short ribs – its tender, succulent meat falls off the bone, with hints of smokiness and sweetness.

One of the best Izakayas in the GTA

“One of the best Izakayas in the GTA. I’ve been to Kinkaku and Kinka also, but I will always choose NOME in North York. The vibe here is always lively, but it can get a little loud on a Friday night due to live DJ and crowds. I love the Japa sliders, sashimi salad, short ribs, fried gyozas, monkfish tacos and their Beef Tartar (no longer on the menu, PLEASE BRING IT BACK). They also offer fresh oyster deal during the week (check their website). They have a green P parking just behind them.”

All were exceptional

“Was there for a work Christmas lunch. Staff is super friendly, and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu we were offered, details down to the cheese we were served and where it was from. Food itself was delicious from appetizers to main course. I had the Steak Frites along with a salad and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. All were exceptional. Parking: Parking was somewhat limited when I was there but still managed to get a spot, the last spot. There may be overflow parking on the street.”

I think it’s the best ramen house in Toronto

“I went to Konjiki Ramen recently. I ordered “Smokey Black.” The noodles had just the right amount of firmness, the flavor was intense, and everything was wonderful. I think it’s the best ramen house in Toronto. I would definitely come back. I hope this restaurant will be opened in Korea. And what a cute cafe next door! Only during the winter season? Actually I’m not sure. They had a lot of very pretty cakes on display. I bought a Tiramisu!! It’s so good!!! I’d like to try it again. I will go one more time before returning to Korea!”
